A cooper is someone in the trade of making utensils, casks, drums and barrels and other accessories, usually out of wood, but sometimes using other materials.
Traditionally, a cooper is someone who makes wooden, staved vessels, bound together with hoops and possessing flat ends or heads. Examples of a cooper's work include but are not limited to casks, barrels, buckets, tubs, butter churns, hogsheads, firkins, tierces, rundlets, puncheons, pipes, tuns, butts, pins and breakers. Traditionally, a hooper was the man who fitted the metal hoops around the barrels or buckets that the cooper had made, essentially an assistant to the cooper. The English name Hooper is derived from that profession. With time, many Coopers took on the role of the Hooper themselves.
The word is derived from Middle Dutch or Middle Low German kūper 'cooper' from kūpe 'cask', in turn from Latin cupa 'tun, barrel'. Everything a cooper produces is referred to collectively as cooperage. A cask is any piece of cooperage containing a bouge, bilge, or bulge in the middle of the container. A barrel is a type of cask, so the terms "barrel-maker" and "barrel-making" refer to just one aspect of a cooper's work. The facility in which casks are made is also referred to as a cooperage.

Usain St. Leo Bolt, OJ, CD (/ˈjuːseɪn/; born 21 August 1986) is a Jamaican sprinter. Regarded as the fastest person ever timed, he is the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time measurements became mandatory in 1977. Along with his teammates, he also set the world record in the 4×100 metres relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events, and the first man since Leonidas of Rhodes to win six Olympic gold medals in sprinting, and an eleven-time World champion. He was the first to achieve the "double double" of winning 100 m and 200 m titles at consecutive Olympics (2008 and 2012), and topped this through the first "double triple" (including 4×100 m relays).
Although gaining worldwide popularity for a sprint double victory at the Beijing Games, Bolt has had more victories as a 200 m runner. While he had not won any significant 100 m title prior to the 2008 Olympics, he had won numerous crowns in the 200 m event at the youth, junior and senior levels. Further, at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, Bolt completed a hat-trick of 200 m world titles by winning his third straight gold in the event. His 2009 record breaking margin for 100 m, from 9.69 seconds (his own previous world record) to 9.58, is the highest since the start of fully automatic time measurements.

McMinnville, Oregon. A step in the winemaking process that is often overlooked, is the role of the barrel maker, referred to as the cooper. Rick DeFerrari, of Oregon Barrel Works, started learning how to make barrels back in 1992 where he apprenticed at the century old French cooperage François Frères in Burgundy. Most wine barrels are made from oak and DeFerrari uses primarily French Oak and Oregon Oak woods. "All of our French wood comes from government owned land. The French have done a good job of managing their oak forests. Finland and France are the only 2 European countries that have an increasing land base for forestry. And all the wood is meticulously manicured; when the French government gets ready to sell a piece of land, they have an auction and the highest bidder gets those ...

We all have reason to be proud of the progress our profession has made in recent years. Awareness of (and demand for) interaction design is at an all-time high. We have better job opportunities and better salaries than ever before. Product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders are increasingly drawn to interaction design’s promise: more successful products and services, greater customer loyalty, and more efficient and effective processes. Though we’ve accomplished a great deal, our chosen field is not yet mature. There aren’t enough skilled practitioners to meet the demand we’ve created. Far too many of our best ideas still don’t make it into the hands of users. Many stakeholders still don’t know how to make the best use of our skills. All of us—together and as individuals—must find...

Therefore standing face to face with Goude is like gazing at one of his works: Surprising, pleasing and full of hope. Empathy is typically seen as wonderful, central to cooperation, caring, and morality. We want to have empathic parents, children, spouses and friends; we want to train those in the helping professions to expand their empathy, and we certainly want to elect empathic politicians and policy makers. But empathy has certain troubling features, and questions have begun to arise about just how useful empathy really is and how it might be different from related capacities such as compassion. Speakers: Paul Bloom and Richard J. Davidson Recorded at the 2015 Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colorado.

Well, the United States of America has turned its back on God, and the very backbone of this nation (in a physical sense) wants God out and is shutting Him out...that is our military and our government. Time and again, recorded all throughout the Bible, even going back to King David---when he (the leader) and his troops did not trust, obey and fear God, they would lose every battle. But every time they upheld God and trusted in Him, they were victorious. The same is true with us today. God never changes. We have a godless leader with a strong spirit of Antichrist who mocks God and literally hates Christians. In fact, he oppos...

Welcome to HMS Marulken! An in-development submarine sim with a twist: rather than being the captain of an AI crew, this a 4-person coop game with one person manning each of the stations of the sub! This makes for exciting, intense gameplay as everyone relies the cooperation of others to survive! Check out the series playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLalu5P0v3O2I7CqfeVLsPLie1o4d3OSxr I *tried* to do a quick solo video, giving a brief profession introduction to HMS Marulken and...... it turned into something else! I SANK A SHIP!!! ALL ON MY OWN!!! And then one of the single funniest moments in my gaming career happened to round out the video! The developers need your help backing the game! Interested? In his talk at Central European University (Budapest) former chief executive officer of India’s Public Broadcasting, Jawhar Sircar presented evidence of how the public broadcaster of India actively helped 'create a national identity' and reach a common cultural denominator in India where 1.3 billion people speak 22 languages and profess 6 religions. The lecture was organised by CEU Center for Media, Data and Society in cooperation with the CEU South Asia Research Group.
