It's not about the gaming skills here, just trying to bring back some memories. Player drives a moon buggy jumping over craters, rocks and land mines, shooting simultaneously at rocks in front and aliens above while dodging their missiles. Features very catchy background music and cute bouncing tires when the buggy is destroyed. Foreground and background terrain scroll at different rates giving the illusion of depth.

hey guys! so I was looking around the internet and I couldn't find ANYBODY who had the original arcade Moon Patrol theme. I found some that still had the sound effects in the background, and I found a couple people who tried to re-create it from scratch, which were okay, but it still wasn't the original arcade version we all remember. So, through the use of M1 audio ripper & a moon patrol ROM, I bring you the original Moon Patrol Theme, without any sound effects getting in the way of the funky groove.
A horizontal driving/shooting game where the player controls a moon buggy, viewing it from the side, that travels over the moon's surface. While driving it must avoid obstacles such as craters and mines. The buggy is also attacked by UFOs from above and tanks on the ground. The enemies on the ground are: Craters and Rocks, land mines, boulders, tanks, rocket cars, and space plants. The enemies in the air are: Regular alien craft, Elliptical alien craft, and tri-orb alien craft. There are 2 types of courses, beginning course and champion course. Note: No cheats used. Just Save States. The game is endless. I killed myself after levels start repeating.

Moon Patrol review. Classic Game Room reviews MOON PATROL for Atari 5200 from 1983. Moon Patrol was originally developed by Irem, better known for R-Type, and distributed to the arcades in 1982 by Williams. The Atari 5200 version has better graphics and sound than the Atari 2600 version of Moon Patrol, parallax scrolling and it even plays relatively well with the dreaded Atari 5200 controller. Shoot enemies in the sky with your roof cannon, blast boulders and tanks in front of you with your bumper cannon and hop over craters in this challenging, fun arcade videogame from 1983. CGR Moon Patrol video review has Moon Patrol Atari 5200 gameplay in HD.
