Michael Delaney Dowd, Jr. (August 11, 1925 – August 11, 2006), known as Mike Douglas, was an American "Big Band" era singer, entertainer, and television talk show host (The Mike Douglas Show).
Douglas was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 11, 1925, and began singing as a choirboy. By his teens he was working as a singer on a Lake Michigan dinner cruise ship. After serving in the United States Navy in World War II and as a "staff singer" for WMAQ-TV in Chicago, he moved to Los Angeles. He was on the Ginny Simms radio show. After that, Douglas joined the big band of Kay Kyser as a singer.
Although big band swing faded from popularity as WWII ended, Kyser had to continue performing due to contractual obligations, and continued to log a few hits with Douglas, including two notable hits, "Ole [or Old] Buttermilk Sky" in 1946 and "The Old Lamplighter" the following year. Kyser was responsible for giving him his show business name, and he continued to perform with the band until Kyser retired in 1951 due to health problems. In 1950, he provided the singing voice of Prince Charming in Walt Disney's Cinderella.
The Mike Douglas Show is an American daytime television talk show hosted by Mike Douglas that aired only in the Cleveland, Ohio area during much of its first two years on the air. It went into syndication in 1963 and remained on television until 1981. It was distributed by Westinghouse Broadcasting and for much of its run, originated from studios of two of the company's TV stations in Cleveland and Philadelphia.
The program premiered on KYW in Cleveland on December 11, 1961, and featured a mix of light banter with guests and musical performances, along with more-serious interviews with prominent newsmakers. Joining Douglas as part of the everyday lineup was the Ellie Frankel trio, a local jazz group. Instead of an opening comedic monologue (as was the case with The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, for example), Douglas, given his vocalist background, would begin each show by singing a popular song for the audience. Each week would have a different co-host who would appear every day with Douglas.

Freeskiing innovator Mike Douglas has parlayed an illustrious career as an athlete into a second-coming as a writer, filmmaker and emcee, giving a voice to the unsung stories of mountain adventures and adventurers. Whether he’s wielding a ski pole or camera lens, Douglas’s pursuit of poetic lines lends itself to a balance of Whistler’s dichotomy between action and solitude. It's important to note that Buddy was ASKED by Mike to share his opinions. Buddy was not one to mince words! Some may feel that's a bad trait, but I disagree. I am not saying I agree with everything Buddy says here, definitely not, just that I respect his right to speak his mind truthfully and candidly when asked. (I don't like having to read between the lines and second guess what someone really is saying. I would rather have them be completely direct and truthful so I know where they stand.) Update 30 October, 2016: I decided to disable comments for this video because increasingly there were disrespectful and even mean-spirited, hateful comments being made between viewers with different viewpoints - MUCH nastier comments than anything Buddy says in this interview!
The Mike Douglas Show, 16 February 1972 In 1972, John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, made a strategic and historic week-long guest appearance on the hit talk/variety television program The Mike Douglas Show hoping to get their counterculture message across to middle America. The musical highlight of the week, however, was an appearance by one of Lennon's biggest heroes, Chuck Berry. Berry and Lennon even performed Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" and "Memphis, Tennessee" with Lennon's average-in-every-possible-way 1972 backing band, Elephant's Memory. RIP Chuck Berry & John Lennon. Thank you for the music. Track Listing: 01. Resilience - "The Man In Black" to a response to a project by Architects For Humanity to create work which symbolises resilience in a post disaster situation. This project was made whilst I was travelling across America with my family in summer 2013. Our goal was to experience the music born in the heartlands of America: country, blues, soul and jazz, and this took us through Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana. And the impact it had on American culture in the cities of Chicago, San Francisco, New York and Boston. I proposed 3 drawings of stages, or music venues, to be built post disaster for local performers to carry on making music; entertaining and empathising with their audience. The style of each building was inspired by the architecture found in the rural southern states. A short...

Introduction [0:00] 02. Memphis, Tennessee [0:51] 03. Interview [4:18] 04. Johnny B. Goode [8:42]
KISS made their second TV appearance on 3-29-1974, they where only asked for a performance, but than their manager ask them if one of the members would like to be interviewed, so before Gene knew it he was in the studio being interviewed by a amazed audience and guests... This footage also shows comedienne Totie Fields, who sadly passed away in August, 1978. Nancy O'Dell shares a beautiful talk with 97-year-old film legend Kirk Douglas (who is celebrating his birthday on Dec. 9!) and his famous son, Michael, who surprises him during the interview.

This is our entry for the 2011 72hr Filmmaker Showdown at the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival in Whistler, BC. 50 teams had 72 hours to fully produce a 3 -5 minute film. As the competition started each team was given a prop which had to appear in their film for at least 5 seconds. This year's prop was a green apple. Although we didn't win, we were very happy to be selected to the final with a bunch of great films. Mark Abma, Mike Douglas, and Chris Rubens show us what it was like to be in Whistler during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games - from the perspective of a freeskier. Interesting people and amazing skiing made it the place to be in February 2010. No snow? Yeah right. After watching this you may never believe the mainstream media again. Credits Directed by: Mike Douglas & Dave Mossop Cameras: Dave Mossop, Eric Crosland, Steve Horton, Mike Douglas, Chris Rubens Edited by: Mike Douglas Michael Landsberg is a nice guy. The men in my little girl's life
The men in my little girl's life
It seems like only yesterday when I heard my little girl say
"Daddy, there's a boy ouside, his name is Rod.
He wants to play in our backyard
Can he daddy? Can he daddy? Oh please daddy."
Is it really so long ago she'd come to me and wanna know
"Dad, there's a boy outside, his name is Lee.
He wants to carry my books for me.
Can he daddy? Is it alright, dad? He's got freckles, dad."
The men in my little girl's life
The men in my little girl's life
Then came pony tails and jeans and my little girl was in her teens
"Popsie, there's a boy outside, his name is Tom.
He wants to take me to the prom.
OK, popsie? He's cute, popsie. We'll be home early, popsie."
Before I knew it time had flown and how my little girl had grown
Now it was "Father, there's a boy outside, his name is Eddie.
He wants to know if we can go steady.
Can we, father? Yes, father. Oh, can we borrow the car, pop?"
Yes it seems only yesterday I heard my lovely daughter say
"Dad, there's a boy outside, his name is Jim.
He asked me if I'd marry him. I said yes, dad.
Got something in your eye, dad? I love him, dad."
The men in my little girl's life
The men in my little girl's life
A child, an adolescent, a young lady, a wife
And oh yes, there's another man in my little girl's life
"Hi dad, there's a boy outside, his name is Tim.
I told him Grampa was gonna babysit him.
Thanks, dad. Bless you, dad. Good night, dad."
