Holden has updated its Colorado ute in the face of fresh competition in the popular and competitive dual-cab segment.

The new Colorado features fresh styling, mainly centred around the front facade with new headlights and foglights and a slight rework of the dual front grilles bringing it in to line with the more aggressively styled US-only Chevrolet Colorado.

While the cosmetic changes may be relatively minor the new Colorado gets a raft of new tech features including a rear view camera, Holden's MyLink infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring systems, digital radio, in-built satnav and either a seven- or eight-inch touchscreen depending on the model. Selected models also come with forward collision alert, lane departure warning, front and rear park assist and voice recognition.

The Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme concept, which previewed the next-generation Colorado and was shown at the Bangkok motor show this year, inspired a range of accessories for customers to tailor to their specific needs such as a safari bar, LED lights, fender flares, nudge bar, 18-inch wheels and all terrain tyres.

The new Holden Colorado will be available from the 1st of September.

Full specifications will be revealed shortly.
