He's written articles on subjects ranging from architecture to zoology have won awards from the Hawaii Publishers Association and the Society of Professional Journalists-Hawaii Chapter. Born and raised in Waipahu, Napier graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with his BA in English.
