Sounds of the Universe is the twelfth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 17 April 2009 by Mute Records. It was supported by the 2009–10 concert tour Tour of the Universe. Three singles were released from the album; "Wrong", "Peace", and a double A-side of "Fragile Tension" and "Hole to Feed". "Perfect" was also released in the US as a promotional single.
As with the previous album, Playing the Angel, Dave Gahan has once again written three songs with Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott: "Hole to Feed", "Come Back" and "Miles Away/The Truth Is". "Spacewalker" and the bonus track "Esque" are instrumentals. Martin Gore shares lead singing duties with Gahan on "In Chains", "Peace" and "Little Soul", he sings the lead of "Jezebel" and the B-side "The Sun and the Moon and the Stars" on the second disc of the deluxe box set. The B-side "Oh Well" is the first track ever to be co-written by Gore and Gahan. The final track "Corrupt" is followed by a short hidden instrumental version of the song "Wrong".
Revival is the second solo studio album by American singer Selena Gomez. It was released on October 9, 2015, by Interscope and Polydor Records. Gomez began planning the project in 2014, at which time she left her previous label Hollywood Records and subsequently joined Interscope and Polydor, and continued work into 2015. As executive producers, Gomez, Danny D, and Tim Blacksmith collaborated with producers including Hit-Boy, Rock Mafia, and Stargate to achieve her desired new sound. Their efforts resulted in a primarily pop record, with elements of dance-pop, electropop, and R&B connected by a tropical beach sound and lyrics that discuss love and confidence.
The record was inspired by the work of a range of artists, especially Christina Aguilera's sophomore studio album Stripped (2002), and Gomez's trip to Mexico, where she defined the album's sound. Working with a handful of songwriters, Gomez co-wrote eleven out of the sixteen tracks that made the album's tracklists. The album reflects her journey since 2013, including the media scrutiny on her personal life, of which her highly public relationships and personal issues.
"Fuckin' Perfect" (stylized "Perfect" on the clean version, and as "F**kin' Perfect" on the main cover) is a song by American recording artist Pink, taken from her first greatest hits album Greatest Hits... So Far!!! (2010). It was released on December 14, 2010 by LaFace Records, JIVE Records, and RCA Records as the album's second single. Written by Pink with Max Martin and Shellback, the track is a pop rock number which encourages people to accept each other for their true identities.
Pink has stated that the main inspiration behind the track is her husband, Carey Hart. Its music video, directed by longtime collaborator Dave Meyers, delivers a message against depression, self-harm and suicide. In November 2011, the song garnered a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance. "Fuckin' Perfect" peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Pink's eleventh top-ten hit single in the United States.
In 2011, "Fuckin' Perfect" was ranked at number-fourteen on the "Top 40 Year-End Chart", behind her previous single "Raise Your Glass", based on Mediabase.
In Christian theology, the fall of man, or the fall, is a term used to describe the transition of the first man and woman from a state of innocent obedience to God to a state of guilty disobedience. Although not named in the Bible, the doctrine of the fall comes from a biblical interpretation of Genesis chapter 3. At first, Adam and Eve lived with God in the Garden of Eden, but the serpent tempted them into eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, which God had forbidden. After doing so, they became ashamed of their nakedness and God expelled them from the Garden to prevent them from eating from the tree of life and becoming immortal.
For many Christian denominations the doctrine of the fall is closely related to that of original sin. They believe that the fall brought sin into the world, corrupting the entire natural world, including human nature, causing all humans to be born into original sin, a state from which they cannot attain eternal life without the grace of God. The Eastern Orthodox Church accepts the concept of the fall but rejects the idea that the guilt of original sin is passed down through generations, based in part on the passage Ezekiel 18:20 that says a son is not guilty of the sins of his father. Calvinist Protestants believe that Jesus gave his life as a sacrifice for the elect, so they may be redeemed from their sin. Judaism does not have a concept of "the fall" or "original sin" and has varying other interpretations of the Eden narrative. Lapsarianism, the logical order of God's decrees in relation to the Fall, is the distinction, by some Calvinists, as being supralapsarian (antelapsarian, before the Fall) or infralapsarian (sublapsarian, postlapsarian, after the Fall).
"Fall", written by Clay Mills, Sonny LeMaire, and Shane Minor, is a song which has been recorded by both country music singer Clay Walker and pop music singer Kimberley Locke, both of whom are signed to Curb Records. Both versions were released within weeks of each other in mid-2007; while Walker's version was released to country radio, Locke's was released to the adult contemporary radio format. Walker's reached number 5 on the U.S. country singles charts, and Locke's reached Number One on the U.S. Dance charts. Go West front man Peter Cox has recorded a version of "Fall" on his 2010 CD "The S1 Sessions".
"Fall" is a mid-tempo ballad in which the narrator addresses a lover who has had a bad day. The narrator then offers moral support to the lover: "Fall, go on and lose it all / Every doubt, every fear / Every worry, every tear".
Walker's version, the first version of the song to be released, was the second single from his 2007 album, which was also titled Fall. A music video was issued on October 17, 2007.
Fall is a surname. Notable people with the surname include:
It's the second time it happened
The time on your bed
Your hand on my hair
My hand on your head
And I can close my eyes when you're around
And I can hold my breath when you're around
And I can tell you all when you're around
And I can never fall when you're around
And if we can stick to each other
Then we can never
We can never fall
You close your eyes again
But the night it never ends
You fall asleep again
But the night it never ends
And I can close my eyes when you're around
And I can hold my breath when you're around
And I can tell you all when you're around
And I can never fall when you're around
And if we can stick to each other
Then we can never
We can never fall
Never fall
Now I can finally smile
And I know that I can mean it
And I can really smile
And I know that you can see it
And I can close my eyes when you're around
And I can hold my breath when you're around
And I can tell you all when you're around
And I can never fall when you're around
And if we can stick to each other
Then we can never
We can never fall
