Ellenbrook couple finds they are Lotto millionaires - a month late

As a West Australian won $1,354,219.45 in Saturday night's Lotto draw, the last WA winner was still waking up to their good fortune - a month late.

Saturday night's winner shared the jackpot with two winners from other states, with the winning numbers 12,1, 3, 24, 7 and 32 (supplementaries 10 and 2).

The Ellenbrook couple finally checked their ticket - a month late.

But the owners of one of the two West Australian tickets to win $1,571,428 in the last Superdraw a month ago were only just realising their luck.

The Ellenbrook couple told Lotterywest they went to Belmont Forum to check out the new Aldi store but the line was so long they decided on a Lotto ticket instead.

"We noticed how many winning plaques Here's Luck Lottery Centre had displayed so thought they might sell us a winner," they said.

They didn't realise they'd won until Friday, after they finally remembered to check the ticket.

"It was a real shock when we got to the very last line and all the numbers matched; I knew we'd just won Lotto. Then all I could think was that we needed to keep the ticket safe and get straight to Lotterywest!"

The couple will pay down some of their mortgage, and revamp their garden and kitchen.

Lotterywest directly distributes money raised from the lottery products back to WA not-for-profits, including the couple's local Woodlake Playgroup which last month got a $4384 grant for toys and furniture.
