Mecca (/ˈmɛkə/) or Makkah (Arabic: مكة Makkah) is a city in the Hejaz in Saudi Arabia. It is the capital of that kingdom's Makkah Region. The city is located 70 km (43 mi) inland from Jeddah in a narrow valley at a height of 277 m (909 ft) above sea level. Its resident population in 2012 was roughly 2 million, although visitors more than triple this number every year during the hajj ("pilgrimage") period held in the twelfth Muslim lunar month of Dhu al-Hijjah.
As the birthplace of Muhammad and the site of Muhammad's first revelation of the Quran (specifically, a cave 3 km (2 mi) from Mecca), Mecca is regarded as the holiest city in the religion of Islam and a pilgrimage to it known as the Hajj is obligatory for all able Muslims. Mecca is home to the Kaaba, by majority description Islam's holiest site, as well as being the direction of Muslim prayer. Mecca was long ruled by Muhammad's descendants, the sharifs, acting either as independent rulers or as vassals to larger polities. It was conquered by Ibn Saud in 1925. In its modern period, Mecca has seen tremendous expansion in size and infrastructure, home to structures such as the Abraj Al Bait, also known as the Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel, the world's third tallest building and the building with the largest amount of floor area. During this expansion, Mecca has lost some historical structures and archaeological sites, such as the Ajyad Fortress. Today, more than 15 million Muslims visit Mecca annually, including several million during the few days of the Hajj. As a result, Mecca has become one of the most cosmopolitan and diverse cities in the Muslim world, despite the fact that non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the city.
Nice (/ˈniːs/, French pronunciation: [nis]; Niçard Occitan: Niça [classical norm] or Nissa [nonstandard], Italian: Nizza or Nizza Marittima, Greek: Νίκαια, Latin: Nicaea) is the fifth most populous city in France, after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse, and it is the capital of the Alpes Maritimes département. The urban area of Nice extends beyond the administrative city limits, with a population of about 1 million on an area of 721 km2 (278 sq mi). Located in the Côte d'Azur area on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast and the second-largest city in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region after Marseille. Nice is about 8 miles (13 km) from the principality of Monaco, and its airport is a gateway to the principality as well.
The city is called Nice la Belle (Nissa La Bella in Niçard), which means Nice the Beautiful, which is also the title of the unofficial anthem of Nice, written by Menica Rondelly in 1912.
A fail-safe or fail-secure device is one that, in the event of a specific type of failure, responds in a way that will cause no harm, or at least a minimum of harm, to other devices or to personnel.
Fail-safe and fail-secure are similar but distinct concepts. Fail-safe means that a device will not endanger lives or property when it fails. Fail-secure means that access or data will not fall into the wrong hands in a failure. Sometimes the approaches suggest opposite solutions. For example, if a building catches fire, fail-safe systems would unlock doors to ensure quick escape and allow firefighters inside, while fail-secure would lock doors to prevent unauthorized access to the building.
A system's being "fail-safe" means not that failure is impossible or improbable, but rather that the system's design prevents or mitigates unsafe consequences of the system's failure. That is, if and when a "fail-safe" system "fails", it is "safe" or at least no less safe than when it was operating correctly.

Triumph or Folly? Mecca's Royal Clock Tower: Mecca: the holiest place in the Muslim world. Yet, in recent years lavish developments like the Mecca Royal Clock Tower have attracted criticism. Is the Saudi appetite for luxury at odds with tradition? The Mecca Royal Clock Tower is hard to ignore. At over 600m tall, some consider it a marvel of engineering but others fear the opulent commercialisation of a religious site. As tradition and modernity collide, the late King Abdullah showed a determination to put pilgrims first. "This is Mecca, no work is to be done here" he said. "The most important thing to me is that spirituality is preserved". Pilgrims in Mecca are performing Tawaff – the ritual of walking around the Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction. Mecca, the holiest city in Islam is only 70 km from Jeddah where I was staying for a few weeks. Mecca is where Prophet Mohammed was born and where the Quoran was composed. I was surprised to see that Mecca was actually a big city, in my mind, I always thought that it was a small holy place with the Kabaa. The Kabaa is a cubical shaped building, covered with a beautiful black cloth embroidered with gold Quranic verses. All Muslims around the world face the Kaaba during prayers, no matter where they are When performing piligrimage, Muslims walk around the Kaaba 7 times while reciting verses. When reaching the spot of the Black Stone (in the eastern corner of the kabaa), the piligrims salute it. It is believed that this stone fell from Heaven. the piligrims also drink ZamZam water, the hol...

I watched you look through the few
Just like you told me you'd do
And now you live for the star that you reflected to use
I never noticed the time, but now it's start to unwind
The few who know me for nothing
well why did you lie?
As you blacken my name
As you poison my vein
Heaven's never gonna cry
As you blacken my name
As you poison my vein
I watched you look for the days that I don't want you to see
I don't want you to see
I've only failed in the ways that I don't want to believe
And now the day has begun
And it will burn like the sun
Cuz I can see underneath your sacred hands are for none
I... I...
As you blacken my name
As you poison my vein
Heaven's never gonna cry
As you blacken my name
As you poison my vein
It feels like ... nowhere
It feels like ... nothing
I never wanted to go
But now it's harder to close
Are we hearing our bodies or are we hearing our souls?
I watched you dead in a box
But since I'd rather you rot
There's nothing left to discuss
So why we lie on the turf
As you blacken my name
As you poison my vein
Heaven's never gonna cry
As you blacken my name
