Veteran New York producer Andrew Fierberg has made more than 20 indie features, many of them low-budget. He produced the unforgettable Secretary with James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. He's worked with Ethan Hawke, Nicole Kidman, Robert Downey Jnr, Matthew McConaughey, and acclaimed filmmakers such as Sally Potter and Steven Soderbergh. He spoke to IndiVision Lab director Megan Simpson Huberman about his film, Keane, which features in the IndiVision Screenings, and which was produced by Fierberg and Soderbergh, and directed by Lodge Kerrigan. Keane is the second film of Kerrigan's to be selected for Cannes.

Squeeze part d’une rencontre fortuite de l’artiste avec un courtier de salade au cours d’un déjeuner, qui lui fit comprendre que tout pouvait être côté en bourse. Le film compare les façons industrielle et artistique de produire de la valeur. Jouant sur le montage pour rapprocher des espaces et des populations hétérogènes – une ferme de production de laitue en Arizona, où travaillent des Mexicaines, qui sont massées par des Chinoises, pendant que des Indiennes récoltent du latex sur des arbres à Kerala, pour que ces produits soient finalement acheminés vers le laboratoire-labyrinthe-corps installé dans l’atelier de l’artiste à Brooklyn et travaillés jusqu’au résultat final, le cube exhibé par sa galeriste Mary Boone. Les deux personnages principaux, au centre du dispositif, sont joués par des actrices que Mika Rottenberg a trouvées sur internet, à travers leur site où elles vantent leur physique spécial : Bunny Glamazon, une fétichiste indienne, ou Trixxter Bombshell, une Afro-Américaine de Pittsburgh qui gagne sa vie en s’asseyant sur les gens mais qui, dans Squeeze, relâche sous l’effet de la pression exercée sur son corps une énergie télékinésique. Compression géométrique de laitue, de latex et de blush, le cube est le résultat de cette chaîne opératoire qui mélange substances naturelles extraites à la main, fluides corporels et psychiques et n’a de valeur que par la façon dont il est produit, comme toute oeuvre d’art. Diane Arbus
Diane Arbus (/diːˈæn ˈɑːrbəs/; March 14, 1923 – July 26, 1971) was an American photographer and writer noted for photographs of marginalised people—dwarfs, giants, transgender people, nudists, circus performers—and others whose normality was perceived by the general populace as ugly or surreal.
In 1972, a year after she took her own life, Arbus became the first American photographer to have photographs displayed at the Venice Biennale. Millions viewed traveling exhibitions of her work in 1972–1979. Between 2003 and 2006, Arbus and her work were the subjects of another major traveling exhibition, Diane Arbus Revelations. In 2006, the motion picture Fur, starring Nicole Kidman as Arbus, presented a fictional version of her life story.
Personal life
Arbus was born Diane Nemerov to David Nemerov and Gertrude Russek Nemerov, a Jewish couple who lived in New York City and owned Russek's, a famous Fifth Avenue department store. Because of her family's wealth, Arbus was insulated from the effects of the Great Depression while growing up in the 1930s. Her father became a painter after retiring from Russek's; her younger sister would become a sculptor and designer; and her older brother, Howard Nemerov, would later become United States Poet Laureate and the father of the Americanist art historian Alexander Nemerov.

Mika Rottenberg
Mika Rottenberg (born 1976) is a contemporary Argentine video artist who lives and works in New York.
Biography
Mika Rottenberg was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976. She made aliyah to Israel with her family in 1977. In 1998, she graduated from Hamidrasha, Bait Berl College of Arts, Israel. In 2000, Rottenberg moved to New York to continue her education, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2000 and a Master of Fines Arts from Columbia University in 2004. She is currently represented by Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York.
Significant works
Rottenberg's video works feature women with various physical eccentricities, such as being very tall, large-bodied, or muscular, performing physical acts that serve as an allegory for the human condition in post-modern times. Her videos are inspired by stories where women have an unusual characteristic about their bodies that makes them a commodity. Mary's Cherries (2004), which shows a woman's red fingernails being grown, clipped, and transformed into maraschino cherries, was influenced by a story about a woman with a rare blood type who quit her job to sell her blood. In Cheese (2007), she shows women with very long hair milking cows and making cheese using a machine powered by the movement of the women's hair. Rottenberg's work was showcased at the Whitney Biennial 2008.

Jouant sur le montage pour rapprocher des espaces et des populations hétérogènes – une ferme de production de laitue en Arizona, où travaillent des Mexicaines, qui sont massées par des Chinoises, pendant que des Indiennes récoltent du latex sur des arbres à Kerala, pour que ces produits soient finalement acheminés vers le laboratoire-labyrinthe-corps installé dans l’atelier de l’artiste à Brooklyn et travaillés jusqu’au résultat final, le cube exhibé par sa galeriste Mary Boone. Squeeze part d’une rencontre fortuite de l’artiste avec un courtier de salade au cours d’un déjeuner, qui lui fit comprendre que tout pouvait être côté en bourse. Le film compare les façons industrielle et artistique de produire de la valeur. Jouant sur le montage pour rapprocher des espaces et des populations hétérogènes – une ferme de production de laitue en Arizona, où travaillent des Mexicaines, qui sont massées par des Chinoises, pendant que des Indiennes récoltent du latex sur des arbres à Kerala, pour que ces produits soient finalement acheminés vers le laboratoire-labyrinthe-corps installé dans l’atelier de l’artiste à Brooklyn et travaillés jusqu’au résultat final, le cube exhibé par sa galeriste Mary Boone. Les deux personnages principaux, au centre du dispositif, sont joués par des actrices que Mika Rottenberg a trouvées sur internet, à travers leur site où elles vantent leur physique spécial : Bunny Glamazon, une fétichiste indienne, ou Trixxter Bombshell, une Afro-Américaine de Pittsburgh qui gagne sa vie en s’asseyant sur les gens mais qui, dans Squeeze, relâche sous l’effet de la pression exercée sur son corps une énergie télékinésique. He's worked with Ethan Hawke, Nicole Kidman, Robert Downey Jnr, Matthew McConaughey, and acclaimed filmmakers such as Sally Potter and Steven Soderbergh. He spoke to IndiVision Lab director Megan Simpson Huberman about his film, Keane, which features in the IndiVision Screenings, and which was produced by Fierberg and Soderbergh, and directed by Lodge Kerrigan. Keane is the second film of Kerrigan's to be selected for Cannes.

Hoping to make good on her own, Lee begins looking for a job, and in her free time indulges in her odd habit of inflicting pain upon herself in various ways. Lee is hired as a secretary by E. Edward Grey (James Spader), a grim and ruthlessly efficient attorney who warns her that her work will be both dull and demanding. Lee takes to the job with genuine enthusiasm, and while she's recently acquired a new boyfriend, Peter (Jeremy Davies), she's far more intrigued by Grey's coldly patrician demeanor. While Grey often criticizes Lee, she seems to thrive on his abuse, but one day he crosses a line when he insists upon spanking her after some minor mistake. William Shakespeare's classic tale is brought to the screen for the third time in ten years in this modernized interpretation. Writer/director Michael Almereyda updates the story to the present day, where Hamlet (Ethan Hawke) is a struggling filmmaker whose personal and familial trials are set against the machinations of a huge production firm called the Denmark Corporation. Joining Hamlet as he seeks revenge for the death of his father and the wedding of his mother to an enemy are Kyle MacLachlan as Claudius, Julia Stiles as Ophelia, Bill Murray as Polonius, Sam Shepard as the ghost of Hamlet's father, Diane Venora as Gertrude, Steve Zahn as Rosencrantz, and Dechen Thurman as Guildenstern.
