As a radio jockey, Roshan Abbas has created over 3000 hours of radio programming winning four awards at the Radio and Television Artiste Awards in India. Having enjoyed a career as a successful TV host for shows like 'Family Fortunes', 'Born Lucky' and 'This is Your Life' he has also been awarded as 'Best Television Show Host' at the Annual TV Awards in 2001. He also serves on the promo jury for Cannes Lions 2008.
In 2009, Roshan began work on directing a film based on an adaptation of a play about high school called Graffiti that he had written and directed back in 1999.

Roshan Abbas got his first radio job after sneaking into the AIR office, giving the gatekeeper the slip. He made his way to the assistant station manager’s room, struck up a conversation about how they had attended the same mass communication school, and then proceeded to point out flaws in a certain jockey’s delivery, saying he would be more suitable in that role. This was the one of the first few pitches he had ever made and as it’s turned out, he’s gone on to become an expert on the subject today.
So what goes into the making of a perfect pitch?
In this video, Abbas, who now heads Encompass Events, says that it could be a number of factors – from ‘finding your team’ to ‘choosing who you go to bed with’. All of us have had to do it at some point – i.e. make a pitch. So chances are that at some point, you’ve asked yourself how best to approach it and if you click the play button, then 15 minutes later, you will be left with a complete perspective.

Roshan Abbas
Roshan Abbas is an Indian Radio jockey, theatre actor, TV anchor, emcee, impresario, event manager, writer, and director. He is an alumnus of La Martiniere College, Lucknow. He is a radio and television game show host and head of an events management company, Encompass.
Biography
Abbas studied at Hindu College, University of Delhi, graduating with a BA degree in 1992, and completed Mass Communication from AJK Mass communication Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. He started Encompass in 1996, which grew from a creative event agency to an experiential marketing agency that is now aligned with the JWT network.
He has worked on engagement plans, brand launches, and activation campaigns for companies like Hewlett-Packard, Nokia, Godrej, Colgate Palmolive, HSBC and Pepsi.
As a radio jockey he created over 3000 hours of radio programming, winning four awards at the Radio and Television Artiste Awards in India. Having enjoyed a career as a successful TV host for shows like Family Fortunes, Born Lucky, and This is Your Life, he has also been awarded as "Best TV Game Show Host’ for Family Fortunes in 2001. Abbas served on the promo jury for Cannes Lions 2008.

Narradores de Javé (The Storytellers) is a 2003 Brazilian film by Eliane Caffé.
Plot
A small poor community called Javé is under threat of being flooded by a new dam that is being built, and the only way to prevent this is to prove the town's historical value. As most of the inhabitants are illiterate, they have no choice but to ask for the help of Antônio Biá, a man who has been ostracized ever since it was discovered that he had sent out letters with lies about their reputations as a way to keep his job in Javé's seldom-used post office. He now has the task of documenting people's memories of how the city was founded, yet each inhabitant has his or her own version of what happened.

As a radio jockey, Roshan Abbas has created over 3000 hours of radio programming winning four awards at the Radio and Television Artiste Awards in India. Having enjoyed a career as a successful TV host for shows like 'Family Fortunes', 'Born Lucky' and 'This is Your Life' he has also been awarded as 'Best Television Show Host' at the Annual TV Awards in 2001. He also serves on the promo jury for Cannes Lions 2008. In 2009, Roshan began work on directing a film based on an adaptation of a play about high school called Graffiti that he had written and directed back in 1999. Roshan Abbas got his first radio job after sneaking into the AIR office, giving the gatekeeper the slip. He made his way to the assistant station manager’s room, struck up a conversation about how they had attended the same mass communication school, and then proceeded to point out flaws in a certain jockey’s delivery, saying he would be more suitable in that role. This was the one of the first few pitches he had ever made and as it’s turned out, he’s gone on to become an expert on the subject today. So what goes into the making of a perfect pitch? A interview held of Director Roshan Abbas for film Aways kabhi Kabhi.Shahrukh Khan the producer of Roshan Abbas's directorial debut Always Kabhi Kabhi is a very positive youth centric movie. The film is inspired by Roshan Abass's play Graffiti and star all new kids in the block. It stars Zoa Morani (daughter of Karim Morani of Morani Bros who handle SRK's shows), Satyajit Dubey (grandson of theatre stalwart Pandit Satyadev Dubey), Giselli Monteiro (she played Harleen in Love Aaj Kal) and Ali Fazal (played suicide victim Joy Lobo in 3 Idiots). Hopefully the film would be what it claims to be that it is a sweet movie of coming age.

It stars Zoa Morani (daughter of Karim Morani of Morani Bros who handle SRK's shows), Satyajit Dubey (grandson of theatre stalwart Pandit Satyadev Dubey), Giselli Monteiro (she played Harleen in Love Aaj Kal) and Ali Fazal (played suicide victim Joy Lobo in 3 Idiots). Hopefully the film would be what it claims to be that it is a sweet movie of coming age.

Amid a raging debate over equal Internet access for all, the Government on Monday (April 13) threw its weight behind "non-discriminatory internet access" and said an expert panel is looking into the 'net neutrality' issue. Anti-trust watchdog CCI might also launch a probe into schemes launched by some telecom operators, including Airtel, Reliance Communications and Uninor, that claim to provide 'free' access to certain internet applications, even as the companies defended their stand saying these initiatives did not go against 'net neutrality'. Social media platforms like Twitter continued to remain abuzz, as politicians, filmstars, start-ups and corporates joined the debate, while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also said there needs to be a debate on the issue. Net neutrality implies equal treatment to all Internet traffic and any priority given to an application or company on payment basis is seen as violating the concept. Telecom regulator TRAI, which last month floated a discussion paper on this, is also looking into the issue. "Non discriminatory net availability is what we need to strive for," Telecom and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, while adding that an expert committee was looking into the matter and should submit its report within a month to help the government make an informed decision.
According to the Minister, Internet is one of the finest creations of the human mind and it is a property of the entire human race and not of any country or society. "Internet to become entirely global should have a link to local and when we talk of digital inclusion it must be available to the underprivileged and on the margins," he said. Sparking off the debate, telecom major Bharti Airtel launched its 'Airtel Zero' marketing platform -- where certain apps are available for free with charges borne by app makers. Many free Internet advocates and start-ups feel that Airtel's platform could even "lead to monopolisation by a few and squeeze out the small companies". Airtel itself has defended its move saying the initiative would be a 'win-win' for customers and marketers alike. Coming out in support of initiatives like that of Airtel, e-commerce major Flipkart.com's founder Sachin Bansal, tweeted, "when foreign companies do it in India - innovation. Indians do it - violation".
