This is how to install the NZXT
Kraken G10 GPU bracket on the
EVGA GTX 980Ti SC graphics card with the
Corsair H75 all-in-one water cooling solution. This is an absolutely amazing option to water cool a graphics card without all the financial and time investments of building a custom water loop. This installation uses a custom modification which enables you to use a closed-loop cooler on the 980 Ti GPU.
I also wanted to be able to use the
PWM fan header on the graphics card to be able to control the cooling fans, both GPU and
VRM. I also installed a 5-pin to 2X4-pin
VGA fan adapater with a Gelid VGA fan adapter
http://azon.ly/kBZ2Em which allows the connection of standard 4-pin PWM fans. I then used a PWM splitter power connector http://azon.ly/ezyRZt to be able to connect all three cooling fans that I was using to the graphics card fan header.
I'm also a huge fan of Noctua cooling fans so
I've upgraded everything to Noctua fans. They are hands-down the quietest and most effective fans you can buy. They can be pricey but I feel they are worth it. The extra hardware and all parts used in this video are listed below.
When doing the temperature and noise readings I used the Etekcity Lasergrip
1080 http://azon.ly/fqYv4T and the BAFX Decibel
Meter http://azon.ly/oLxOzU when taking measurements.
Unfortunately, the VRM and
VRAM temperatures were unable to be obtained with the stock cooler installed and no temperature sensors were built into the card. I was able to get the readings with the IR laser thermometer with the Kraken G10 installed. The noise was measured directly above the card using the decibel meter.
