Paddington is an area within the City of Westminster, in central London. Formerly a metropolitan borough, it was integrated with Westminster and Greater London in 1965. Three important landmarks of the district are Paddington station, designed by the celebrated engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1847; St Mary's Hospital; and Paddington Green Police Station (the most important high-security police station in the United Kingdom).
A major project called Paddington Waterside aims to regenerate former railway and canal land between 1998 and 2018, and the area is seeing many new developments.
History
The earliest extant references to Padington, historically a part of Middlesex, appear in documentation of purported 10th-century land grants to the monks of Westminster by Edgar the Peaceful as confirmed by Archbishop Dunstan. However, the documents' provenance is much later and likely to have been forged after the 1066 Norman conquest. There is no mention of the place (or Westbourne or Knightsbridge) in the Domesday Book of 1086. It has been reasonably speculated that a Saxon settlement was located around the intersection of the northern and western Roman roads, corresponding with the Edgeware Road (Watling Street) and the Harrow and Uxbridge Roads. A more reliable 12th-century document cited by the cleric Isaac Maddox (1697–1759) establishes that part of the land was held by brothers "Richard and William de Padinton".

Sally Hawkins
Sally Cecilia Hawkins (born 27 April 1976) is an English actress. She made her film debut in Mike Leigh's All or Nothing in 2002. She would continue working with Leigh, appearing as Susan in Vera Drake in 2004, and as Poppy in the 2008 film Happy-Go-Lucky. Her performance as Poppy won her several awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, and the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival.
Other notable film roles include Rita O'Grady in Made in Dagenham (2010), and Mary Brown in Paddington (2014). She appeared in two Woody Allen films, Cassandra's Dream as Kate, and Ginger in the 2013 film Blue Jasmine, for which she received nominations for the BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Hawkins has appeared in many stage productions with the Royal Court Theatre, and in 2010 she made her Broadway debut in Mrs. Warren's Profession.
On television, she starred in the BBC adaptations of Fingersmith (2005) as Sue Trinder, and Persuasion (2007) as Anne Elliot.

Nicole Kidman
Nicole Mary Kidman, AC (born 20 June 1967) is an Australian actress and film producer. Kidman's breakthrough roles were in the 1989 feature film thriller Dead Calm and television thriller mini series Bangkok Hilton. Appearing in several films in the early 1990s, she came to worldwide recognition for her performances in the stock-car racing film Days of Thunder (1990), the Irish-immigrant-in-America-experience romance-drama Far and Away (1992), and the superhero film Batman Forever (1995). Other successful films followed in the late 1990s. Her performance in the musical Moulin Rouge! (2001) earned her a second Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and her first nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Kidman's performance as Virginia Woolf in the drama film The Hours (2002) received critical acclaim and earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress, the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama and the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Hauled by GWR livery 57604 "Pendennis Castle" on Friday 15th February 2013! This video is an insight into my journey and to give a bit of detail into the experience of the Night Riviera Sleeper service! Includes most major / interesting parts of the journey, filmed mostly from out the door window to catch the sound of the 57. A few minor stations missed out during my short naps. Includes the crossing of the Brunel Bridge at Saltash, near Plymouth! Onboard the FGW Sleeper, Night Riviera service from Penzance to London Paddington on Thursday 24th (into 25th) July 2014! There was an additional coach right at the front of the train which was locked up so I couldn't walk right through and get right behind the 57, which is a shame. Also theres no footage between Exeter & Reading because I fell asleep. Often the sleeper goes via Bristol and I would've woken up for that, but it didn't it went via Castle Cary and so we arrived at Reading an hour early at 3:30am! A good night though, very nice service and the crew onboard were very accomadating and helpful. Once arrived in Paddington, you don't have to be off until 7, so thats perf...

Onboard the FGW Sleeper, Night Riviera service from Penzance to London Paddington on Thursday 24th (into 25th) July 2014! There was an additional coach right at the front of the train which was locked up so I couldn't walk right through and get right behind the 57, which is a shame. Also theres no footage between Exeter & Reading because I fell asleep. Often the sleeper goes via Bristol and I would've woken up for that, but it didn't it went via Castle Cary and so we arrived at Reading an hour early at 3:30am! A good night though, very nice service and the crew onboard were very accomadating and helpful. Once arrived in Paddington, you don't have to be off until 7, so thats perfect for commuters and they bring you a choice of cereals or a bacon roll and tea, coffee or orange juice to your room when you're ready! :) Thanks for watching!
