The Mourning of Muharram, Remembrance of Muharram, or Muharram Observances, is a set of rituals associated with Shia Islam, which takes place in Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. Many of the events associated with the ritual take place in congregation halls known as Hussainia.
The event marks the anniversary of the Battle of Karbala when Imam Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad, was killed by the forces of the second Umayyad caliph Yazid I at Karbala. Family members, accompanying Hussein ibn Ali, were killed or subjected to humiliation. The commemoration of the event during yearly mourning season, from first of Muharram to twentieth of Safar with Ashura comprising the focal date, serves to define Shia communal identity. At present, Muharram observances are carried out in countries with a sizable Shia population, including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, Lebanon, India, Bahrain,Syria, Nigeria, Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and Yemen.
Gotta way to, fill the spaces
Fill the spaces that we once knew
Gotta way to, fill the spaces
Fill the spaces that we went through
I'll be goin' to the company store
I'll be hangin' with my old friends
I'll be goin' to the company store
As with my problems they will end
Gotta way to, hear the laughter
Hear the laughter that we once knew
Gotta way to, feel the feelings
Feel the feelings that you put me through
I'll build a rocket to fly across in
Fly across the trouble we know, yeah
I'll find my freedom, and with my freedom
I'll go wherever I choose yes
I don't wanna hear the voices
I don't wanna leave again
One good pass and I'll be gone from here
One good run and I'll be free
Got a rocket, in my pocket
Don't think I'll turn anyone in
It's my one thing, it's my one thing
I believe it can get me through yes
I'll refine it, they'll refine it
From this one horse town I know yeah
Get out of jail, with the bail here
