Contrary to latest rumors saying that the dramatic horror action-adventure third-person shooter video game “Resident Evil 7” has fallen short of gamer expectations and is reportedly under thorough scrutiny and is now being branded as a complete waste of time, Japanese game developer Capcom has come out to debunk the negative notions on its game.
“Resident Evil 7” has been announced to come out officially on January 24, 2017 at the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC and Capcom said that the new game shall offer promising experiences and state of the art gameplay, notes the Parent Herald.
The game developer said that “Resident Evil 7” shall provide a dramatic new shift for the series to first person view in a photorealistic style powered by Capcom’s new RE game engine.
It also added that the game shall deliver an unprecedented level of immersion that brings the thrilling horror up close and personal.
While most of the negative feedbacks on the game had something to do apparently with its supposed inability to deliver the outstanding features promised by Capcom especially when played through virtual reality (VR), the developer said that those are just mere hearsays because they have not released yet a version of the game playable on the PlayStation VR.
There are even rumors saying that the game might face an untimely demise because it will fall below gamer expectations when it comes out in January next year.
But some critics also do not believe the negative rumors about “Resident Evil 7” because they still think that the franchise is one of the best in terms of zombies and surviving in the midst of challenges and varying levels.
Good or bad?
There are also reports that a VR-capable “Resident Evil 7” could be heaven-sent or perhaps a curse from hell depending on a gamer’s perspective about horror games.
There are gamers who shun from playing horror games but there are also those who enjoy it to the max because they like scaring themselves half to death.
According to reports, “Resident Evil 7” shall be known officially in other regions as “Biohazard 7” when it comes out to the PlayStation VR, which would make the king of the survival horror video game even more terrifying, notes Game & Guide.
Having the game on the PlayStation VR shall transport the gamer to the virtual world of monsters and demonic entities. Players will no longer have the option of looking away from the terrifying monsters in the screen because everywhere they look is part of the VR world of the “Resident Evil 7” game.
Experts believe that Capcom’s decision to introduce the “Resident Evil 7” into the new VR gaming could not be more well-timed because it also marks the 20th anniversary of the “Resident Evil” video game franchise.
A frustrating tease
Apart from announcing during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in California last June the official release date of the game and confirming VR support when it comes out to the gaming consoles, Capcom released image teases about the game a few days later which perplexed its anticipating gamers almost to no end.
What caught the attention of the gamers is the mystery surrounding the dummy finger in the image seemingly pointing to the phrase ‘The path, for now, is closed, but patience …’
The tease is actually reminiscent of the Konami game “P.T.” where the gamers were able to find a hidden trailer after they combed its initial demo for secrets. The trailer showed the doomed Silent Hills.
Unfortunately, there was nothing that gamers have found on the demo trailer for “Resident Evil 7” that was released by Capcom during the E3 2016 despite various loose ends and mysterious objects hinting that there is more to be revealed.
