The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment and operationalisation of Indian Institute of Management at Jammu.
The IIM, coupled with IIT at Jammu, modernization of NIT Srinagar & opening of two new AIIMS, one each in Kashmir region & Jammu region would go a long way in meeting the requirement of high quality living and education in Jammu & Kashmir.
The CCEA also approved mechanism for revision of ethanol price for supply to Oil Marketing Companies to carry out Ethanol Blended Petrol Program.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are a group of 15 autonomous engineering and technology-oriented institutes of higher education established and declared as Institutes of National Importance by the Parliament of India. The IITs were created to train only scientists and engineers.
In order of establishment, they are located in Kharagpur (1950; as IIT 1951[2]), Mumbai (1958), Chennai (1959), Kanpur (1959), Delhi (1961; as IIT 1963), Guwahati (1994), Roorkee (1847; as IIT 2001), Ropar (2008), Bhubaneswar (2008), Gandhinagar (2008), Hyderabad (2008), Patna (2008), Jodhpur (2008), Mandi (2009) and Indore (2009). Apart from these ITBHU Varanasi is also slated for conversion as IIT Varanasi.

The Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is dedicated to student education as well as innovative research.
It conducts a variety of programs leading to Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees. It also carries out research in many frontier areas, which include experimental condensed matter physics, optical and laser physics, and various aspects of theoretical and computational physics in areas such as condensed and soft matter, non-linear and quantum dynamics, string theory and cosmology.
This film provides an overview of some of the activities on teaching and research that are being conducted within the Physics Department at IIT Madras.

According to the new list of top Engineering and Technology Universities in the world Ranked by the ‘Times Higher Education (THE) Ranking for Engineering & Technology’, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore made its debut in the top 100.
This is the first time that an Indian university is ranked in top 100. IISc made its entry at 99th place in the list that is dominated by US institutions. Stanford, CalTech and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) occupy the top three spots.

Indian Institute
The Indian Institute in central Oxford, England is located at the north end of Catte Street on the corner with Holywell Street and facing down Broad Street from the east. Sir Monier Monier-Williams started the Institute in the University of Oxford in 1883 to provide training for the Indian Civil Service of the British Raj.
History and building
In June 1881, plans were submitted to the University of Oxford's Hebdomadal Council to build an Indian Institute. The original site was occupied by four old buildings. The building was designed by Basil Champneys and the first section opened in 1884. Originally there was a low shop to the south, but neighbouring Hertford College has now encroached on the Institute with a much taller building. The Institute was built of Milton stone in the style of the English Renaissance, with different oriental details to the designs of Champneys. In 1974 Nikolaus Pevsner observed that the rounded corner cupola made an excellent point de vue at the east end of Broad Street.

Subramanian Swamy
Subramanian Swamy (born 15 September 1939) is an Indian politician from the state of Tamil Nadu. He is also an economist and a former cabinet minister. He was the President of the Janata Party. He merged his party on 11 August 2013 with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Swamy had served as a member of the Planning Commission of India and Cabinet Minister of India. He has written on foreign affairs of India dealing largely with China, Pakistan and Israel. He is also a published author.
Earlier in November 1978, Swamy was member of the Group of Eminent persons called to Geneva to prepare a report of the United Nations (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)) on Economic Co-operation between Developing countries (ECDC). Swamy also simplified trade procedures and formulated a new export strategy which became the forerunner of trade reform adopted subsequently. In 1994, Swamy was appointed as Chairman of the Commission on Labour Standards and International Trade by then Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. This was perhaps for the first time that an Opposition Party member was given a Cabinet rank post by the ruling party. He also serves as chairman of the Board of Governors of the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions in Kerala.

Kashmir Travel Video Diary & Guides - Part 2 is about my journey to Gulmarg, Kashmir via Srinagar from Jammu by road. My destination was Indian institute of skiing and mountaineering (IISM). A very scary & hungry travel time which took me over 40 hours to reach due to snow fall and other local authorities rules and regulation, yet it was very fun and interesting. I took the bus for Jammu at 9:30 PM on 18th evening and the all the bus heading to Srinagar kashmir were stopped at end of Jammu city after half an hour of running by Kashmir police for safety and security purpose all night in the highway. We stayed there till 5 AM in the morning then bus started running. And in the way we got caught by rainfall and snow fall which made a huge traffic jam and we had stop in many places for hours....

My mother is a tour guide for over 10 years and recently had to go for a ' refreshers course( not that she needed any !) which was organised by the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management. At the end of the first day, they were given a cd to watch. The cd was absolutely pathetic with English that could make even the staunchest of grammar nazi's cry. I came across a segment where they talk about recognizing certain traits of certain people. I was shocked by the racism in it and the idiocy in which he was saying it. Here it is.

Darjeeling, India, is an old hill station that offers beautiful views of the Himalayas. It's a small town and unlike other huge Indian cities, it's much quieter, peaceful, and it's a very nice place to just explore on foot (though not all the attractions are accessible on foot). So after arriving in Darjeeling, I first set off to explore the Chowrasta Square, which is a non-vehicle area with shops restaurants and cafes. There are also many trails leading from the square to other parts of the town. I explored a few of the footpaths leading in various directions to discover Buddhist Tibetan temples and other residential areas.
Probably the most famous thing about Darjeeling, India, is its production of tea; It's one of the most famous places in the world for tea. The climate, elevation, and rich Himalayan soil make it prime growing conditions. Surrounding Darjeeling you'll have a chance to see rolling tea fields and if you have time you can even visit a tea farm such as Happy Valley. Don't forget to buy plenty of tea in Darjeeling before you depart.
At the top of the main hill in Darjeeling is the Mahakal Temple, one of the most famous Hindu / Buddhist temples in the city. The temple is fully decorated by Tibetan colorful flags and there are lots and lots of monkeys, that can at times be aggressive. You can also walk around the area and explore the cave. Just be careful of the scammers in this area that try to ask you for donations. Another one of the most famous attractions in Darjeeling, India, is the Darjeeling Himalayan railroad which is better known as the Toy Train. It's an old locomotive train that runs of burning coal. You can go to the railroad station and purchase tickets daily for the joy ride, which is a 1.5 hour circuit that takes you on a leisurely ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom, the highest elevation railroad station in all of India. The railroad is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center is a center for Tibetan refugees where you'll find handicrafts and other things to purchase. When I went it was quite quiet and there actually wasn't much to do there. Other really popular attractions in Darjeeling, India, include the Himalayan Zoo and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which are located on the same compound and accessed with the same entrance ticket fee. The zoo was interesting and included a snow leopard and lots of red pandas. The mountaineering institute is a museum that houses many artifacts from Himalayan mountain climbing expeditions.
While many choose to wake up and go to Tiger Hill for the sunrise of the beautiful Himalayan mountain range, I was so cold that I didn't wake up and just stayed on the balcony of my hotel to view the gorgeous sunrise over the mountains. Darjeeling, India, is a beautiful little town and you'll have a great and relaxing time when you travel there!

When I went it was quite quiet and there actually wasn't much to do there. Other really popular attractions in Darjeeling, India, include the Himalayan Zoo and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which are located on the same compound and accessed with the same entrance ticket fee. The zoo was interesting and included a snow leopard and lots of red pandas. The mountaineering institute is a museum that houses many artifacts from Himalayan mountain climbing expeditions.
While many choose to wake up and go to Tiger Hill for the sunrise of the beautiful Himalayan mountain range, I was so cold that I didn't wake up and just stayed on the balcony of my hotel to view the gorgeous sunrise over the mountains. Darjeeling, India, is a beautiful little town and you'll have a great and relaxing time when you travel there!

Kashmir Travel Video Diary & Guides - Part 2 is about my journey to Gulmarg, Kashmir via Srinagar from Jammu by road. My destination was Indian institute of skiing and mountaineering (IISM). A very scary & hungry travel time which took me over 40 hours to reach due to snow fall and other local authorities rules and regulation, yet it was very fun and interesting.
I took the bus for Jammu at 9:30 PM on 18th evening and the all the bus heading to Srinagar kashmir were stopped at end of Jammu city after half an hour of running by Kashmir police for safety and security purpose all night in the highway. We stayed there till 5 AM in the morning then bus started running. And in the way we got caught by rainfall and snow fall which made a huge traffic jam and we had stop in many places for hours. The general travel time from Jammu to Srinagar is 7-8 hours which took over 30 hours to reach. As the bus was dropping at Srinagar while city would have been sleeping so I chose to go with person I got introduced in bus....and next day I reached to Gulmarg, my destiny, Indian Institute of skiing & mountaineering around 1 PM . A very long journey but a very beautiful journey. The beautiful scenery, first time snow falling memory, night walk in unknown kashmir, getting lost in snow.. all were my favorite times.

Gulmarg is skiing hub for Indians, it is equally famous for golf and godola in Gumarg is the highest cable car ride in Asia, which goes up to 14,000 feet height.
I was in 14 day skiing course at IISM gulmarg, It was a fantastic experience.

Kashmir is also known as Paradise of India due to its heart winning natural beauties, one of the famous tourist destination for Indians & foreigners who wants to play with snow. Gulmarg is skiing hub for Indians, it is equally famous for golf and godola in Gumarg is the highest cable car ride in Asia, which goes up to 14,000 feet height.
I was in 14 day skiing course at IISM gulmarg, It was a fantastic experience.

I came across a segment where they talk about recognizing certain traits of certain people. I was shocked by the racism in it and the idiocy in which he was saying it. Here it is.

Native Students at Work tells the stories of Native people from around the American Southwest who participated in labor programs at Sherman Institute, a federal Indian boarding school in Riverside, California. The school placed young Native men and women in and around Los Angeles as domestic workers, farmhands, and factory laborers. For the first time, historian Kevin Whalen reveals the challenges these students faced as they left their homes for boarding schools and then endured an "outing program" that aimed to strip them of their identities and cultures by sending them to live and work among non-native people. Tracing their journeys, Whalen shows how male students faced low pay and grueling conditions on industrial farms near the edge of the city, yet still made more money than they could near their reservations. Similarly, many young women serving as domestic workers in Los Angeles made the best of their situations by tapping into the citys indigenous social networks and even enrolling in its public schools. As Whalen reveals, despite cruel working conditions and poor treatment, Native people used the outing program to their advantage whenever they could, forming urban indigenous communities and sharing money and knowledge gained in the city with those back home. a mostly overlooked chapter in Native American and labor histories, Native Students at Work deepens our understanding of the boarding school experience and sheds further light on Native American participation in the workforce.

Abstract: Information theoretic secrecy refers to unconditional secrecy against a computationally unbounded adversary with any statistical procedure at his or her disposal. As is well-known, in absence of any additional resources, information theoretic secrecy is either not feasible from scratch. However, if the legitimate parties share some correlated randomness, many of the classical cryptographic primitives can be realized with information theoretic secrecy. Such correlated randomness can be accessed, for instance, from physical observations such as the fade of the wireless communication channel shared by the parties or can be purchased from trusted servers as in commodity-based cryptography. In this tutorial talk, we shall consider multiparty secret key agreement and secure multiparty (as well as two-party) computing problems, when the parties can access correlated randomness. In addition, the parties are allowed to communicate interactively over an authenticated, noiseless public channel. We will review the basic results that emerged over the last two decades in the information theory literature, which exhibit a close connection between secrecy generation and compression using interactive communication. The class of problems considered is very rich and connects to many basic problems in information theory, cryptography, and communication complexity. The list of topics to be covered include notions of secrecy, two party secret key agreement (information reconciliation and privacy amplification), multiparty secret key agreement and common randomness decomposition, two party secure computing, and multiparty secure computing with trusted parties. We shall also discuss some of our own results, namely a new upper bound for secret key length using interactive public communication and its role in characterising the minimum amount of communication needed for simulation of interactive protocols.
