Envisioning a world in which no one suffers or dies from vaccine-preventable disease Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of Sanofi, has a noble vision in which they work toward a world where no one suffers or dies from a vaccine-preventable disease. Sanofi Pasteur is the largest company entirely dedicated to vaccines. The firm provides more than 1 billion doses of vaccine each year, making it possible to immunize more than 500 million people across the globe. A world leader in the vaccine industry, Sanofi Pasteur offers a broad range of vaccines protecting against 20 infectious diseases. The company’s heritage, to create vaccines that protect life, dates back more than a century. Sanofi’s Swiftwater-based facility – the U.S. headquarters for Sanofi Pasteur, also promotes wellbeing in northeastern Pennsylvania in ways other than vaccines and public health. The Swiftwater site has a workforce of approximately 2,500 employees, and, since 2001, has invested more than $1 billion in capital expansion projects at the Monroe County site. In addition to being a powerful driver of the local economy, the company has a strong focus on giving back to the community. Its 12th annual Pocono Mountains Community Fundraiser in 2015 raised a record-breaking $205,000, bringing the initiative’s collective sum to more than $1.85 million in giving to literally dozens of local nonprofit organizations. In the greater Scranton area, VaxServe and Sanofi Pasteur executives announced that more than $680,000 has collectively been raised for three local nonprofit organizations in a similar fundraising effort focused on helping women and children at risk.
