Tatsu is a steel flying roller coaster designed by Bolliger & Mabillard at the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park located in Valencia, California. Announced on November 17, 2005, the roller coaster opened to the public on May 13, 2006 as the park's seventeenth roller coaster. Tatsu reaches a height of 170 feet (52 m) and speeds up to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h). The ride's name comes from Japanese mythology and means Flying Beast in Japanese. The roller coaster is also the world's tallest, fastest and longest flying coaster; is the only flying roller coaster to feature a zero-gravity roll; and has the world's highest pretzel loop.
In the roller coaster's opening year, it was named the 40th best roller coaster in the world in Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Awards; in Mitch Hawker's Best Steel Roller Coaster Poll, the roller coaster placed at the 34 position.
Rumors of a new roller coaster being built at Six Flags Magic Mountain first emerged in the summer of 2004. Land clearing began in mid-2005 around the Samurai Summit area of the park with track for the new roller coaster soon later beginning arriving from Ohio. Construction permits filed by Six Flags Magic Mountain and a trademark for the name Tatsu (filed on August 23, 2005) were later found by the public. Tatsu was officially announced to the public on November 17, 2005. Both Revolution and Roaring Rapids were temporarily closed in order for the roller coaster to be built. After construction and testing was complete, Tatsu opened to the public on May 13, 2006.
Magic Mountain or The Magic Mountain may refer to:
Six Flags Magic Mountain is a 262-acre (1.06 km2) theme park located in the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita, California, north of Los Angeles. It opened on May 30, 1971, as Magic Mountain, a development of the Newhall Land and Farming Company. In 1979, Six Flags purchased the park and added the name "Six Flags" to the park's title.
With 19 roller coasters, Six Flags Magic Mountain holds the world record for most roller coasters in an amusement park. In 2013, the park had an estimated 2.9 million visitors ranking it fifth in attendance among seasonal amusement parks in North America.
When the park opened, there were 500 employees and 33 attractions, many of which were designed and built by Arrow Development Co. which designed and built many of the original attractions at Disneyland. The admission price in 1971 was $5 for adults, and $3.50 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Because the park was in a relatively remote part of Los Angeles County, the Greyhound bus line provided bus service to and from the park and Los Angeles, as well as from Northern California, and optionally allowed purchase of park admission at the time the bus ticket is purchased.
Valencia is a neighborhood of Santa Clarita in Los Angeles County, California. It is located in the northwestern corner of the Santa Clarita Valley adjacent to Interstate 5. A formerly independent planned community, it was one of the four unincorporated communities (along with Saugus, Newhall, and Canyon Country) that merged to create the city of Santa Clarita, California, in 1987. As of 2010, the population of the 91355 zip code was 32,605 and the estimated median household income was $88,744. In 2006, Santa Clarita was ranked as one of the top 100 places to live by Money magazine. Valencia is home to the Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park and the adjacent Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park.
In 1769, the Spanish Portola expedition, first Europeans to see inland areas of California, came up and over the pass from the San Fernando Valley and camped near the river on August 8–9. They found a large native village there and witnessed a wedding celebration. Fray Juan Crespi, a Franciscan missionary travelling with the expedition, named the river Santa Clara and noted in his diary that the place would be a good location for a mission. On the return trip, however, the party found a less strenuous trail through Conejo Valley. Later travelers also preferred that route, and Mission San Fernando Rey de España was established down in the valley.

Tatsu is a flying roller coaster with an utterly unique way to ride -- face down. This mad twist puts you in a one-on-one stare-down with planet Earth, as you fly at speeds up to 62 miles per hour over mountain, tree, and rock. The structure itself is 170 feet tall, but when combined with the height of the mountain it's sitting on, you're in for a 263-foot elevation change over the course of the journey.

When it comes to Tehran, it's impossible to avoid politics and easy to overlook the Iranian city's thriving culinary scene. In our first installment of The MUNCHIES Guide to Tehran, our host Gelareh Kiazand introduces us to the bustling street food offerings in the city. We begin our journey at the capital city's Grand Bazaar, since that's where commodities first arrive. Gelareh beelines for the market's food stands, where she samples dried fruits and nuts while waiting out the line at Moslem Restaurant, frequented by up to 5,000 kebab connoisseurs daily—well worth it for her favorite tah chin. At the more modest and bygone Tajrish Bazaar, she's the proverbial kid in a candy store, wading through copper and carpet vendors in search of sweet snacks, such as grape molasses and lavasak (fru...
You say forever
And I confess I shiver
You say hope
I say that's where I'm goin'
To be in the shade
The oldest trees above my head
When I'm away, I know in my heart
There is a heaven
If I'm out hunting
Come right on in, yeah
And even when I'm gone
My doors are always open
And if I'm asleep
Make sure my blanket covers me, yeah
When I'm away, I know in my heart
There is a heaven
When i'm away
To be in the shade
The oldest trees above my head
When I'm away, I know in my heart
There is a heaven
