Los derechos de logos, audios e imagenes, son exclusivos de la Cadena Melodía de Colombia, este es un merecido homenaje a la mejor emisora de música instrumental en Colombia y a su fundador Don Efraín Páez Espitia (Q.E.P.D).
Radio Melodía fue inaugurado por Don José Venegas el 19 de septiembre de 1947 como Radio Industrial en 730 khz (1kW), con un horario: 05:00-24:00. La transmisión de toda la noche se inició en el 1958 y, al mismo tiempo, se cambió el nombre de la estación de
Radio Capital por el fundador. EL 14 de agosto de 1959, Don Efraín Páez Espitia compró la estación y le cambió el nombre por Radio Melodía, que fue Radio Lider, Emisora Básica, en 730 kilociclos AM, Frecuencia Preferencial, posteriormente se creó la primera estación de frecuencia modulada, Melodía FM Stereo 96.9.Melodía FM Stéreo 96.9, inicia sus transmisiones en 1967, con la intención de emitir música instrumental y ambiental. Durante 3 años hasta 1970, fue con la HJCK la única frecuencia de FM en funcionamiento en Bogotá.
MELODIA ESTEREO opera en la frecuencia 96.9 con un transmisor digital de alta tecnología y con una gran cobertura.Su fortaleza se encuentra en la programación musical única en su género, las noticias positivas y la variedad de programas que la han colocado siempre en los primeros lugares de sintonía. Melodía FM Stereo 96.9 es una emisora ideal para ejecutivos, hombres y mujeres de ciencia, oyentes que laboran en oficinas, y personas de gusto refinado por la música. Melodía FM Stereo 96.9 cuenta con equipos de última tecnología, lo cual la convierte en la estación preferida de las mayorías. Origina desde Bogotá - Colombia - Suramerica.
Pero si de un programa emblemático se trata entonces 'Noticias para ejecutivos' en la frecuencia FM es uno de los espacios más reconocidos de Melodía en la Capital, conducido por Tito Martínezy acompañado por Gustavo Niño Mendoza, quien desde 1991 ha convertido este espacio con su poderosa y extraordinaria voz en toda una institución para los oyentes del dial 96.9 FM.
Opera con un transmisor digital de alta tecnología y con cobertura principalmente en el centro del país (Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Tolima, norte del Huila y el este de Caldas .A través de la historia, Melodía Stereo ha contado con un equipo de reconocidos locutores y periodistas, entre quienes se cuentan su director, Efráin Paéz Espitia, además de Gerardo Páez Mejía. Han hecho parte de esta emisora figuras de la locución colombiana como Fernando Calderón España, Gustavo Niño Mendoza, Tito Martínez, además de una voz femenina como la de Julieth Barrera Hernandez, y Andres Reina. El equipo periodístico de esta emisora informa no sólo el acontecer nacional, sino el panorama mundial a través de los servicios informativos de agencias internacionales de prensa.
La emisora cesó su operación en FM, que funcionaba en la frecuencia HJMD 96.9 de Bogotá luego de 45 años, y pasó a transmitir el formato de música ambiental en 730 AM de Bogotá. Este cambio significó la salida del aire de Radio Líder, emisora noticiosa y de música romántica que operaba en el frecuencia que ahora ocupa Melodía Stereo, debido a que la frecuencia HJMD 96.9 se entregó en arrendamiento al Grupo Valórem, propietarios de Caracol Televisión, para dar comienzo a una nueva cadena radial llamada Bluradio.
Melodía Stereo, sin embargo, también transmite en streaming a través de la página web www.cadenamelodia.com, con "sonido de alta definición", como promocionaron al salir del aire en FM el 1 de julio de 2012.

Stereophonic sound
Stereophonic sound or, more commonly, stereo, is a method of sound reproduction that creates an illusion of multi-directional audible perspective. This is usually achieved by using two or more independent audio channels through a configuration of two or more loudspeakers (or stereo headphones) in such a way as to create the impression of sound heard from various directions, as in natural hearing. Thus the term "stereophonic" applies to so-called "quadraphonic" and "surround-sound" systems as well as the more common two-channel, two-speaker systems. It is often contrasted with monophonic, or "mono" sound, where audio is heard as coming from one position, often centered in the sound field (analogous to a visual field). In the 2000s, stereo sound is common in entertainment systems such as broadcast radio and TV, recorded music and the cinema.
The word stereophonic derives from the Greek "στερεός" (stereos), "firm, solid" + "φωνή" (phōnē), "sound, tone, voice" and it was coined in 1927 by Western Electric, by analogy with the word "stereoscopic".

Pero si de un programa emblemático se trata entonces 'Noticias para ejecutivos' en la frecuencia FM es uno de los espacios más reconocidos de Melodía en la Capital, conducido por Tito Martínezy acompañado por Gustavo Niño Mendoza, quien desde 1991 ha convertido este espacio con su poderosa y extraordinaria voz en toda una institución para los oyentes del dial 96.9 FM.
Opera con un transmisor digital de alta tecnología y con cobertura principalmente en el centro del país (Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Tolima, norte del Huila y el este de Caldas .A través de la historia, Melodía Stereo ha contado con un equipo de reconocidos locutores y periodistas, entre quienes se cuentan su director, Efráin Paéz Espitia, además de Gerardo Páez Mejía. Han hecho parte de esta emisora figuras de la locución colombiana como Fernando Calderón España, Gustavo Niño Mendoza, Tito Martínez, además de una voz femenina como la de Julieth Barrera Hernandez, y Andres Reina. El equipo periodístico de esta emisora informa no sólo el acontecer nacional, sino el panorama mundial a través de los servicios informativos de agencias internacionales de prensa.
