Big Brother's Ryan Ruckledge is as shocked as anyone to have romanced Hughie Maughan inside the house.
Ryan was evicted in the final Annihilation twist on Friday (July 15), when four fellow housemates voted to boot him.
Of course, Hughie was one of three contestants who tried to save Ryan and hugged the X Factor reject on his way out the door.
Chatting with Rylan Clark-Neal on Big Brother's Bit on the Side, Ryan said that he "worships the ground [Hughie] walks on" even if the Irish housemate isn't his usual type.
"I usually go for someone about 45, muscles, tattoos, bit of stubble," he joked, adding: "It's just Hughie's personality. He's such a lovely person.
"And he's gorgeous! I love his eyes. I genuinely never in a million years thought I'd be attracted - no disrespect because he's gorgeous - to Hughie because he's the total opposite [of what I like]... He's something special!"
Ryan also admitted to being surprised that he got on so well with most of his fellow housemates.
"I thought I'd go in there and be ruthless, be in all of the arguments, not give a f**k what people think. Not be arsed if people don't like me," he confessed.
"Deep down I'm a genuinely nice person - even though I got voted most un-genuine for some strange reason!"
During his main event interview, Ryan caused controversy by making a potentially-sexist comment about evicted housemate Lateysha Grace.
"[Lateysha] was genuine. She was never fake, never two-faced," he began, but then said: "She was so entertaining. It's unnatural to be that entertaining for a bird."
Ryan quickly apologised when audience members gasped, as Emma told him: "Maybe you need to think before you speak sometimes."
Big Brother continues this weekend on Channel 5.
