The Élysée Palace (French: Palais de l'Élysée, pronounced: [pa.lɛ d(ə) le.li.ze]) is the official residence of the President of the French Republic since 1848. Dating back to the early 18th century, it contains the office of the President and the meeting place of the Council of Ministers. It is located near the Champs-Élysées in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, the name Élysée deriving from Elysian Fields, the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology.
Important foreign visitors are hosted at the nearby Hôtel de Marigny, a palatial residence.
The architect Armand-Claude Molet possessed a property fronting on the road to the village of Roule, west of Paris (now the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré), and backing onto royal property, the Grand Cours through the Champs-Élysées. He sold this in 1718 to Louis Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne, Count of Évreux (families: Dukes and Princes of Bouillon and Sedan: La Marck | von der Marck), with the agreement that Mollet would construct an hôtel particulier for the count, fronted by an entrance court and backed by a garden. The Hôtel d'Évreux was finished and decorated by 1722, and though it has undergone many modifications since, it remains a fine example of the French classical style. At the time of his death in 1753, Évreux was the owner of one of the most widely admired houses in Paris, and it was bought by King Louis XV as a residence for the Marquise de Pompadour, his mistress. Opponents showed their distaste for the regime by hanging signs on the gates that read: "Home of the King's whore". After her death, it reverted to the crown.
Emmanuel Macron (born 21 December 1977 in Amiens) is a French senior official, politician and former investment banker. On 26 August 2014 he was appointed as the Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs in the Second Valls Government.
Macron is the son of Jean-Michel Macron, Professor of Neurology at the University of Picardy, and Françoise Macron-Noguès, MD. He was close to his grandmother, a school headmistress who had grown up in an illiterate household, and lived with her for some time. He studied piano for ten years.
He was educated for some years at the Jesuit-founded lycée La Providence in Amiens before he continued at the élite high school Lycée Henri-IV in Paris. He studied Philosophy at the University of Paris-Ouest Nanterre La Défense, obtaining a DEA degree. He worked as an assistant for Paul Ricoeur between 1999 and 2001 where he helped edit Ricoeur's book La Mémoire, l'histoire, l'oubli. He also obtained a degree in Public Affairs at Sciences Po, before training for a senior civil service career at the École nationale d'administration (ENA), graduating in 2004.
François Gérard Georges Nicolas Hollande (French pronunciation: [fʁɑ̃swa ɔlɑ̃d]; born 12 August 1954) is a French politician who has been the President of France since 2012. Hollande was previously the First Secretary of the French Socialist Party from 1997 to 2008, the Mayor of Tulle from 2001 to 2008 and the President of the Corrèze General Council from 2008 to 2012. He also served in the National Assembly twice as the Member for Corrèze's 1st Constituency from 1988 to 1993 and again from 1997 to 2012.
Hollande was born in Rouen, to a middle-class family. His mother, Nicole Frédérique Marguerite Tribert (1927–2009), was a social worker, and his father, Georges Gustave Hollande, an ear, nose, and throat doctor who "had once run on a far right ticket in local politics." The family moved to Neuilly-sur-Seine, a highly exclusive suburb of Paris, when Hollande was thirteen. Hollande was raised Catholic, but became an agnostic in later life, and now considers himself as an atheist (In December 2011, Hollande told the French Christian magazine La Vie that he respects all religious practices but has none of his own).
France Inter is a major French public radio channel and part of Radio France. It is a "generalist" station, aiming to provide a wide national audience with a full service of news and spoken-word programming, both serious and entertaining, liberally punctuated with an eclectic mix of music.
France Inter broadcasts on FM transmitters across France, via the internet, and available in many parts of Western Europe on longwave on 162kHz. The 162kHz transmitter is scheduled to be closed in 2016, saving €13m. A petition has been started to attempt to reverse Radio France's decision to close the transmitter.
France Inter was founded in the reorganization of state broadcasting which followed the end of World War II as "Paris-Inter" and charged with being French public radio's generalist (i.e. "full-service") service. The channel was renamed "France I" in 1958, although three years later one of France's most popular radio and television listings magazines was still showing the station's programmes under the heading "Paris-Inter" with "France I" as a subtitle. In 1963 the France I and France II networks were merged to form "RTF Inter", renamed "France Inter" one month later.

Beyond the touristy vibe, there's plenty to do and see on the world famous boulevard. (Paris, France) Arc de Triomphe, the famous french landmark, was built by Napolean to serve as French war victories. Engraved under the arc are the names of more than one hundred battles, and also the names of the generals who lead the armies. From Arc de Triomphe, if you start walking eastwards, you come across great landmarks like Luxor and the Louvre Museum. And on the way, you also walk on this tiny little avenue called the Champs-Élysées. The German army marched here in 1940 and the American army marched there in 1944. Even today, it is the site of events like the Bastille Parade and the finish point of Tour de France. Less officially, a lot of people come here on New Year's Eve, to celebrate with ...

http://tourvideos.com/ Cannes is one of the most legendary towns along the French Riviera, famous for the International Film Festival held in May and home to several super-deluxe luxury hotels fronting on a long sandy beach. But surprisingly, the main shopping area and old section are down-to-earth, with normal prices and a friendly atmosphere. Touring strategies can be summed up in a nutshell: walk from the train station to the waterfront, stroll along the shore to the Old Town, eat and shop, then meander back to the station through the pedestrian area. It's an easy four-block walk from the train station to the shore where you can have a peek at the high life exemplified in the extraordinary hotel palaces lining the grand Boulevard de la Croisette. Nobody will stop you from walking...
Slowly moving onwards -
Perceive the light of day
Hazy in the distance -
No need for delay
A piercing ray of sunlight -
The moring will prevail
Horizons getting clearer -
The darkness lifts her veil
A myraid of colours -
A rainbow drop of dew
Scatters iron bridges -
Of thoughts I always knew
A turbulent upheaval -
The water froths and churns
As if the cool surroundings -
Is laughing as it burns
A river flowing to the sea
No way of knowing its destiny
Skipping over stones and telling stories
Of a life carried along
The water making up a song
Settling for the motions -
Of pathways preordained
All must travel onwards -
The riverbed maintained
Delight in our confinement -
Make haste and join the fray
The stone of life is rolling -
No time to halt and play
A river flowing to the sea
No way of knowing its destiny
Skipping over stones and telling stories
Of a life carried along
The water making up a song
A space opens before me -
A journey's at an end
Pain or true salvation -
What's waiting round the bend?
Mingling with the silence -
I hear a distant roar
The end I had imagined -
Is just another door
A river flowing to the sea
No way of knowing its destiny
Skipping over stones and telling stories
Of an end that never is
