The Friend (LDS magazine)

The Friend is the monthly English language children's magazine published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It is aimed at those of Primary age (Primary is the name for the young LDS children's Sunday school program), approximately ages 3 through 12. It includes messages from church leaders, stories, crafts, recipes, and artwork and poetry submitted by readers.

The Friend is the successor to The Children's Friend, the official magazine of the LDS Church for children between 1902 and 1970. The Friend has been published monthly since January 1971.

Material from The Friend is translated into over 50 languages and published in various language editions of the Liahona, the church's official international magazine.

Hunter (1973 film)

Hunter is a 1973 film directed by Leonard Horn and written by Cliff Gould, starring John Vernon, involving the kidnapping and brainwashing of a race car driver in order to turn him into an assassin against America. The torture used against him involves forcing him to watch footage of the Winged monkeys from The Wizard of Oz, a-la A Clockwork Orange, giving rise to the now-famous pop-culture catch phrase "Please, stop the monkeys!"

Cunter (band)

Cunter (formerly known as Hunter) is a five-piece hardcore punk supergroup from Brampton, Ontario. It features members of Moneen, Alexisonfire, BWC Studios and The Abandoned Hearts Club. The band was founded early 2009 and is signed on Dine Alone Records. The band members were secretly revealed via a promotional website.

As of May 11, 2011, Hunter changed its name to "Cunter" after being threatened with a lawsuit over the rights of the name.

201 file

A 201 file is set of documents maintained by the US government for members of the United States armed forces. 201 files usually contain documents describing the member's military and civilian education history. A 201 file may also contain personal information such as home of record, and awards documents. Typically, a 201 file contains one or more of the following:

The 201 file is an important document for service members to maintain, as the documents it contains are important for access to benefits such as the VA Loan and the GI Bill.

Filé powder

Filé powder, also called gumbo filé, is a spicy herb made from the dried and ground leaves of the North American sassafras tree (Sassafras albidum).

Culinary use

Filé powder is used in Louisiana Creole cuisine in the making of some types of gumbo, a thick Creole soup or stew often served over rice. Several different varieties exist. In New Orleans, what is known as Creole gumbo generally ranges from house to house though still retaining its African and Native American origins. The Creoles of Cane River make a gumbo focused much more on filé. Filé can provide thickening when okra is not in season, in types of gumbo that use okra or a roux as a thickener for gumbo instead of Filé. Sprinkled sparingly over gumbo as a seasoning and a thickening agent, Filé powder adds a distinctive, earthy flavor and texture.

Filé powder is made by harvesting the young leaves and stems of the sassafras plant and grinding them. Filé powder is generally not added until after the vegetables and meats and/or seafood are finished cooking and removed from the heat source.
