The I Ching (Chinese: 易經; pinyin: Yìjīng; [î tɕjə́ŋ]), also known as the Classic of Changes or Book of Changes in English, is an ancient divination text and the oldest of the Chinese classics. Possessing a history of more than two and a half millennia of commentary and interpretation, the I Ching is an influential text read throughout the world, providing inspiration to the worlds of religion, psychoanalysis, business, literature, and art. Originally a divination manual in the Western Zhou period (1000–750 BC), over the course of the Warring States period and early imperial period (500–200 BC) it was transformed into a cosmological text with a series of philosophical commentaries known as the "Ten Wings." After becoming part of the Five Classics in the 2nd century BC, the I Ching was the subject of scholarly commentary and the basis for divination practice for centuries across the Far East, and eventually took on an influential role in Western understanding of Eastern thought.
The I Ching uses a type of divination called cleromancy, which produces apparently random numbers. Four numbers, 6 through 9, are turned into a hexagram, which can then be looked up in the I Ching book, arranged in an order known as the King Wen sequence. The interpretation of the readings found in the I Ching is a matter of centuries of debate, and many commentators have used the book symbolically, often to provide guidance for moral decision making as informed by Taoism and Confucianism. The hexagrams themselves have often acquired cosmological significance and paralleled with many other traditional names for the processes of change such as yin and yang and Wu Xing.
Terence Kemp McKenna (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000) was an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, and author who spoke and wrote about a variety of subjects, including psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, philosophy, culture, technology, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness. He was called the "Timothy Leary of the '90s", "one of the leading authorities on the ontological foundations of shamanism", and the "intellectual voice of rave culture".
McKenna formulated a concept about the nature of time based on fractal patterns he claimed to have discovered in the I Ching, which he called novelty theory, proposing this predicted the end of time in the year 2012. His promotion of novelty theory and its connection to the Mayan calendar is credited as one of the factors leading to the widespread beliefs about 2012 eschatology. Novelty theory is considered pseudoscience.
Terence McKenna was born and raised in Paonia, Colorado, with Irish ancestry on his father's side of the family.

The I Ching (Yi Jing) is an amazing oracular system developed in Ancient China more than 5,000 years ago. It continues to have relevance up until this day. It was first developed by an intensely Spiritual Man by the name of Fu Shi who's ethnicity harkens back to according to some Africa in some reports... In fact, there is a strong correlation between the I Ching and the Ifa system of Nigeria, West Africa. Fu Shi, having spent some time studying the markings on a tortoise shell was inspired to develop a system that would help humanity understand the every day changes as well as the celestial changes in the Universe. He started with just two lines, then three, called trigrams and develop these trigrams in reflections of the elements around him. wood, Earth, metal, water, fire. From there c...
How BaGua, I Ching, Binary Code, and DNA are fundamentally operating on the same principles. We could ask, why is this true?
Speaker: Geoffrey Redmond The I Ching is, together with the Bible, the world's oldest book in continuous use. For three thousand years, Chinese turned to it for advice on important decisions, as well as wisdom and moral guidance. Even Mao Zedong was said to have consulted it, despite his public rejection of traditional Chinese philosophy. In the sixties, with readable new translations, the Changes became a Western classic as well. A book that could appeal to both a dictator and do-your-own-thing hippies of the counterculture is certainly worth knowing about. This interactive lecture program, illustrated with pictures and diagrams, will demonstrate how an ancient classic, filled with obscure phrases such as, "favorable to cross the great water," or "Six at the top means: He gets his head ...
Hi, welcome to my first video. This video gives you a quick introduction to I-Ching (The Book of Changes) with a focus on reading the Eight Trigrams (八卦 [bāguà]). This video contains a PowerPoint slideshow along with narration to describe each image and more. I hope this will help you gain a very basic understanding of how to read each trigram as well as knowing its origin. There are many variations for the interpretation of the Book of Changes, the content from this video is largely based on lectures delivered by Professor 曾仕強 from National Taiwan Normal University, whose videos can be accessed on Youtube. In addition, I have conducted research on confirming the meaning as well as adding new sources. I hope you will enjoy the slides. All images were retrieved from Google Images. Pre...

Sadness comes around me
I feel I have to know
Should I leave right now
Or tell my love
Maybe I am afraid
Maybe I am afraid
I feel away with love
This might be a long time
After all
If baby you want to know
You give me less than I want
But more than you can do
Is less than I can have
I know
All the streets are crowded
And you are on my mind
You will return to me
