Plot: Young TV actress and household celebrity Chloe Collins has quit the TV show that made her name and is making her stage debut in an offbeat production of Oscar Wilde's Salome. Directed by a New York wunderkind fresh from a major Broadway success and produced by an award-winning theatre company, the stakes are high not just for Chloe. The fact that she can't even seem to learn her lines doesn't exactly help. When she suffers a personal tragedy a week before opening night, the mounting media attention surrounding the project intensifies. Plot: This is a highly controversial documentary in which the filmmaker, Pål Hollender, interviews six prostitutes in Riga, Latvia, and at the end of the film pays three of the women $200 each and proceeds to have sexual intercourse with them - on camera! The purported purpose of this film is to show how women in former communist Europe are exploited in the sex industry by rich tourists. "Buy, Bye, Beauty" provoked massive protests in Latvia, and indeed the whole Baltic region, when it was first released in 2001.

Plot: Lewis is a young Sydney amateur theater director at his first experience: he is offered a job with a Governmental program for the rehabilitation of mentally ill patients in a Sydney institution for mentally ill. His project is overrun by one of the patients Roy who wants to put on stage Cosi Fan Tutte (Mozart). None of the patients in the cast is able to sing and none of them knows Italian which is the language of the libretto. Through a lot of difficulties Lewis and his cast develop a deep understanding. The play smartly adapted for the unusual cast is finally produced: lots of unforeseen situations solved 'a la crazy way'but indeed brilliantly. Great success and sad farewell of the director from his cast.
