MacLeod's own description:
White Lotus:
Interesting new age sort of piece, that meets you halfway in the beginning with a lush, but brittle metallic soundscape. As it progresses - the metals fall away, and you're left with a bed of pure sine waves, and a piano tuned exactly to go along with them.
Echoes of Time v2:
Deep, rich, and thick soundscape but without the bells melody.
Echoes of Time:
Deep, rich, and thick soundscape with semi-tonal bells.
Discovery Hit:
Super giant epic 3 note sting.
String Impromptu Number 1:
Soaring and delicate piece for full string orchestra.
Penumbra:
There is something in the shadows, it isn't quite perceptible, but you know it is there. This is designed to make people uneasy.
Peace of Mind:
Very calm, very long piece.
Piano over a drone in D.
Inexorable:
Highly processed and oddly played piano makes up the harmonic base of this piece. Sort sort of ticking clock thing
... This is a brash mix, but probably not as bad as you think!
Thunderbird:
Wikipedia describes the Thunderbird as "a supernatural bird of power and strength". It will also ask you to disambiguate it from the automobile made by
Ford from
1955 to
2005. I'm sure it was a nice car.
I've never owned one. But there were a lot of them! The late 70's
Thunderbirds are particularly horrifying... They had those headlight covers that flipped up... because that was a good idea at some
point. But this piece! Oh! This piece!
Atmosphere like you wouldn't believe! The flute is just so earthy! The organic drones are also beautiful. The whole thing is beautiful. Kind of like you went to an alien day spa in another dimension where days last for years, but you still never get all wrinkly when you're in the bubbly warm waters. mmmm... bubbly warm waters... with the slight possibility of a serial killer.
Garden Music:
This epic 41-minute relaxing juggernaut is a continually changing yet always pleasant piece. How pleasant? Very, very pleasant. You can just put this one on and drift away to the imagined utopian land of your choosing! Suitable for day-spa background music, dental office calming music, very long form landscape or train videos, governmental intake and processing videos.
Relaxing Piano Music:
You can only title a piece Relaxing Piano Music once in your life, so you better bring it! Piano?
You bet! Relaxing? Indeed! Music?
Close enough! This 24-minute epic of calm is great for that chilly winter day, or lazy summer day... All the seasons! Wherever you need calm, you can get it here!
Peaceful exclamation points?
Yes!! All of them! De-stressing while studying for an exam? Go for this one! Doing a retrospective on the life and times of your pet chinchilla?
You're welcome! All the calm! ALL THE
TIME!!!
Key of G. You can make your own mixes with the uncompressed downloads to only include the melodies you want if you like!
Welcome to HorrorLand:
Welcome to HorrorLand!
Please keep all arms, legs, and eyestalks inside the vehicle at all times. All exits are clearly marked. There are no exits. Do not attempt to leave HorrorLand. This will end badly for everyone. Please note: it will end badly if you do not attempt to leave as well. So, it is really up to you.
Feel free to split up your group and explore. That is always a great idea!
Mesmerize:
Need to suck someone in? This piece never quite gives what you want.... so you just get sucked in.
Perfect for videos like: Disassembling a watch, Removing a giant zit, Drilling a
hole in a glacier, or anything that takes just a little longer than most people think it should.
Unseen Horrors:
I originally wrote this as a piece for theramin, but I think it works better without.
Music for Manatees:
Beautiful slow moving piece with consonant sounds punctuated by rare notes that sing out over the top... like the manatee.
Hush:
Creepy little piece with a buildup and action hit around 1:30.
Dhaka:
Melodic-based music inspired by the
Sarod music of northern
India.
Night of Chaos:
The mellow guitar lulls you on a superficial level, while being undermined by the synths.
Evening of Chaos:
Semi-beautiful and flawed piano melody contrasts with industrial percussion. This piece has three distinct movements.
