1) "some settings are managed by your organization" is displayed because Spybot Beacon changes some group policy settings. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense.
2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem.

Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature.
A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat
Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation.
Q) You should just run Linux!
A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street.
Q) What is telemetry?
A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing.

Q) I upgraded my media center (purchased TiVo) to windows 10 and it does now warn you that Windows Media Center will not be accessible after the upgrade and gives you the option to cancel.
A) When I did my upgrades it was right after Windows 10 came out. Looks like enough people complained that they now show this which is fantastic. That being said I've already talked to a few people that had automatic upgrades occur during the night without the option to opt out because of media center.
Q) You also have to understand that all other microsoft OS is no longer supported with updates.
A) Wrong, The Microsoft life cycle requires them to support Windows 8.1 through 2023. They also have to continue to support Windows Vista through April 11, 2017 and Windows 7 through Jan 14th, 2020. Whoever told you that Microsoft will no longer support those platforms with updates is lying since it's required that they patch security holes & exploits as a part of ongoing support for those platforms.
Q) Other operating systems like Android and iOS spy on you, how is this different?
A) Microsoft always made it a point to call out those companies for the bullshit tactics they used and made Windows customers feel safer and more empowered by letting them know they wouldn't do crap like this (Look up 'Scroogled'). Microsoft decided that they were going to change directions when they laid off 1/3rd of their work force and embraced a new CEO that doesn't care about consumer trust. If Microsoft was untrustworthy out of the gate this wouldn't be an issue since people would expect it. But the fact they changed all their tactics and are absolutely 100% trying to deceive people to get an end result shows their true colors.

It’s been 6 months since Microsoft released its latest OS to the public, and by now you've probably already seen tones of fact videos and articles. You know those lists that tell you how the Start menu is back, how you can switch between multiple desktops or how you can enable a hidden dark mode. And that’s all nice and jolly, but this time, we’re gonna do something different. Instead of telling you about things that you can find on your own, on your personal computer, I’m gonna take you just a bit deeper behind the scenes, and give you some of the stories surrounding the already famous Windows 10.
Did you know:
- Microsoft skipped Windows 9, and jumped from 8.1 to 10, so that legacy programs wouldn't confuse it with the two versions of the OS that contain the number 9 in their name - Windows 95 and 98.
- During a Microsoft Built conference, company employees wore a blue t-shirt with a Windows logo filled with binary code. The code had a secret message for those with the knowledge to crack it.
- The new and improved Start Menu that had it's comeback in Windows 10 was one of the most popular features of the new OS, but the man who practically invented it stated how it was actually disappointing.
- The default wallpaper for Windows 10 is called the Hero Desktop Image, and it was made entirely out of light!
- In January of 2016, Microsoft reported that Windows 10 was active on more than 200 million devices worldwide!
- Microsoft can literally listen to every sound you make, and see every key you type, thanks to Cortana and the ‘’Get to know me’’ option.

Windows 10
Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was officially unveiled in September 2014 following a brief demo at Build 2014. The first version of the operating system entered a public beta testing process in October 2014, leading up to its consumer release on July 29, 2015, and its release to volume licensing on August 1, 2015. To encourage the adoption of Windows 10, Microsoft announced that during its first year of availability, upgrades to the operating system would be made available free of charge to users of genuine copies of eligible editions of Windows 7, and Windows 8 after update to Windows 8.1.
Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as a "universal" application architecture; expanding on Metro-style apps, these apps can be designed to run across multiple Microsoft product families with nearly identical code—including PCs, tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub and HoloLens. The Windows user interface was revised to handle transitions between a mouse-oriented interface and a touchscreen-optimized interface based on available input devices—particularly on 2-in-1 PCs; both interfaces include an updated Start menu that blends elements of Windows 7's traditional Start menu with the tiles of Windows 8. The first release of Windows 10 also introduces a virtual desktop system, a window and desktop management feature called Task View, the Microsoft Edge web browser, support for fingerprint and face recognition login, new security features for enterprise environments, and DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0 to improve the operating system's graphics capabilities for games.

Microsoft Windows
Microsoft Windows (or simply Windows) is a metafamily of graphical operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Microsoft. It consists of several families of operating systems, each of which cater to a certain sector of the computing industry. Active Windows families include Windows NT, Windows Embedded and Windows Phone; these may encompass subfamilies, e.g. Windows Embedded Compact (Windows CE) or Windows Server. Defunct Windows families include Windows 9x and Windows Mobile.
Microsoft introduced an operating environment named Windows on November 20, 1985, as a graphical operating system shell for MS-DOS in response to the growing interest in graphical user interfaces (GUIs). Microsoft Windows came to dominate the world's personal computer market with over 90% market share, overtaking Mac OS, which had been introduced in 1984. However, since 2012, because of the massive growth of smartphones, Windows sells less than Android, which became the most popular operating system in 2014, when counting all of the computing platforms each operating system runs on; in 2014, the number of Windows devices sold were less than 25% of Android devices sold. However, comparisons across different markets are not fully relevant; and for personal computers, Windows is still the most popular operating system.

A) When I did my upgrades it was right after Windows 10 came out. Looks like enough people complained that they now show this which is fantastic. That being said I've already talked to a few people that had automatic upgrades occur during the night without the option to opt out because of media center. Q) You also have to understand that all other microsoft OS is no longer supported with updates. A) Wrong, The Microsoft life cycle requires them to support Windows 8.1 through 2023. They also have to continue to support Windows Vista through April 11, 2017 and Windows 7 through Jan 14th, 2020. Whoever told you that Microsoft will no longer support those platforms with updates is lying since it's required that they patch security holes & exploits as a part of ongoing support for those platforms. Q) Other operating systems like Android and iOS spy on you, how is this different? A) Microsoft always made it a point to call out those companies for the bullshit tactics they used and made Windows customers feel safer and more empowered by letting them know they wouldn't do crap like this (Look up 'Scroogled'). Microsoft decided that they were going to change directions when they laid off 1/3rd of their work force and embraced a new CEO that doesn't care about consumer trust. Instead of telling you about things that you can find on your own, on your personal computer, I’m gonna take you just a bit deeper behind the scenes, and give you some of the stories surrounding the already famous Windows 10. Did you know: - Microsoft skipped Windows 9, and jumped from 8.1 to 10, so that legacy programs wouldn't confuse it with the two versions of the OS that contain the number 9 in their name - Windows 95 and 98. - During a Microsoft Built conference, company employees wore a blue t-shirt with a Windows logo filled with binary code. 1) "some settings are managed by your organization" is displayed because Spybot Beacon changes some group policy settings. I didn't realize this while shooting the video but it makes sense.
2) If you notice Skype Group Chats stop working open up the HOSTS file and remove all of the entries containing MSN. I've had one report of this fixing the problem.

Q) I like Cortana so I don't want to disable that feature.
A) That is fine, but just realized that Microsoft intentionally made Cortana dependent on the cloud meaning you have to give up your information, searches, contacts, calendar entries, etc to use her. You can't pick and chose what gets sent to Microsoft and still use the feature. It's all or nothing and I think this sends a bad message from Microsoft on what they are actually doing with that data. #TinfoilHat
Q) Why do you hate Microsoft so much?
A) I don't hate Microsoft, I worked there for 15 years as a Senior Software Developer. Windows is still my preferred platform that I use daily. What I don't like is the direction Microsoft is taking with regards to advertisement and marketing being the focus over the core operating system and innovation.
Q) You should just run Linux!
A) I like Linux but it's not in any position to be a replacement for an operating system like Windows. There is no Adobe support on Linux and it's not ideal for mainstream content creators and software developers. But who knows what the future holds if Microsoft keeps going down this dark street.
Q) What is telemetry?
A) It's Microsoft collecting data on your computer, what you search for, usage patterns, application usage, etc so they can analyze the data or use it for marketing.

Q) I upgraded my media center (purchased TiVo) to windows 10 and it does now warn you that Windows Media Center will not be accessible after the upgrade and gives you the option to cancel.
A) When I did my upgrades it was right after Windows 10 came out. Looks like enough people complained that they now show this which is fantastic. That being said I've already talked to a few people that had automatic upgrades occur during the night without the option to opt out because of media center.
Q) You also have to understand that all other microsoft OS is no longer supported with updates.
A) Wrong, The Microsoft life cycle requires them to support Windows 8.1 through 2023. They also have to continue to support Windows Vista through April 11, 2017 and Windows 7 through Jan 14th, 2020. Whoever told you that Microsoft will no longer support those platforms with updates is lying since it's required that they patch security holes & exploits as a part of ongoing support for those platforms.
Q) Other operating systems like Android and iOS spy on you, how is this different?
A) Microsoft always made it a point to call out those companies for the bullshit tactics they used and made Windows customers feel safer and more empowered by letting them know they wouldn't do crap like this (Look up 'Scroogled'). Microsoft decided that they were going to change directions when they laid off 1/3rd of their work force and embraced a new CEO that doesn't care about consumer trust. If Microsoft was untrustworthy out of the gate this wouldn't be an issue since people would expect it. But the fact they changed all their tactics and are absolutely 100% trying to deceive people to get an end result shows their true colors.

It’s been 6 months since Microsoft released its latest OS to the public, and by now you've probably already seen tones of fact videos and articles. You know those lists that tell you how the Start menu is back, how you can switch between multiple desktops or how you can enable a hidden dark mode. And that’s all nice and jolly, but this time, we’re gonna do something different. Instead of telling you about things that you can find on your own, on your personal computer, I’m gonna take you just a bit deeper behind the scenes, and give you some of the stories surrounding the already famous Windows 10.
Did you know:
- Microsoft skipped Windows 9, and jumped from 8.1 to 10, so that legacy programs wouldn't confuse it with the two versions of the OS that contain the number 9 in their name - Windows 95 and 98.
- During a Microsoft Built conference, company employees wore a blue t-shirt with a Windows logo filled with binary code. The code had a secret message for those with the knowledge to crack it.
- The new and improved Start Menu that had it's comeback in Windows 10 was one of the most popular features of the new OS, but the man who practically invented it stated how it was actually disappointing.
- The default wallpaper for Windows 10 is called the Hero Desktop Image, and it was made entirely out of light!
- In January of 2016, Microsoft reported that Windows 10 was active on more than 200 million devices worldwide!
- Microsoft can literally listen to every sound you make, and see every key you type, thanks to Cortana and the ‘’Get to know me’’ option.
- Microsoft announced how Windows 10 is going to be the last version of Windows. But what does that really mean? Find out in the video...
