Boulevard of Broken Dreams (Green Day song)

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is a song by American punk rock band Green Day, recorded for their seventh studio album American Idiot (2004). Reprise Records released "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" as the second single from American Idiot. The song's lyrics were written by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and composed by the band. Production was handled by Rob Cavallo and Green Day. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" remains one of Green Day's signature songs.

The song speaks from the point of view of American Idiot's main character, Jesus of Suburbia, and is a moderate midtempo song characterized by somber and bleak lyrics. This is in contrast to the previous track on the album, "Holiday", which illustrates Jesus of Suburbia's high of being in The City. MTV's Green Day Makes a Video described "Holiday" as a party, and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" as the subsequent hangover.

The song was ranked the number one on Rolling Stone's Reader's Choice: Singles of the Decade list in 2009 and number 65 on the 100 Best Songs of the Decade list in the same year. It has sold over 2 million copies in the United States as of 2010. The single peaked at number two in the United States, making it Green Day's most successful song. The song was the ninth biggest selling single of the 2000-2009 decade with worldwide sales exceeding 5 million copies. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

I-GO was a Chicago-based car sharing organization owned by Enterprise Holdings. I-GO was established in 2002 by the Center for Neighborhood Technology as an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating and implementing new strategies that make urban communities more livable and environmentally sustainable. I-GO was sold to Enterprise Holdings in May 2013 and re-branded as Enterprise CarShare.

Mission

I-GO’s mission was to reduce car ownership rates, decrease transportation costs, reduce urban congestion and improve air quality in Chicago. From its inception, I-GO worked to catalyze a set of transportation innovations that make it feasible and desirable for Chicago residents to get around conveniently and economically without having to own a car and, at the same time, reduce vehicle miles traveled and greenhouse gas emissions. By contributing to the environmental improvement of the Chicago area and the decrease in expenses for residents, I-GO's triple bottom line impact provided a significant social return on investment.

Walk Alone

Walk Alone is the first album by American country music/Americana_(music) group Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash. It was recorded at Johnny Cash's home in Hendersonville, Tennessee following his personal invitation. This album was released in 2001 on the Ultimatum Music label.

I Walk Alone

I Walk Alone is a 1948 film noir directed by Byron Haskin, his directorial debut, and starring Burt Lancaster, Lizabeth Scott, and Kirk Douglas.

This was the first of several films that Lancaster and Douglas made together over the decades, including Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957), The Devil's Disciple (1959), Seven Days in May (1964), and Tough Guys (1986), establishing the pair as something of a team in the public's imagination. Douglas was always billed under Lancaster but, with the exception of I Walk Alone, their roles were usually more or less of the same importance.

Plot

Frankie Madison (Burt Lancaster) and Noll "Dink" Turner (Kirk Douglas) are rum-running partners during Prohibition. They get into a shootout with some would-be hijackers after their liquor, attracting the attention of the police. The two men split up, but not before making a bargain that if one is caught, he will still get an equal share when he gets out of jail. Frankie is sent to prison for 14 years. When he is finally set free, he goes to see Noll.

"I Walk" is the fifth English language album by German singer Herbert Grönemeyer, released in October 2012. All songs on this album are sung in English. Ten of these songs are English reworks of previous works, and three are newly written songs for this album.
