The Ayala Show

The Ayala Show is a live music television show broadcast every Friday at 10pm on Irish TV. The show is hosted by singer-songwriter Ayala, who each week introduces three artists of a variety of genres and styles. The first episode was broadcast on Friday, 9 October 2015.

Programme Format

Each episode features two or three artists, all of whom perform several songs from their repertoire, live in studio. The broadcast episode features a selection of these performances alongside interviews with the artists, while the performances which are not broadcast are uploaded to The Ayala Show's YouTube channel. Ayala features in each episode as the program’s host and also performs alongside many of the guest artists.

Travel Specials

Three episodes per series are travel specials, in which Ayala ventures out of the studio to meet artists both in the UK and internationally. These features focus on exploring the local music and culture of the visited region. Series 1 of The Ayala Show visits Cancale, France to meet gypsy jazz guitarist Dominique Carré, Mexico to meet Horacio Palencia and Noel Schajris, and finally to Los Angeles.

Rebecca

Rebecca (also spelled Rebekah) (Hebrew: רִבְקָה, Modern Rivká, Tiberian Riḇqā ISO 259-3 Ribqa,(AssyrianːܪܲܦܩܵܐːRapqa) from the Hebrew ribhqeh (lit., "connection"), from Semitic root r-b-q, "to tie, couple or join", "to secure", or "to snare") appears in the Hebrew Bible as the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau. Rebecca and Isaac were one of the four couples believed to be buried in the Cave of the Patriarchs, the other three being Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, and Jacob and Leah.

Early life

The news of her birth was told to her uncle Abraham before Akeidat Yitzchak (the Binding of Isaac), the episode in which Abraham was told by God to bring Isaac as a sacrifice on a mountain.

Many years after the Binding of Isaac, Sarah, Abraham's wife, died. After taking care of her burial, Abraham went about finding a wife for his son Isaac, who was already 37 years old. He commanded his servant (whom the Torah commentators identify as Eliezer of Damascus) to journey to his birthplace of Aram Naharaim to select a bride from his own family, rather than engage Isaac to a local Canaanite girl. Abraham sent along expensive jewelry, clothing and dainties as gifts to the bride and her family. If the girl had refused to follow him, Abraham stated that Eliezer would be absolved of his responsibility.

It's Friday

"It's Friday" is a song written and recorded by Canadian country music artist Dean Brody. It was released in September 2012 as the third single from his album Dirt. The song reached number 60 on the Canadian Hot 100 in November 2012. The song features an uncredited performance from Canadian folk-rock group Great Big Sea.

The music video was directed by Jeth Weinrich and premiered in September 2012. It features the Canadian band Great Big Sea on the video.

Covers

The song was covered by Derek Ryan in the style of Country and Irish accompanied by a music video. The single was released independently on Sharpe Music.

Chart performance

"It's Friday" debuted at number 83 on the Canadian Hot 100 for the week of October 13, 2012 and peaked at number 60 the week of November 24, 2012.

Rebecca Renee Black (born June 21, 1997) is an American singer and YouTuber who gained extensive media attention with the 2011 single "Friday". After the video went viral on YouTube and other social media sites, "Friday" was derided by many music critics and viewers, who dubbed it "the worst song ever". Rebecca went on to do other songs, of which her song "Saturday" sung with Dave Days earned more success. She currently uploads videos on her YouTube channel about various topics.

Early life and education

Black was born in Irvine, California. She is the daughter of John Jeffery Black and Georgina Marquez Kelly, both veterinarians. Her mother is of Mexican descent, and her father, originally from Iowa, is of English, Italian, and Polish descent. Black attended private school from kindergarten to 6th grade, and moved to a public school due to bullying. She joined the school's musical theater program, where she felt she was "meant to be." In April 2011, Black dropped out in favor of homeschooling, citing both a need to focus on her career and a desire to avoid taunts from her former classmates. Black was also failing English class due to her busy schedule.
