Get Up (Ciara song)

"Get Up" is a song by American recording artist Ciara. Released on July 25, 2006, the song serves as the first single from the original soundtrack to the film Step Up (2006), as well as the lead single for her second album, Ciara: The Evolution. It features American rapper Chamillionaire. The song was written by the singer and rapper with her mentor Jazze Pha, who produced the song. The song is a hip-hop number, accompanied by R&B and dance music sounds, while integrating a mild crunk beat. The song received generally positive reviews from music critics, who compared it to her previous work, namely "1, 2 Step."

The single received generally positive reviews from music critics with most of them praising the production of the song and the songs genre; the song was noted for containing "minimalist crunk grind which helped her debut sell three million copies". Additionally, the song was noted for being one og the highlights of the album being called "catchy, blipping track." Rebecca Renee Black (born June 21, 1997) is an American singer and YouTuber who gained extensive media attention with the 2011 single "Friday". After the video went viral on YouTube and other social media sites, "Friday" was derided by many music critics and viewers, who dubbed it "the worst song ever". Rebecca went on to do other songs, of which her song "Saturday" sung with Dave Days earned more success. She currently uploads videos on her YouTube channel about various topics.

Early life and education

Black was born in Irvine, California. She is the daughter of John Jeffery Black and Georgina Marquez Kelly, both veterinarians. Her mother is of Mexican descent, and her father, originally from Iowa, is of English, Italian, and Polish descent. Black attended private school from kindergarten to 6th grade, and moved to a public school due to bullying. She joined the school's musical theater program, where she felt she was "meant to be." In April 2011, Black dropped out in favor of homeschooling, citing both a need to focus on her career and a desire to avoid taunts from her former classmates. Black was also failing English class due to her busy schedule.

Rebecca (also spelled Rebekah) (Hebrew: רִבְקָה, Modern Rivká, Tiberian Riḇqā ISO 259-3 Ribqa,(AssyrianːܪܲܦܩܵܐːRapqa) from the Hebrew ribhqeh (lit., "connection"), from Semitic root r-b-q, "to tie, couple or join", "to secure", or "to snare") appears in the Hebrew Bible as the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau. Rebecca and Isaac were one of the four couples believed to be buried in the Cave of the Patriarchs, the other three being Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, and Jacob and Leah.

Early life

The news of her birth was told to her uncle Abraham before Akeidat Yitzchak (the Binding of Isaac), the episode in which Abraham was told by God to bring Isaac as a sacrifice on a mountain.

Many years after the Binding of Isaac, Sarah, Abraham's wife, died. After taking care of her burial, Abraham went about finding a wife for his son Isaac, who was already 37 years old. He commanded his servant (whom the Torah commentators identify as Eliezer of Damascus) to journey to his birthplace of Aram Naharaim to select a bride from his own family, rather than engage Isaac to a local Canaanite girl. Abraham sent along expensive jewelry, clothing and dainties as gifts to the bride and her family. If the girl had refused to follow him, Abraham stated that Eliezer would be absolved of his responsibility.

Get Busy

"Get Busy" is a 2003 dancehall song by Jamaican dancehall reggae toaster Sean Paul, from his album Dutty Rock. The song was one of the many hits from the jumpy handclap riddim known as the Diwali Riddim, produced by then-newcomer Steven "Lenky" Marsden, and was the only song that never made the "Diwali" rhythm album on Greensleeves Records as it was more than likely a late entry.

Paul described it as "...mainly a party song. It's not all about smoking weed." "Get Busy" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks from 10 May 2003, preceded by "In Da Club" by 50 Cent and replaced by "21 Questions" by 50 Cent featuring Nate Dogg. It was performed live on Saturday Night Live in May 2003.

Remix

The official remix, "Get Busy (Clap Your Hands Now Remix)", features rapper Fatman Scoop and The Crooklyn Clan, the remix uses the instrumental of Sean Paul's previous single,"Gimme the Light", on the near end of the song.

Music video

The video for "Get Busy" (directed by Little X) was shot in Woodbridge, Ontario, and released in February 2003. The video was also nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Dance Video and Best New Artist in 2003. At the end of the video Paul's brother Jason introduces a song, noting it as a brand new single, and Paul then sings part of "Like Glue". Kardinal Offishall makes a cameo appearance in the video.
