Pokémon GO search rises by 136 per cent on PornHub since launch

Porn and Pokémon GO? Really, you might ask, but if PornHub’s latest insights published on July 11 showcase, Pokémons have taken over the porn world as well.

PornHub’s data shows search around ‘pokémon’ was up by 136 per cent, compared to the daily average prior to the launch of the game. So clearly ‘pokemon’ porn is nothing new, but suddenly a lot more popular.

The world’s leading porn website expects this new found love for ‘pokémons’ won’t go away any time soon, and expects further increase in search interest. PornHub has relied on Google Analytics to get these stats.

PornHub’s data shows just like Minecraft fans, men (at 62 per cent) are more likely hunting for Pokémons on the porn site. And also the younger population is more interested in Pokémons, as the search for Pokémons on Pornhub are 336 per cent more popular among 18-24 year olds.

Android users (51 per cent) are also ahead of Apple iOS users when hunting for porn on Pokémons.

Using Google’s anonymised data, which includes interests, PornHub determined that “Adventure & Strategy fans” came out on top, followed by Roleplaying and Action Game fans, who hunted for Pokémon on the site.

Country-wise data shows that of the 20 Pokemon-interested countries in the list, most are in Central and South America with Bolivia in the lead.

Pokémon GO is a game that uses augmented reality and geo-positioning on a smartphone to lead players in their hunt for the magical creatures.

Within just days of the launch, the game threatens to beat established social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Tinder, etc in the US. According to a recent report by SurveyMonkey, the app is already the biggest mobile game in US history.
