Tedim (Burmese: တီတိန်မြို့; Official name Tiddim) is a town and seat of Tedim Township in Chin State in the north-western part of Burma. The name "Tedim" was derived from a pool on the top of the hills that used to be twinkling under sun's light, therefore, called "te (bright, shine)" and "dim (twinkling, sparkling)" in local Zomi language. There are four major parts or divisions in Tedim (inside Tedim town) such as Sakollam, Myoma, Lawibual and Leilum. It is the largest population in Chin State. They are known as Zomi
As a result of lack of a formal writing system in the past, the story of Tedim mostly depends on oral traditions. The first establishment of Tedim is ascribed to Gui Mang II, a powerful prince from the then ruling Guite family in the region (c. 1600). However, due to the untimely death of Gui Lun (the fifth generation from Gui Mang II), Tedim was deserted for two generations. By the time of Pum Go, Tedim was reestablished as the political base of the Guite family. At the time of Mang Suum II, son of Pum Go, the allied force of the Pawihangs began their advance in the region and attacked Tedim. Tedim was again deserted by many, though some local residents survived under the leadership of Mang Gin from the Hatlang family. In 1840, in order to secure peace, the remaining citizens invited the leadership of Kam Hau of Mualbem, of the emerging Sukte family, since they had good military and political ties with the Zahau family of the Pawis.
Chin State (Burmese: ချင်းပြည်နယ်; MLCTS: hkyang: pranynai, pronounced: [tɕʰɪ́ɴ pjìnɛ̀]) is a state in western Myanmar. The 36,019-square-kilometre (13,907 sq mi) Chin State is bordered by Rakhine State in the south, Bangladesh in the south-west, Sagaing Division and Magway Division in the east, the Indian state of Manipur in the north and the Indian state of Mizoram in the west. The Chin ethnic group make up the majority of the state's 500,000 people. The capital of the state is Hakha. The state is a mountainous region with few transportation links. Chin State is sparsely populated and remains one of the least developed areas of the country. Chin State has the highest poverty rate of 73% as per the released figures from the first official survey.
The Ching peoples entered the Chin Hills in the first millennium AD as part of the wider migration of Ching/Qin/Chin peoples into the area. For much of history, the sparsely populated Chin Hills were ruled by local chiefs. Some historians (Arthur Phayre, Tun Nyein) put Pateikkaya in eastern Bengal, thus placing the entire Chin Hills under Pagan suzerainty but others, like Harvey, citing stone inscriptions, put it near the eastern Chin Hills. (Burmese Chronicles report the kings of Pateikkaya as Indian though the ethnicity of the subjects is not explicitly cited.)
Pau Cin Hau is the founder and the name of a religion followed by some Tedim and Hakha Chin in the north-western part of Burma.
Pau Cin Hau was born at Lailui Khua, in the Tedim Khuapi Uksung in 1859; and lived until 1948. He started a religious movement based on the worship of a god known as Pasian.
He also invented a script known as "tual lai" ('local script') or "zo tual lai", now called Pau Cin Hau. Today, apart from the Pau Cin Hau system for transcribing Chin languages, there is also a written language for them using the Roman alphabet.
Pau Cin Hau's religion is also known as "Laipian" ('script religion'), and Pau Cin Hau is also known as "Laipianpa" ('script religion creator').
The Pau Cin Hau alphabet was added to the Unicode Standard in June, 2014 with the release of version 7.0.
The Unicode block for the Pau Cin Hau alphabet is U+11AC0–U+11AFF:

Traditional life in the capital of Chin State
Pau Cin Hau was born in 1859 in Teddim. As a young boy he had dreams that predicted, among other things, the British invasion. His family fled Teddim for nearby Lailui village, where from 1888 to 1902 he was bedridden with sickness. Here he claimed to be visited by visions from God, who instructed him to wipe out the tradition of sacrificial rites and reform the people’s religion. It was not, however, the Christian God who spoke to Pau Cin Hau. While both came to be known by the same name – Pasian – this God was another god: a monotheistic god, yes, and one who ruled all creation, unveiled beliefs to a prophet “son”, and used angels and trumpets to spread messages, but one which was entirely independent of Christian teaching. “I had faith in him and in a moment was cured from my illness ...
