Rachael MacFarlane

Rachael Ann MacFarlane (born March 21, 1976) is an American voice actress and singer best known as the voice of character Hayley Smith on the animated television show American Dad!, which was created by her brother Seth MacFarlane. She also voiced supreme leader Numbuh 362 in Codename: Kids Next Door. In addition to voice acting, MacFarlane has also been involved in other aspects of animation, such as being a production manager for The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Welcome to Eltingville, and she wrote an episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, titled "Educating Grim".

Early life

MacFarlane was born in Kent, Connecticut. Her parents, Ronald Milton MacFarlane (born 1946) and Ann Perry Sager (1947–2010), were born in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Her brother is filmmaker, animator, and voice actor Seth MacFarlane (born 1973). She is of English, Scottish, and Irish descent. MacFarlane's parents met in 1970, when they both lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts, and married later that year. The couple moved to Kent in 1972, where Ann began working in the Admissions Office at South Kent School. She later worked in the College Guidance and Admissions Offices at the Kent School, a selective college preparatory school where Ronald also was a teacher.

Dee Bradley Baker

Dee Bradley Baker (born August 31, 1962) is an American voice actor. His major roles include animated series such as American Dad!, Codename: Kids Next Door, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and The 7D, live-action series such as Legends of the Hidden Temple and Shop 'til You Drop, films such as The Boxtrolls and video games such as Halo, Gears of War, Viewtiful Joe, and Spore.

Early life

Baker was born in Bloomington, Indiana, and grew up in Greeley, Colorado. He started performing at age nine and steadily worked in musicals, operas, plays, and stand-up. Regarding his early life, Baker said in an interview with VO Studio that he was a fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Frank Zappa, the Planet of the Apes, and also liked insects, arthropods, and dinosaurs. He graduated from University High School, and received a Boettcher Scholarship. He attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he studied philosophy, biology, fine arts, and German, the last of which he studied overseas for a year at the University of Goettingen. He was involved in local theater productions and singing groups. After graduating with a BA in philosophy, he was involved in many community theatre projects, including a sketch movie that aired on local public television.

American Dad!

American Dad! is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman for the Fox Broadcasting Company.American Dad! is the first television series to have its inception on Animation Domination. The series premiere aired on February 6, 2005, following Super Bowl XXXIX, three months before the rest of the first season aired as part of the Animation Domination block, commencing on May 1, 2005.

Creative direction of American Dad! has largely been guided by Barker (prior to his exit from the show in season 10) and Weitzman as opposed to MacFarlane, resulting in a series that is different from its counterparts. Unlike its sister shows, Family Guy and The Cleveland Show, American Dad! does not lean as heavily on the use of cutaway gags, and is less concerned with conventional "setup-punchline" jokes, instead deriving its humor mostly from the quirky characters, the relationships between family members, and the relatively relatable plots. The show is not as heavy on pop cultural allusions as MacFarlane's Family Guy, and is more concerned with telling stories while maintaining the integrity and realism of the family members. While the core issues and resolutions are relatable in most episodes, the show nonetheless weaves in fantastical elements, pitching the tone of the show somewhere between observational comedy and farce. The plots are often absurd, but they are grounded by family stories and real-world issues.

List of American Dad! episodes

American Dad! is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman, for the Fox Broadcasting Company. Set in the fictional town of Langley Falls, Virginia, the series centers on the eccentric Smith family and their three housemates. The Smith family consists of title character Stan, Francine, Hayley, and Steve, and their three housemates are Roger, an alien whom Stan has rescued from government capture and harbors in the family's attic; Jeff Fischer, Hayley's boyfriend and eventual husband; and Klaus, the family's pet who is really an East German man trapped in a fish's body.

Since its debut on February 6, 2005, American Dad! has broadcast 193 episodes. The series' 11th season was its final season to air on Fox. The show moved to the cable network TBS beginning with the 15-episode 12th season. On November 18, 2014, TBS ordered a 22-episode 13th season, bringing the total number of episodes to 212. On August 27, 2015, TBS announced it had picked up American Dad! for a 14th and 15th season of 22 episodes each, bringing the total number of episodes up to 256.
