Clearing swampsharks from the swamp, meeting several bandits, and getting a little closer to being able to enter their camp. Poor Edgor, a bandit who can't return to the bandit camp.

Gothic II: Night of the Raven is a PC game created using the
Gothic gaming engine, developed by
Piranha Bytes and published by
JoWooD Productions and
Atari on
November 29,
2002 in Germany,
June 13, 2003, and
October 28, 2003.
The game is a fantasy
RPG, played in 3OTS (third-person over-the-shoulder) perspective.
Players have the option of choosing either the classic Gothic I controls or to choose a new set of controls (for this playthrough,
I am just using the Gothic I key bindings, though with the same remapping I did there).
Gothic II sees the
Nameless Hero buried under rubble after the end of Gothic. Xardas retrieves him and tells him of a new threat: the
Sleeper, just before being banished into its own dimension, called out to all evil creatures: "Come!" And so, now an army of evil is positioning itself to strike.
It's up to the Nameless Hero to stop the threat by convincing the paladins to aid him and obtaining the Eye of
Innos. Will
Khorinis, and even Myrtana, be overrun by the forces of evil? Let's Play to see what happens!

POSSIBLE PATCHES:
If you have a computer OS later than
Windows XP, you may have some difficulty running the game.
The following is the process I used to get the game running on my
Windows 7 64-bit operating system.
DISCLAIMER:
As of the time of creating this playlist, these links were error-free and virus-free.
Download and apply at your own discretion! I make no claims to their use other than what my own experience showed. I cannot be held liable for what you download willingly from other Web sites!
1.) Install the initial Gothic II game.
2.) Install the Night of the Raven add-in IN THE SAME
FOLDER as the normal game (instead of choosing a separate folder that the installer wants to use).
3.) Night of the Raven ONLY: Install the 2.6 patch that fixes bugs in the game and gives more detailed
error logs, found here: http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_278
.htm (the second link is the file I installed, called "gothic2_fix-2.
6.0.0-rev2.exe").
4.) Install the VDFS patch (an UNOFFICIAL and UNSUPPORTED patch), found at http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_104.htm (the patch is the only link at the bottom to choose)
. If the game won't start at all or you get a "VDFS init tool: error on initializing the virtual file system" error, this patch may fix it.
5.
Right-click on
Gothic2.exe in the folder where the game is installed and choose Properties. In Properties, go to the
Security tab and mark the box at the bottom labeled "Run as
Administrator."
6
. In the same folder where Gothic II was installed, right-click on the Gothic.ini file.
Change to "Run as Administrator" for this file as well, and then open it with a text editor.
7. Locate the [
VIDEO] section of the .ini file and adjust zVidResFullscreenX, zVidResFullscreenY, and zVidResFullscreenBPP to the values you want (for this playthrough, I'm doing
1920, 1080, and 32, respectively).
8. Locate the [
INTERNAL] section of the .ini file and change the value of extendedMenu to 1 (instead of the default 0).
Save the file and close it.
9. Locate the following path within the Gothic II folder you created during installation: \Gothic II\_work\
Data\
Scripts\CONTENT\CUTSCENE
10. Rename the Ou.dat file to Ou
.bin and rename Ou.lsc to Ou.csl - this will allow cutscene voice and subtitles to be displayed.
