Data (/ˈdeɪtə/ DAY-tə, /ˈdætə/ DA-tə, or /ˈdɑːtə/ DAH-tə) is a set of values of qualitative or quantitative variables; restated, pieces of data are individual pieces of information. Data is measured, collected and reported, and analyzed, whereupon it can be visualized using graphs or images. Data as a general concept refers to the fact that some existing information or knowledge is represented or coded in some form suitable for better usage or processing.
Raw data, i.e. unprocessed data, is a collection of numbers, characters; data processing commonly occurs by stages, and the "processed data" from one stage may be considered the "raw data" of the next. Field data is raw data that is collected in an uncontrolled in situ environment. Experimental data is data that is generated within the context of a scientific investigation by observation and recording.
The Latin word "data" is the plural of "datum", and still may be used as a plural noun in this sense. Nowadays, though, "data" is most commonly used in the singular, as a mass noun (like "information", "sand" or "rain").

Defender(s) or The Defender(s) may refer to:
A television advertisement (variously called a television commercial, commercial or ad in American English, and known in British English as an advert) is a span of television programming produced and paid for by an organization, which conveys a message, typically to market a product or service. Advertising revenue provides a significant portion of the funding for most privately owned television networks. The vast majority of television advertisements today consist of brief advertising spots, ranging in length from a few seconds to several minutes (as well as program-length infomercials). Advertisements of this sort have been used to promote a wide variety of goods, services and ideas since the beginning of television.
The effects of television advertising upon the viewing public (and the effects of mass media in general) have been the subject of philosophical discourse by such luminaries as Marshall McLuhan. The viewership of television programming, as measured by companies such as Nielsen Media Research, is often used as a metric for television advertisement placement, and consequently, for the rates charged to advertisers to air within a given network, television program, or time of day (called a "daypart").
AT&T Broadband is AT&T's cable operations, which were composed of the assets of TCI and MediaOne, Prime Cable, as well as two Comcast cable systems (Sacramento, California and northern DeKalb County, Georgia) AT&T acquired later in a system swap. Formed in 1999, AT&T Broadband was the largest provider of cable television services. Media and online services for AT&T Broadband customers were originally provided by either RoadRunner or Excite@Home. In late 2000, AT&T Broadband acquired several Paragon Cable assets in Oregon and Texas during its merger with Time Warner. AT&T spent over $105 billion to form the cable unit, agreed to sell to Comcast initially for $72 billion, but settled at $47.5 billion due to the declining market.
AT&T went through a corporate restructuring process in 2002, which called for AT&T Wireless, AT&T Business, AT&T Consumer, and AT&T Broadband all to become separate companies. Only AT&T Wireless was spun off (although repurchased later by AT&T), and AT&T Broadband was purchased by Comcast in 2003.

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco startup Plenty specialized in vertical farming has secured $200 million from investors including Japanese media corporation SoftBank, the parent company of Google, Alphabet and Amazon. Plenty grows their plants vertically on the sides of a tall tower. Lights are also arranged vertically to give the plants maximum amount of exposure. The vertical farm can grow up to 350 times more produce than conventional farm in the same amount of space, using less water too, Fast Company reported. According to the BBC, the firm is planning on building indoor vertical farms with the size up to five acres, which is roughly the size of big supermarkets like Walmart. The facilities will be built next to large cities in order to reduce the amount of delivery time. "We believe...

Yen weakness remains likely ahead of this week's BOJ meeting. Sterling is bid following the BOE minutes/retail sales and the Euro looks somewhat capped by ongoing issues in Europe. FOMC is the highlight of a heavy US schedule in the week ahead.

Though lawyers work with big data frequently, or at least privacy attorneys do, it isn't something the law firms they work for often employ. But—they should. In speaking with LXBN TV at the 2013 Legal Marketing Technology Conference West, BoardEx Chairman Dick MacWilliams explains that law firms rand to benefit from utilizing big data.
Soft German data kept a lid on the Euro. Sterling was given a boost after the BOE lowered hopes of future I/R cuts. A busy day ahead with data out of NZ, Australia, China before the ECB Monthly report and then some US numbers, which should all add up to provide for a busy session.

The pandas and scikit-learn packages combine together to produce a powerful toolkit for data analytics. In this talk, we will be using them together to analyse the outcome of NBA games, trying to predict the winner of a match. There is plenty of data out there to allow us to create good predictions – the key is getting it in the right format and building the right model. In this talk we will go through importing data from the net, cleaning it up, creating new features, and building a predictive model. We then evaluate how well we did, using recent NBA data. The model we use will be a decision tree ensemble called a random forest. PyCon Australia is the national conference for users of the Python Programming Language. Based on unemployment rates, rural economies appear to be recovering from the great recession. Moreover, plenty of anecdotal and other data provides evidence that many rural employers have jobs available and no one to fill them. At the same time, the most recent American Community Survey data documents more than 1.5 million rural residents who are working poor – meaning they are working but earning below the federal poverty rate, and living one emergency away from losing their job. Other would-be rural employees aren’t filling the vacant jobs because they lack training or can’t manage their family commitments while working the hours employers require. What to do in these situations? Rural business, non-profit and education innovators are implementing strategies to help rural residents ...

It's been another very busy week in FX markets, starting with elections in Germany and New Zealand and followed by a huge amount of data releases and central bank policy maker appearances. With central banks becoming far more active once again as the Federal Reserve, ECB, Bank of England and Bank of Canada all begin either tightening monetary policy or removing stimulus, officials are in demand and their comments are ensuring markets remain volatile. With geopolitical risk lingering in the background and US President Donald Trump unveiling his long-awaited tax reforms, there's plenty to talk about. Next week is unlikely to be any quieter, with numerous central bankers due to appear once again including Fed Chair Janet Yellen. The Catalonia (illegal) independence referendum over the weeke...

Smart grid, smart phone.... smart toaster? In the near future, theorists say, virtually every kind of object and device will be digitized and Web-enabled. That's a simple synopsis of the ballyhooed Internet of Things. You'll not only command your appliances remotely, but they'll be striking up conversations among themselves. Eventually, trillions of objects will be networked, each one animated by information, and generating plenty of it as well. In the Internet of Things era, Big Data will get much, much bigger. Who will control this data, and how will it be used? Another risk: With everything online, the terrain of hacking expands. Who'll be privy to your medical alerts? Will your TV see what's happening on the sofa? From the user's point of view, will there be a technical standard or wil...

The OSINT and reconnaissance landscape is beginning to face some challenges. Current valuable sources such as open sourced lists are already facing offensive and malicious data poisoning. Privacy laws are creating barriers in many areas, and as court rulings are levying increasing fines for playing fast and loose with user data privacy. Social media companies are starting to realize that they actually need to start making profits, and are restricting their data. Sites are aggressively combating web crawling, services like TOR and VPN face uncertain futures, the list of potential hurdles to the future of OSINT and recon seems grim. But fear not. There is still hope - and plenty of it. This presentation will discuss both the challenges and changes to both offensive and defensive reconnaissa...
Dr. Michel Dumontier from Stanford University presents a lecture on "Ontologies." Lecture Description Ontology has its roots as a field of philosophical study that is focused on the nature of existence. However, today's ontology (aka knowledge graph) can incorporate computable descriptions that can bring insight in a wide set of compelling applications including more precise knowledge capture, semantic data integration, sophisticated query answering, and powerful association mining - thereby delivering key value for health care and the life sciences. In this webinar, I will introduce the idea of computable ontologies and describe how they can be used with automated reasoners to perform classification, to reveal inconsistencies, and to precisely answer questions. Participants will learn ab...
I feel so restless like I never felt before
I wanna fight them and I am losing control now
You're running too fast but I swear you will no more
Cause it's our last chance to come back and fix it all
I want to break down all the shields around your heart
I need your touch now even if we stand too far
You'll see me around and it's never been so hard
Cause we are soul bound and you'll give me other scars
[Chorus:]
Please stay with me
As I keep running and running again
And if its wrong or its right I don't care
You look so wasted like you never looked before
I know you'll find it between the pages of your life
This is the right way for the end of useless crimes
While we were fighting the time was running out
I’ll keep your secrets in the deepest of my heart
Then all the movies we used to watch all night
Before the fireworks and all the plans that we made
