James Patterson (born 1947) is an American author.
James or Jim Patterson may also refer to:
The Poudre Canyon is a narrow verdant canyon, approximately 40 mi (64 km) long, on the upper Cache la Poudre River (called the "Poudre" for short, which locals pronounce as "Pooder") in Larimer County, Colorado in the United States. The canyon is a glacier-formed valley through the foothills of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains northwest of Fort Collins.
The canyon begins in northern Rocky Mountain National Park, at an elevation of approximately 9,000 feet, where the Poudre descends from near the continental divide. It winds gently to the northeast, then east, descending the slope of the Colorado Tertiary Pediment, emerging through the southern end of the Laramie Foothills north of Bellvue at an elevation of approximately 5,000 feet. Except for the small upper portion of the canyon north of Rocky Mountain National Park, State Highway 14 runs through the canyon. The route of the highway provides the principal vehicle access to the canyon and furnishes a road link between Fort Collins and North Park on the western side of Cameron Pass, which is accessible from the upper canyon. Most of the canyon is within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Roosevelt National Forest, which is headquartered in nearby Fort Collins.
Horsetooth Reservoir (often known locally as Horsetooth) is a large reservoir in southern Larimer County, Colorado just west of the city of Fort Collins, Colorado. The reservoir sits in the foothills above the town on the western side of the Dakota Hogback, which contains the reservoir along its eastern side. The reservoir runs north-south for approximately 6.5 miles (10 km), and is approximately one-half mile (1 km) wide. The reservoir was constructed in 1949 by the Bureau of Reclamation as part of its federal Colorado-Big Thompson Project or "C-BT." Water distribution is currently managed by the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District and Bureau of Reclamation . Horsetooth and Carter Lake serve as the two principal containers for water diverted eastward under the continental divide via the C-BT.
The reservoir is a supplementary source of municipal water for Fort Collins and other communities in the region, as well as for irrigation in the South Platte River valley. The reservoir takes its name from Horsetooth Mountain, a summit in the foothills west of the southern end of the reservoir.
The Tonight Show is an American late-night talk show broadcast from the Rockefeller Center in New York City and airing on NBC since 1954. It is the world's longest-running talk show, and the longest running, regularly scheduled entertainment program in the United States. It is the third-longest-running show on NBC, after only the news-and-talk shows Today and Meet the Press.
Over the course of more than 60 years, The Tonight Show has undergone only minor title changes. It aired under the name Tonight for several of its early years, eventually settling on The Tonight Show after the seating of long-time host Johnny Carson in 1962. In later decades, network programmers, advertisers, and the show's announcers would refer to the show by including the name of the host; for example, it is currently announced as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In 1957, the show briefly tried a more news-style format. It has otherwise remained a talk show throughout its run.
The Tonight Show began broadcasting in 1954. It has had six official hosts, beginning with Steve Allen (1954–57), followed by Jack Paar (1957–62), Johnny Carson (1962–92), Jay Leno (1992–2009, 2010–14), Conan O'Brien (2009–10), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present). It has had several recurring guest hosts, a practice especially common during the Paar and Carson eras.
James Joseph "Jim" Parsons (born March 24, 1973) is an American actor. He is known for playing Sheldon Cooper in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. He has received several awards for his performance, including four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.
In 2011, Parsons made his Broadway debut portraying Tommy Boatwright in the play The Normal Heart, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination. He reprised the role in the film adaptation of the play, and received his seventh Emmy nomination, this time in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. On January 29, 2015, it was announced that Parsons would be returning to Broadway as God in the new play An Act of God, which opened in May 2015.
Jim Parsons was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas, and was raised in one of its northern suburbs, Spring. He is the son of Milton Joseph "Mickey/Jack" Parsons, Jr. (February 6, 1949 – April 29, 2001) and teacher Judy Ann (née McKnight). His sister Julie Ann Parsons is also a teacher. He attended Klein Oak High School in Spring. Parsons points to a role in Noises Off during his junior year as the first time "I fully connected with the role I was playing and started to truly understand what it meant to be honest on stage." After playing the role of the Kola-Kola bird in a school production of The Elephant's Child at age six, Parsons was determined to become an actor. The young Parsons was heavily influenced by sitcoms, particularly Three's Company, Family Ties, and The Cosby Show.

This music comes originally from Pachelbel's "Canon and Gigue in D" which was written for 3 violins and Basso Continuo (in baroque music, this is a bass part usually supplemented and expanded by harpsichord), though it has been arranged numerous times for various instruments and ensembles. This is a simple piano arrangement which I created for the mfiles site, and it has been one of our most popular downloads with a number of performances already available on YouTube. The sheet music can be downloaded from www.mfiles.co.uk - see this link: http://www.mfiles.co.uk/scores/pachelbels-canon-arranged.htm The Music Files website also has many other pieces and arrangements for download, including Pachelbel's Canon arranged for four SATB recorders.
Martin's 5: Battle for the Beach explores the Surfrider Foundation’s fight to keep America's beaches open to the public through the lens of a monumental court case in San Mateo County, California that will have larger implications on beach access issues in the United States. The short film is the second in The Inertia's documentary series. "We wanted to provide a snapshot of one of the many ongoing beach access campaigns Surfrider is championing," said Zach Weisberg, Co-Producer and Publisher at The Inertia. “We hope this film raises awareness for beach access issues nationwide and motivates people to make an impact by getting involved in that conversation.” Join the fight by logging on to www.surfrider.org/access and make a donation to support Surfrider’s fight for beach access here: ht...

Most of the time when you hear honeymoon vacation, you'd probably think Pina Colada, beach, swaying palms and Sun. As a landscape photographer and nature lover myself, i talked my wife into making a not so ordinary honeymoon, a 3000miles road trip of photography, videography and time-lapse, from California, to Nevada, to Utah, to Arizona and back to California. I thank my wife Kay Kay for holding on with me on many tough hikes and windy conditions throughout the trip. While for saving money, our diet was made up by nearly 70% Subway sandwiches, thank God my friend Jim Patterson told us to try Mobo Sushi in Santa Cruz and boy it was good. Sow's Ear is also not bad which is located in the heart of Cambria. "Jordan Lye, thanks for your extra tripod." "Hark, hope we'll shoot together next ...

“INTO THE COSMOS” is ChopsyAnimations (www.chopsyanimation.com) first foray into the world of music videos, a tie-in with music maker Architeq from Tirk Records. Originally it was conceived as a short film by Chopsy (director Darren Robbie), with a simple premise: “what happens to all the old vinyl people used to play? From out of attics, rubbish bins & forgotten shelving, the records are summoned to an old warehouse by a mysterious ‘collector’.” Using a combination of stop-frame, pixilation, live-action & time lapse animation, it was shot in a variety of locations around Bristol & was created by shooting entirely in camera whenever possible (at other times multiple passes were combined). By shooting each frame within a specific timescale for the external shots, we see vinyl records i...
A cult classic from circa 2001. Tom Blackford and I shot this footage with an old Sony DV camera loaned to us by Chris Thorndike. Tam (Tom) had been shooting for awhile before I started helping out. We were motivated to show case all the new bouldering our friends had been developing in the Fort Collins area. In the end I gave myself a crash course in Final Cut pro and boom, Fort Collins first feature length bouldering video was born. We ran a half-ass premier at the Aggie Theatre and I think Tam printed about 100 VHS copies which disappeared quickly. A few years later I made a DVD version, Solutions 2.0, and burnt about 50 copies one at a time on an old G4. People have been harassing me for a copy for years now, but I always just told them it was out of print. Hopefully people will enjo...
