A private company limited by shares, usually called a private limited company (Ltd.) (though this can theoretically also refer to a private company limited by guarantee), is a type of company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales, Scotland, that of certain Commonwealth countries and the Republic of Ireland. It has shareholders with limited liability and its shares may not be offered to the general public, unlike those of a public limited company (plc).
"Limited by shares" means that the company has shareholders, and that the liability of the shareholders to creditors of the company is limited to the capital originally invested, i.e. the nominal value of the shares and any premium paid in return for the issue of the shares by the company. A shareholder's personal assets are thereby protected in the event of the company's insolvency, but money invested in the company will be lost.

Leukotriene D4
Leukotriene D4 (LTD4) is one of the leukotrienes. Its function main in the body is to induce the contraction of smooth muscle, resulting in bronchoconstriction and vasoconstriction. It also increases vascular permeability. LTD-4 is released by basophils. Other leukotrienes that function in a similar manner are leukotrienes C4 and E4. Pharmacological agents that inhibit the function of these leukotrienes are leukotriene receptor antagonists (e.g. Zafirlukast, montelukast) and are useful for asthmatic individuals.

A private company limited by shares, usually called a private limited company (Ltd.) (though this can theoretically also refer to a private company limited by guarantee), is a type of company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales, Scotland, that of certain Commonwealth countries and the Republic of Ireland. It has shareholders with limited liability and its shares may not be offered to the general public, unlike those of a public limited company (plc).
"Limited by shares" means that the company has shareholders, and that the liability of the shareholders to creditors of the company is limited to the capital originally invested, i.e. the nominal value of the shares and any premium paid in return for the issue of the shares by the company. A shareholder's personal assets are thereby protected in the event of the company's insolvency, but money invested in the company will be lost.

Long-term depression, or LTD, is a process by which synaptic connections between neurons are weakened. Although the functions of LTD are not completely understood, it may be important to memory formation---perhaps by resetting previous synaptic changes to allow for new memories to be formed via long-term potentiation (LTP). In this video, I discuss the best understood mechanism underlying LTD, which involves AMPA and NMDA glutamate receptors.

Welcome to 2 minute neuroscience, where I simplistically explain neuroscience topics in 2 minutes or less. In this installment I will discuss long-term depression, or LTD.
LTD is a process by which synaptic connections between neurons become weaker. It is the opposing process to long-term potentiation. Although the functions of LTD are not completely understood, it’s thought to be important to memory formation, perhaps by resetting previous synaptic changes to allow for new memories to be formed via long-term potentiation.
There are several different mechanisms by which LTD may occur, but the best understood of them involves the same glutamate receptors involved in long-term potentiation: NMDA and AMPA receptors. NMDA receptors are typically blocked by a magnesium ion, which is only removed if the postsynaptic neuron becomes sufficiently depolarized as can occur through activation of the AMPA receptor; when the block is removed, calcium is able to flow into the neuron, causing further depolarization. While long-term potentiation typically occurs after brief but high-intensity stimulation of a post-synaptic neuron, LTD can be caused by prolonged low-intensity stimulation or stimulation that occurs after the firing of an action potential. With the type of modest stimulation that results in LTD, there is not enough depolarization to cause widespread removal of the magnesium blockage of the NMDA receptor. However, there is enough to cause some NMDA receptors to allow calcium into the cell. This low level of calcium is insufficient to activate the enzymes that facilitate long-term potentiation, but it is thought to activate a cellular cascade that causes the removal of AMPA receptors. This reduces the number of glutamate receptors on the postsynaptic neuron and weakens the synapse.
LTD may also result in other changes that decrease the strength of synapses, like a decrease in the amount of glutamate released from the presynaptic neuron, and it also can involve other receptors like metabotropic glutamate receptors or other neurotransmitter receptors altogether.

Prostaglandins are released from endothelial and inflammatory cells such as macrophages or dendritic cells
They stimulate nerve endings producing a state of hyperalgesia
Which makes nerves more sensitive to painful stimuli.
In the blood vessels prostaglandins induce vasodilation
which is reflected as heat and redness at the site of inflammation
Additionally, prostaglandins increase blood flow and vascular permeability
Which result in increased leakage of fluids and inflammatory cells towards extravascular compartments
leading to edema formation
edema or swelling is the fourth cardinal sign of inflammation
Now we will discuss the fifth cardinal sign of inflammation which is loss of function, and the role of leukotrienes in mediating inflammatory process, in the respiratory pathways
Leukotrienes C4 and D4
Induce bronchoconstriction,
and enhance mucous production and accumulation in the respiratory pathways
Which negatively affect the respiratory functions
Additionally, they induce damage in the respiratory protective cilia

Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swells and produce extra mucus. This can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the airways to the lungs. It makes breathing difficult and can make some physical activities difficult or even impossible. Asthma symptoms occur when the lining of your airways swell and the muscles around them tighten. The mucus then fills the airways, further reducing the amount of air that can pass through.
Asthma signs and symptoms include:
1. Shortness of breath
2. Chest tightness or pain
3. Trouble sleeping caused by shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing
4. A whistling or wheezing sound when exhaling (wheezing is a common sign of asthma in children)
5. Coughing or wheezing attacks that are worsened by a respiratory virus, such as a cold or the flu
Asthma triggers
Exposure to various irritants and substances that trigger allergies (allergens) can trigger signs and symptoms of asthma. Asthma triggers are different from person to person and can include:
1. Airborne substances, such as pollen, dust mites, mould spores, pet dander or particles of cockroach waste
2. Respiratory infections, such as the common cold
3. Physical activity (exercise-induced asthma)
4. Cold air
5. Air pollutants and irritants, such as smoke

Private company limited by shares
A private company limited by shares, usually called a private limited company (Ltd.) (though this can theoretically also refer to a private company limited by guarantee), is the private limited type of company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales, Scotland, that of certain Commonwealth countries and the Republic of Ireland. It has shareholders with limited liability and its shares may not be offered to the general public, unlike those of a public limited company (plc).
"Limited by shares" means that the company has shareholders, and that the liability of the shareholders to creditors of the company is limited to the capital originally invested, i.e. the nominal value of the shares and any premium paid in return for the issue of the shares by the company. A shareholder's personal assets are thereby protected in the event of the company's insolvency, but money invested in the company will be lost.
A limited company may be "private" or "public". A private limited company's disclosure requirements are lighter, but for this reason its shares may not be offered to the general public (and therefore cannot be traded on a public stock exchange). This is the major distinguishing feature between a private limited company and a public limited company. Most companies, particularly small companies, are private.

Long-term depression, or LTD, is a process by which synaptic connections between neurons are weakened. Although the functions of LTD are not completely understood, it may be important to memory formation---perhaps by resetting previous synaptic changes to allow for new memories to be formed via long-term potentiation (LTP). In this video, I discuss the best understood mechanism underlying LTD, which involves AMPA and NMDA glutamate receptors.
TRANSCRIPT:
Welcome to 2 minute neuroscience, where I simplistically explain neuroscience topics in 2 minutes or less. In this installment I will discuss long-term depression, or LTD.
LTD is a process by which synaptic connections between neurons become weaker. It is the opposing process to long-term potentiation. Although the functions of LTD are not completely understood, it’s thought to be important to memory formation, perhaps by resetting previous synaptic changes to allow for new memories to be formed via long-term potentiation.
There are several different mechanisms by which LTD may occur, but the best understood of them involves the same glutamate receptors involved in long-term potentiation: NMDA and AMPA receptors. NMDA receptors are typically blocked by a magnesium ion, which is only removed if the postsynaptic neuron becomes sufficiently depolarized as can occur through activation of the AMPA receptor; when the block is removed, calcium is able to flow into the neuron, causing further depolarization. While long-term potentiation typically occurs after brief but high-intensity stimulation of a post-synaptic neuron, LTD can be caused by prolonged low-intensity stimulation or stimulation that occurs after the firing of an action potential. With the type of modest stimulation that results in LTD, there is not enough depolarization to cause widespread removal of the magnesium blockage of the NMDA receptor. However, there is enough to cause some NMDA receptors to allow calcium into the cell. This low level of calcium is insufficient to activate the enzymes that facilitate long-term potentiation, but it is thought to activate a cellular cascade that causes the removal of AMPA receptors. This reduces the number of glutamate receptors on the postsynaptic neuron and weakens the synapse.
LTD may also result in other changes that decrease the strength of synapses, like a decrease in the amount of glutamate released from the presynaptic neuron, and it also can involve other receptors like metabotropic glutamate receptors or other neurotransmitter receptors altogether.

There are five cardinal signs of inflammation.
Swelling, Pain, Redness, Heat and loss of function
Now we will see how eicosanoids especially prostaglandins and leukotrienes mediate these inflammatory signs.
Prostaglandins are released from endothelial and inflammatory cells such as macrophages or dendritic cells
They stimulate nerve endings producing a state of hyperalgesia
Which makes nerves more sensitive to painful stimuli.
In the blood vessels prostaglandins induce vasodilation
which is reflected as heat and redness at the site of inflammation
Additionally, prostaglandins increase blood flow and vascular permeability
Which result in increased leakage of fluids and inflammatory cells towards extravascular compartments
leading to edema formation
edema or swelling is the fourth cardinal sign of inflammation
Now we will discuss the fifth cardinal sign of inflammation which is loss of function, and the role of leukotrienes in mediating inflammatory process, in the respiratory pathways
Leukotrienes C4 and D4
Induce bronchoconstriction,
and enhance mucous production and accumulation in the respiratory pathways
Which negatively affect the respiratory functions
Additionally, they induce damage in the respiratory protective cilia

Arachidonic Acid (Ara. A) is one of the major inflammatory mediators in your body...It's liberated from the plasma membrane phospholipid by the phospholipase A2 enzyme. By cyclooxygenase (COX), arachidonic acid can be converted into prostaglandins (e.g. thromboxane A2, prostacyclin "Prostaglandin I2 or PGI2", PGE2, PGF2-alpha, and others.
By 5-lipooxygenase enzyme (LOX), the arachidonic acid can be converted into leukotrienes (e.g. LTB4, LTC4, LTD4, LTE4) which act as chemotactic agent "to recruit neutrophils for inflammation" and bronchoconstrictors "bad for asthma patients.
Hemostasis is defined as “cessation of blood bleeding”.
There are 2 types of hemostasis:
1. Primary hemostasis: formation of weak, temporary platelet plug (by platelets).
2. Secondary hemostasis: formation of stronger fibrin meshwork (by coagulation factors).

Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swells and produce extra mucus. This can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the airways to the lungs. It makes breathing difficult and can make some physical activities difficult or even impossible. Asthma symptoms occur when the lining of your airways swell and the muscles around them tighten. The mucus then fills the airways, further reducing the amount of air that can pass through.
Asthma signs and symptoms include:
1. Shortness of breath
2. Chest tightness or pain
3. Trouble sleeping caused by shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing
4. A whistling or wheezing sound when exhaling (wheezing is a common sign of asthma in children)
5. Coughing or wheezing attacks that are worsened by a respiratory virus, such as a cold or the flu
Asthma triggers
Exposure to various irritants and substances that trigger allergies (allergens) can trigger signs and symptoms of asthma. Asthma triggers are different from person to person and can include:
1. Airborne substances, such as pollen, dust mites, mould spores, pet dander or particles of cockroach waste
2. Respiratory infections, such as the common cold
3. Physical activity (exercise-induced asthma)
4. Cold air
5. Air pollutants and irritants, such as smoke
