Andrew H. Jarvis (1890–1990) was an American politician and restaurateur.
Andrew Harry Jarvis (born Andreas Harry Giavis) was born in Magouliana, Greece, on April 7, 1890 and immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s. He arrived in New York and then went to Lowell, Massachusetts where he stayed with distant family while working in a mill to learn English at the pay of $3.50 a week. It is family lore that every day for lunch he would have apple pie because it was all he could order in English. Over the next ten years, he would become fluent in English and receive a good American education through night school. He then opened his first restaurant, the Jarvis Cafeteria, in 1913 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Over the next few decades, he opened a handful of other restaurants and candy/ice cream stores in Portsmouth, Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Brunswick, Maine.
Chase Jarvis is an American professional photographer, director, artist, and entrepreneur.
Jarvis was born in Seattle, Washington. His father was a Seattle Police Department officer, and his mother was an administrator at a biotech company. He attended San Diego State University on a soccer scholarship, receiving a B.A. in Philosophy.
Initially, Jarvis planned to attend medical school after university. A few weeks before graduating, Jarvis's grandfather died and left all his photography equipment to his grandson. Jarvis subsequently went on a post-college trip through Europe and discovered his passion for photography. He is self-taught and has learned photography through experimenting and independent study.
In 1994, Jarvis moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado with his girlfriend, where he began shooting photos of pro snowboarders and skiers. Jarvis licensed his first image for $500 and a pair of skis. Jarvis continued to pursue photography while studying Philosophy and Art at the University of Washington's MA/PhD program. One year before completing his Master's degree, Jarvis licensed a batch of his photos to REI that allowed him to leave academia and open his own studio, Chase Jarvis Photography.
Jarvis can be a surname or, less frequently, a male given name.

"Can't Hold Us" is a song by American hip hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis from their debut studio album The Heist (2012). Featuring singer Ray Dalton, it was released as the second single from the album on August 16, 2011.
The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it their second number-one hit in the United States. It is also their third consecutive number-one single in Australia. It is considered a sleeper hit.
The radio edit cuts out portions of the introduction, as well as the extended bridge section and an alternate beat during the last chorus, replacing them with an introduction from Dalton and a clapping beat. The beat is similar to their live performances of the song. The song is in the key of E minor with a tempo set at 146 beats per minute.
The music video was nominated for Best Music Video at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014. The song was also listed as "The Most-Streamed Song of 2013" by Spotify.
"Can't Hold Us" was generally well received by music critics. Lewis Corner of Digital Spy gave the song four stars out of five, praising its "infectious, soul-soaked piano line and beats more vibrant than Rio de Janeiro's finest carnival floats". Writing for The Edge, Hannah Mylrea rated the song 9/10 and complemented the duo's dynamism, deeming it "another massive summer hit".AllMusic's David Jeffries also gave it four stars on five and wrote: "Macklemore & Ryan Lewis combine the handclapping, foot-stomping, and propulsive rhythms of old-fashioned gospel music with an infectious, uplifting chorus that could have been ripped straight out of will.i.am's playbook...this motivational, "this is the moment" number is identifiably and lovably Macklemore."
