UNDP Convenes Expert Consultation on Women’s Land Rights in China
On 29 June, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)China convened an expert consultation workshop on women’s land rights in China in support of our landmark study in collaboration with China Law Society. Around thirty leading experts from local judiciaries, land administration bodies, women’s rights organisations, government think tanks and universities gathered to offer insights and comments to the research team on the preliminary results of the project and to discuss strategies for policy recommendations and advocacy.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)build on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), eight anti-poverty targets that the world committed to achieving by 2015. Enormous progress has been made on the MDGs, showing the value of a unifying agenda underpinned by goals and targets. Despite this success, the indignity of poverty has not been ended for all.
The SDGs will now finish the job of the MDGs, and ensure that no one is left behind.
