This week’s 5 best bets for Vegas entertainment

Judy Collins

Last fall, Judy Collins released a duets album, “Strangers Again,” pairing her with everyone from Willie Nelson to Glen Hansard. But the 77-year-old troubadour will have the spotlight all to herself when she and her band play at 7 p.m. Friday in the Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station. Tickets are $29.50 to $51.50; call 800-745-3000.

Boston, Dennis DeYoung

A balanced double bill: a lead singer, Dennis DeYoung, divorced from his band Styx, and a fellow ’70s rock band, Boston, that has carried on since the death of original singer Brad Delp in 2007, currently with Tommy DeCarlo. Together they rock the great outdoors of the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $49.50 to $125; call 800-745-3000.

Loni Love

Tuesday birthdays? Yawn. Comedian and “The Real” co-host Loni Love promises Twitter followers she will delay 45th birthday festivities until her Saturday return to The Venetian, complete with “a new weave.” Tickets are $39.50 to $96.25 for the 9:30 p.m. show. Call 702-414-9000.

Elvis tribute contest finals

Las Vegas is where we had to figure out a plural for Elvis — Elvi is much more fun to say than Elvises. But Sunday it’s time to declare the king of King impersonators with the tribute contest finals of the Las Vegas Elvis Festival. Tickets are $22 to $33 for the 2:30 p.m. showdown. Call 702-284-7777.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Comedy Jam

Some side careers work out better than others. Shaquille O’Neal’s All Star Comedy Jam has become a bigger franchise for the stand-up world than “Kazaam” was for the film industry. This lineup features host Lavell Crawford, Earthquake, Cocoa Brown, Donnell Rawlings and K-Dubb. They visit the Rio’s Penn & Teller Theater at 7:30 p.m. July 21. Tickets are $73.75 to $140.25; call 800-745-3000.
