Bad Company are an English hard rock supergroup formed in Westminster, London, in 1973 by two former Free band members—singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke—as well as Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs and King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell.Peter Grant, who managed the rock band Led Zeppelin, also managed Bad Company until 1982.
Bad Company enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s. Their first three albums, Bad Company (1974), Straight Shooter (1975), and Run With the Pack (1976), reached the top five in the album charts in both the UK and US. Many of their singles, such as "Bad Company", "Can't Get Enough", "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", and "Feel Like Makin' Love", remain staples of classic rock radio.
There was a rumour that singer Paul Rodgers was so enamored with the Jeff Bridges film Bad Company that he chose to name his band after it, but Rodgers, in an interview with Spinner.com, explained that the idea came from a book of Victorian morals that showed a picture of an innocent kid looking up at an unsavory character leaning against a lamppost. The caption read "beware of bad company".

After working as a standup comic and appearing in small film roles, Rock came to wider prominence as a cast member of Saturday Night Live in the early 1990s. He went on to more prominent film appearances, with roles in Down to Earth (2001), Head of State (2003), the Madagascar film series (2005–2012), Grown Ups (2010), its sequel Grown Ups 2 (2013), and Top Five (2014), and a series of acclaimed comedy specials for HBO. He also developed, wrote, narrated, and executive produced the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris (2005–2009). Rock hosted the 77th Academy Awards in 2005 and will return as host for the 88th ceremony.
He was voted the fifth-greatest stand-up comedian in a poll conducted by Comedy Central. He was also voted in the United Kingdom as the ninth greatest stand-up comic on Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups in 2007, and again in the updated 2010 list as the eighth greatest stand-up comic.

What separates a good design from a bad design are the decisions that the designer made. In this hour-long video, recorded live at An Event Apart San Diego 2010, Jared Spool explores the five styles of design decisions, showing you when gut instinct produces the right results, and when designers need to look to more user-focused research. Jared Spool (@jmspool) is the founding principal of User Interface Engineering, a leading research, training, and consulting firm specializing in website and product usability. Jared has been working in the field of usability and design since 1978, before the term “usability” was ever associated with computers. He spends his time working with the research teams at the company, helping clients understand how to solve their design problems, explaining t...
-A Titillating Tragedy- Le Serpent Rouge is a dance/theatre work inspired by the story of Adam, Eve and that damn apple. Company XIV enacts the story of the fall of man in this Baroque Burlesque Extravaganza. Choreographed/Directed/Conceived by Austin McCormick Costumes: Olivera Gajic Set Design: Zane Pihlstrom Lighting Design: Gina Scherr “Although the story of Adam and Eve is as old as mankind, McCormick’s choreography is absolutely not. What it is: imaginative, visually striking, fresh, exciting, erotic, compelling, articulate, and brilliantly theatrical. Tired of superlatives yet? Too bad. Le Serpent Rouge is stunning…” –NY Theatre.com “This theater-dance hybrid, a lush rumination on temptation, infuses its subject with a heady blend of baroque elegance and contemporary snap. Mr. Mc...

Unless you live in LA or one of the other lucky cities that wasn’t plagued by shit weather all winter, this scene may look familiar to you. We at Staple were almost at our wit’s end when the creative guys at Brickhouse Projects reached out to do something beautiful with the snow. We made two videos to showcase the Staple Spring 2014 Collection, and this is the first. Everything about this is symbolic of the Love and Hate we feel for New York right now. It’s both grimy and gorgeous, murky and obscured (in neon) and bright white as our skin gets sunburned by light reflecting off the snow. New York is that bad bitch who doesn’t give you the time of day…but you love her for it. the1st go-'round of trying out/finding my way around the recently released iPad app VJay, which is damned f---ing well built … really the only thing that's kind of a bummer about it is that it was only built for the iOS, w/o a desktop version (the company's DJay app being my most preferred to use on both platforms for any sort of DJ work). So it's really cooll for improvising on the fly, and probably for integrating free-wheel into a larger rig, but i'd be hard pressed to have to run a show off it if it was center-focus … not impossible, but it'd be a biatch and a half to be sure. So, yeah, the audio tracks are experimenting with recombining Tom Waits' BAD AS ME with Lady GaGa's Bad Romance [i just figured i'd wing it and see if anything could be made of them togenther) and a bunch of p...

Mary: I gotta change shoes. Mary: Okay, there we go. Now, that’s so much better. Stuart: Ladies and gentlemen, obviously, let’s begin at the beginning. Normally, the protocol is that we give people a round of applause at the end of the event. In this particular case, we’re going to break with all the protocols, because I know a lot of people that are in the audience, I’ve seen faces, I’ve seen people with reputations in the audience, and I think that all of us can say, unanimously that, Mary probably doesn’t really deeply understand how much impact her singing and her reputation has had in our lives, the way it’s shaped the love that we’ve got for the music. So, ladies and gentlemen, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, come on. [applause] Stuart: So, where to start? Let’s start with a quick q...

Well, well, well, oh yeah, mmm.
I'm sitting here in Memphis,
Whiskey bottle in my hand, oh. I got to find a woman,
I'm only on a one-night stand,
I've got to kick away these blues,
Got to get on my rock and roll shoes,
I'm leaving in the morning,
I'm heading for the promised land.
Got to call a number,
A certain woman in town, yeah,
But when I got connected she told me
She was going to settle down, Oh baby, yeah.
I've got to kick away these blues,
Got to get on my rock and roll shoes,
I'm leaving in the morning,
I'm heading for the promised land,
Oh baby; look out over there.
Ever since I've been playing guitar in a band,
Ever since I been to St. Davida's school,
Every time I tried to play my winning hand,
I get a little closer but it's still the same old game.
Ma ma mama, I get a little closer to you baby, Seem like
you're all the same, I get a little closer to you,
still the same old game, Come on baby, I want to take you with me.
I've got to leave the city, I'm headed for the California sun,
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, They say the girls are pretty
And pretty soon I'm going to get me one, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I've got to kick away these blues, Got to get on my
rock and roll shoes, I'm leaving in the morning,
I'm heading for the promised land, Lord knows I am.
Ever since I been playing guitar in a band, Ever since I've been
St. Davida's place, Every time I tried to play my winning hand,
I get a little closer but it's still the same old game
