With 1.5 million lucky people calling Auckland home, this North Island gem is the most populous city in New Zealand. Auckland tourism is quite diverse, giving visitors a bounty of choices for how to spend their time. Auckland is called the City of Sails, boasting more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world. Nestled between two natural harbors, it’s no wonder residents and visitors alike enjoy spending time on the water. After a breakfast in Elliott Stables, take off on a boat cruise from downtown to explore the sights of Hauraki Gulf.
With your feet back on solid ground, enjoy Auckland sightseeing and shopping along Queen Street. Jet over to Ponsonby, which is considered one of the more hip neighborhoods in Auckland. When lunchtime rolls around, find your way to Devonport, a lovely harborside suburb where you can enjoy a seafood lunch.
With a contented stomach, spend some time at Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park. Watch a game of cricket, walk through the Formal Gardens, or take a leisurely stroll through the mature trees. If you’re interested in even more of New Zealand’s natural landscape, head just outside the city for rolling hills, jagged cliffs, and forests with towering treetops. Walk through the Hauna Ranges and you’ll be rewarded with the Hunua Falls, an impressive waterfall rushing over a volcanic edge.
Visitors interested in adventurous Auckland tours must head to the downtown Sky Tower before leaving New Zealand. This is the tallest man-made building in the entire country – and it offers a breathtaking base jump from the top. If you’re not in the mood for that much adrenaline, head to the observation platform to take in sweeping views of the city and harbor.

Auckland
Auckland (/ˈɔːklənd/ AWK-lənd), in the North Island of New Zealand, is the largest and most populous urban area in the country. Auckland has a population of 1,454,300, 32 percent of New Zealand's population. It is part of the wider Auckland Region, which includes the rural areas and towns north and south of the urban area, plus the islands of the Hauraki Gulf, resulting in a total population of 1,570,500 that is governed by the Auckland Council. Auckland also has the largest Polynesian population of any city in the world. In Māori, Auckland's name is Tāmaki Makaurau and the transliterated version of Auckland is Ākarana.
The Auckland urban area (as defined by Statistics New Zealand) ranges to Waiwera in the north, Kumeu in the northwest, and Runciman in the south. It is not contiguous; the section from Waiwera to Whangaparaoa Peninsula is separate from its nearest neighbouring suburb of Long Bay. Auckland lies between the Hauraki Gulf of the Pacific Ocean to the east, the low Hunua Ranges to the south-east, the Manukau Harbour to the south-west, and the Waitakere Ranges and smaller ranges to the west and north-west. The central part of the urban area occupies a narrow isthmus between the Manukau Harbour on the Tasman Sea and the Waitemata Harbour on the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the few cities in the world to have two harbours on two separate major bodies of water.

Here's two days of travel in Auckland, New Zealand combined into one! In the first part, I finally made my way to the Auckland Memorial Museum, by bus. Some people told me that it was gonna be complicated to take the bus but I managed to do so with Google. I think it's timely but the transport network is not as established as Singapore's. After the museum, I went to the Westfield near Parnell area. It was nothing much, the shops were pretty boring.
The next day was the Bay of Islands full day tour with Grayline & GreatSights. We were going to Paihia, Bay of Islands to see the Hole in the Rock and dolphins. It was so much fun to see dolphins so close to me, but the water was quite choppy. The cruise is nothing like the speed boat I took in Phuket but it was rocky enough for it to be memorable lol. This sums up all the tours I paid for on my first day in Auckland. These are the things I never get to experience in Singapore. There'll definitely be more to come;)

I will try my best to answer any questions.
This video includes all regulars from their respective airlines I caught in one day (with the exception of the Singapore Cargo 747-400F as it wasn't in this day) as of 20 March 2016. Although for some it doesn't show both take off and landing, all of Auckland's heavies are represented here (including 4 different Emirates registrations) with the Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight 787 making a special appearance.
I spent a day from 9:30am until 6:40pm on March 20th 2016 at Auckland International Airport (NZAA/AKL) along with a fellow spotter from Napier, NZ, also named Matt.

5-9 - Double seven moves Wade a leg away from victory with his third in a row.
6-9 - van Gerwen lands double 16 to keep his hopes alive.
6-10 - Five missed doubles from the Dutchman are punished as Wade seals victory with a third-dart double ten, with both players averaging over 107 and van Gerwen hitting ten 180s in defeat, seeing the victor land six maximums and 63 percent of his darts at a double.

0-1 - The pair trade 180s before van Gerwen misses double 18 for a 116 finish, allowing Wade in on double ten to break throw immediately.
0-2 - van Gerwen opens with another 180, but Wade takes out 130 on the bull to move two legs up.
1-2 - van Gerwen finishes 110 on double 16 to get off the mark.
1-3 - van Gerwen lands his third 180, but Wade finishes 84 to regain his cushion.
1-4 - Wade breaks throw for a second time by finishing 78 on tops to move three legs clear.
2-4 - van Gerwen produces a stunning ten-dart leg which included one bounce-out, scoring 180, 120 and 177 before landing double 12.
2-5 - Wade hits a superb 168 score to leave tops as he restores his cushion.

5-6 - van Gerwen lands two 180s in the leg as double 18 again sees the gap cut to one.
5-7 - Both players hit maximums once again, as Wade fires in another 11-darter to edge away from his rival.
5-8 - Wade defies an opening 180 from van Gerwen with a maximum of his own before taking out 81 to move three legs clear.
5-9 - Double seven moves Wade a leg away from victory with his third in a row.
6-9 - van Gerwen lands double 16 to keep his hopes alive.
6-10 - Five missed doubles from the Dutchman are punished as Wade seals victory with a third-dart double ten, with both players averaging over 107 and van Gerwen hitting ten 180s in defeat, seeing the victor land six maximums and 63 percent of his darts at a double.
