John Carter of Mars Animation (Rare) Bob Clampett
Back in the 1940's, animation director Bob Clampett (director of Bugs Bunny and creator of Beany and Cecil) proposed a series of animated theatrical shorts adapting the John Carter of Mars books by Edgar Rice Burroughs (creator of Tarzan). This footage was the test reel for the studios. Apparently one major hollywood studio was interested in producing these shorts, but changed their mind when they thought the concept might be to weird for some people. It's to bad they never got made. Who knows what direction animation might have taken if they had.

A Tale of Two Kitties
Babbit and Catstello try to catch little Tweety Bird. Tale of Two Kitties is an American cartoon, released in 1942, notable for introducing the character Tweety Bird. It was directed by Bob Clampett, written by Warren Foster, and features music by Carl W. Stalling. It was also the first appearance of Babbit and Catstello, based on the popular comedy duo Abbott and Costello. The title is an obvious pun on the Charles Dickens classic, A Tale of Two Cities, but there is no other connection between the two "Tales". Directed by Bob Clampett Story by Warren Foster Voices: Mel Blanc (Catstello / Tweety) Tedd Pierce (Babbit) Music by Carl W. Cartoon Network's The Bob Clampett Show Opening (2000-2001)
Credit: beepbeepgac The Bob Clampett Show was an animation anthology television program which ran from 2000 to 2001. Produced by the Cartoon Network, it featured animated theatrical shorts from the Warner Bros. library that were animated or directed by Bob Clampett, as well as a selection of shorts from the Beany and Cecil animated television series. It originally aired on Cartoon Network and was later added to Adult Swim programming block due to the films being shown uncut, but only aired for a short time. Twenty-six episodes were made in all. This intro began in Bob Clampett's Office in the 1940's. Bob was drawing Bugs Bunny chewing his carrot, and the moving picture of Bugs is charge to a Time for Beany opening-type world with Buzzy, Tweety, Daffy, and Porky.

Get Rich Quick Porky Release Date: August 28, 1937 Supervision: Robert Clampett Animation: Charles Jones Musical Direction: Carl Stalling Animation (uncredited): Jerry Hathcock, John Carey, Lu Guarnier, Bill Hammer Source: Return of the 30's Characters (Thunderbean Animation) www.thunderbeananimation.com --------------------------------------- THIS CARTOON IS IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN I know this cartoon exists all over the place on budget VHS tapes. However, all I've ever seemed to be able to find is the hand-retraced/colorized version. It WAS shown on the Bob Clampett Show, but it was the computer colorized version from 1992. I've never seen the original, untouched black & white version of this cartoon anywhere else. I decided to upload it here because it is definitely worth seeing in its original b&w; form. It doesn't seem to be cleaned up or restored in any way. There are at least one or two drop outs, most noticeably at the title card fade-in. The zooming WB shield and ending sequence seem to be from a different source. Other than those things, the quality of the transfer is great. Until WB releases this short restored on a future DVD set, I highly recommend getting the Thunderbean DVD if you want a DVD quality version of this. --------------------------------------- Uncredited animators provided by Dave Mackey's Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies : Falling Hare (1943) - SkreenPlay.tv
Falling Hare is a 1943 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Robert Clampett, starring Bugs Bunny. The title is another play on words. The word "hair" and "hare". As "falling hair" refers to impending baldness, while in this cartoon's climax, the title turns out to be descriptive of Bugs' situation(a hare falling/crashing to earth).

Merrie Melodies - Falling Hare 1943 (Public Domain)
Falling Hare is a 1943 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Robert Clampett, starring Bugs Bunny. The title is another play on words. The word "hair" and "hare". As "falling hair" refers to impending baldness, while in this cartoon's climax, the title turns out to be descriptive of Bugs' situation(a hare falling/crashing to earth). The film is in the public domain and is available on several low-budget home video releases in an unrestored form (Associated Artists Productions and later United Artists acquired the rights to many of the pre-August 1948[1] WB cartoons, the prints faded with age because that is generally what happens to 16 mm "dupes" of films and television series). A restored and remastered version is available on DVD as part of disc 4 of Volume 3 of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection.
