Meet John Breseke, Director of Manufacturing IT at Intel whose job it is to manage the IT and automation of arguably the most automated and sophisticated manufacturing process in the world.
Boxes of twenty-five total, 12 inch in diameter silicon wafers have to be transported within Intel manufacturing facilities around the world using the AMHS (automated material handling system). John and his team have to track and manage the workflow of products throughout the AMHS at any given point in order to enable manufacturing within fabrication facilities, keeping projects on time and on budget.

Funding accelerates development of new braille printer/embosser technology “Braigo” to help the 50 million legally blind individuals worldwide with low cost, silent, portable and IOT-enabled products.
Palo Alto, California, USA – Nov 4, 2014 – Braigo Labs Inc. announced that it has received a seed round investment from Intel Capital, Intel's global investment organization. The funds will be used to further expand the company’s R&D; capabilities around the Braigo line of low-cost, portable Braille printer/embosser devices and other products catering to the accessibility markets.
Braigo Labs Inc. was founded by Shubham Banerjee, a middle school student from Santa Clara, California, who invented the open source DIY Braille printer Braigo v1.0 in February 2014 using Lego Mindstorms. He subsequently released a new prototype, BraigoTM v2.0, at Intel Developer Forum (IDF 2014). This consumer-focused braille printer, which uses new technology and an Intel Edison chip, is portable, silent, IOT-enabled and will be offered at a price point well below currently available products for the visually impaired.
Banerjee said: “I have been working with bootstrapped funds from my parents since February 2014. I am ecstatic that Intel Capital is investing early in our effort to disrupt the braille printer/embosser industry."
“It all started with a science fair project idea, but the shocking price of braille printers -- at $2,000 or more – motivated me to start a journey to help the visually impaired,” he added. “Intel Capital’s investment will help open up opportunities for me to work with professionals and eventually bring the product to more than 50 million blind people worldwide.”
The investment was announced at the Intel Capital Global Summit, where investments across a wide range of technology sectors were disclosed – from wearables and the Internet of Things to cloud infrastructure and big data analytics.
“With Intel Capital’s stewardship, Intel continues to invest in pioneering companies that are developing the latest innovations,” said Mike Bell, corporate vice president and general manager of the New Devices Group at Intel.
Terms of the investment, which was led by Intel Capital Managing Director Rob Rueckert, were not disclosed.

6:23 AM, Jul 13, 2010 -- Intel (INTC) is due with its Q2 results after the bell tonight, and analysts polled by Thomson Reuters are forecasting the chip-maker to come in with a profit of $0.43 per share on revenue of $10.25 billion.
INTC favors a reversal pattern following after-hours earnings events, cutting back its evening trade in next-day action in 18 of its last 25 earnings events, or about 72% of the time. In the near-term, the stock has narrowed its move in the last seven consecutive quarters.
Looking deeper into the performance data, INTC is a stock for longs to be wary of in the off-hours, and perhaps an issue for shorts to line up if it should post an earnings-driven after-hours upside or downside move. INTC has advanced in the after-hours in 15 of the last 25 quarters we've tracked. However, it saw that advance reverse or narrow in next day trade in 13 of those quarters, or 87% of the time.
The stock has recorded 10 quarters in which it posted an earnings-driven after-hours decline. In five of those events it recorded a more aggressive downside move the following regular session - more ammunition for shorts to linger near the stock on a negative evening move.
On April 13, 2010, INTC advanced 3.7% in after-hours trade after beating Q1 expectations and setting its Q2 revenue view above Street estimates. The stock cut its upside slightly the next day, closing the April 14 regular session up 3.3%.
On Jan. 14, 2010, INTC edged up 0.8% in after-hours action following better-than-expected Q4 results and in-line revenue guidance. The stock lost its gain the following day, closing the Jan. 15 regular session down 3.1%.
On Oct. 13, 2009, INTC jumped 4.5% in after-hours trade after blowing past Q3 expectations. The stock lost a good chunk of its gains the following day, ending the Oct. 14 regular session up 1.6%.

The diversity program by Intel Corp looks to have failed as threats from INTC employees have poured in -- presumably in response to reverse racism or reverse discrimination. INTC has made diversity a priority, aggressively pushing for women, African Americans, and Hispanics to join the Intel workforce. Intel Corp claims this is about inclusiveness and not about excluding non-diversity people (ie. whites). However, INTC is engaging in affirmative action by a different name. Affirmative action and race-based programs is plain and simple discrimination -- and it's wrong!
Intel Corp can choose to implement diversity programs. However, let's call a spade a spade. In order to include minorities and women, one must exclude other people to make room at INTC. After all, Intel Corp jobs are not an infinite resource. However, INTC does not have the balls to admit this, and therefore, the threats, discontent, and racial tension are wholly the fault of Intel Corp.

The diversity program by Intel Corp looks to have failed as threats from INTC employees have poured in -- presumably in response to reverse racism or reverse discrimination. Palo Alto, California, USA – Nov 4, 2014 – Braigo Labs Inc. announced that it has received a seed round investment from Intel Capital, Intel's global investment organization. The funds will be used to further expand the company’s R&D; capabilities around the Braigo line of low-cost, portable Braille printer/embosser devices and other products catering to the accessibility markets.
Braigo Labs Inc. was founded by Shubham Banerjee, a middle school student from Santa Clara, California, who invented the open source DIY Braille printer Braigo v1.0 in February 2014 using Lego Mindstorms. He subsequently released a new prototype, BraigoTM v2.0, at Intel Developer Forum (IDF 2014). This consumer-focused braille printer, which uses new technology and an Intel Edison chip, is portable, silent, IOT-enabled and will be offered at a price point well below currently available products for the visually impaired.
Banerjee said: “I have been working with bootstrapped funds from my parents since February 2014. I am ecstatic that Intel Capital is investing early in our effort to disrupt the braille printer/embosser industry."
“It all started with a science fair project idea, but the shocking price of braille printers -- at $2,000 or more – motivated me to start a journey to help the visually impaired,” he added. “Intel Capital’s investment will help open up opportunities for me to work with professionals and eventually bring the product to more than 50 million blind people worldwide.”
The investment was announced at the Intel Capital Global Summit, where investments across a wide range of technology sectors were disclosed – from wearables and the Internet of Things to cloud infrastructure and big data analytics.
“With Intel Capital’s stewardship, Intel continues to invest in pioneering companies that are developing the latest innovations,” said Mike Bell, corporate vice president and general manager of the New Devices Group at Intel.
Terms of the investment, which was led by Intel Capital Managing Director Rob Rueckert, were not disclosed.

6:23 AM, Jul 13, 2010 -- Intel (INTC) is due with its Q2 results after the bell tonight, and analysts polled by Thomson Reuters are forecasting the chip-maker to come in with a profit of $0.43 per share on revenue of $10.25 billion.
INTC favors a reversal pattern following after-hours earnings events, cutting back its evening trade in next-day action in 18 of its last 25 earnings events, or about 72% of the time. In the near-term, the stock has narrowed its move in the last seven consecutive quarters.
Looking deeper into the performance data, INTC is a stock for longs to be wary of in the off-hours, and perhaps an issue for shorts to line up if it should post an earnings-driven after-hours upside or downside move. INTC has advanced in the after-hours in 15 of the last 25 quarters we've tracked. However, it saw that advance reverse or narrow in next day trade in 13 of those quarters, or 87% of the time.
The stock has recorded 10 quarters in which it posted an earnings-driven after-hours decline. In five of those events it recorded a more aggressive downside move the following regular session - more ammunition for shorts to linger near the stock on a negative evening move.
On April 13, 2010, INTC advanced 3.7% in after-hours trade after beating Q1 expectations and setting its Q2 revenue view above Street estimates. The stock cut its upside slightly the next day, closing the April 14 regular session up 3.3%.
On Jan. 14, 2010, INTC edged up 0.8% in after-hours action following better-than-expected Q4 results and in-line revenue guidance. The stock lost its gain the following day, closing the Jan. 15 regular session down 3.1%.
On Oct. 13, 2009, INTC jumped 4.5% in after-hours trade after blowing past Q3 expectations. The stock lost a good chunk of its gains the following day, ending the Oct. 14 regular session up 1.6%.

INTC has made diversity a priority, aggressively pushing for women, African Americans, and Hispanics to join the Intel workforce. Intel Corp claims this is about inclusiveness and not about excluding non-diversity people (ie. whites). However, INTC is engaging in affirmative action by a different name. Affirmative action and race-based programs is plain and simple discrimination -- and it's wrong!

High-Performance Virtualization for HPC Cloud on Xen - Jun Nakajima & Tianyu Lan, Intel Corp.
We have been working to get Xen up and running on self-boot Intel® Xeon Phi processors to build HPC clouds. We see several challenges because of the unique (but not unusual for HPC) hardware technologies and performance requirements. For example, such hardware technologies include 1) 256+ CPUs, 2) MCDRAM (high-bandwidth memory), 3) integrated fabric (i.e. Intel® Omni-Path). Unlike the “coprocessor“ model, supporting self-boot with 256+ CPUs has various implications to Xen, including scheduling and scalability. We need to allow user applications to use MCDRAM directly to perform optimally. Also, we need to enable the integrated HPC fabric for the VM to use by direct I/O assignment.
In addition, we have only a single VM on each node to meet the high-performance requirements of HPC clouds. This (i.e. non-shared) model allowed us to optimize Xen more. In this talk, we share our design and lessons, and discuss the options we considered to achieve high-performance virtualization for HPC.
