Electrician Scott Caron shows new technologies and applications for LED lighting. (See below for steps.)
Steps for How to Use LED Lighting:
1. Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are commonly used in flashlights and Christmas-tree lights.
2. LEDs are long lasting, super-bright, and energy efficient.
3. A standard Christmas tree light consumes seven watts of electricity per bulb. An entire string of LED lights uses just three watts.
4. Replace old incandescent bulbs with retrofit LEDs, which screw into standard lamp sockets.
5. Reflective-style LEDs come with various bases and often simply plug into the socket.
6. Recessed LEDs combine the light bulb and trim kit into one compact unit.
7. Flush mount LEDs can be connected to an existing recessed fixture, or hard-wired to a ceiling-mounted electrical box.
8. Color-changing LED rope lighting can be installed inside or along the tops of cabinets and wall units.
9. New LEDs can be controlled wirelessly through a smart phone or tablet, allowing you to adjust the intensity (brightness) or color of the light.
10. Illuminate kitchen counters with slim LED fixtures that are designed for under-cabinet installation.
11. Exterior-rated LED lights are available for installation outdoors over a patio, driveway or deck.

Testing out the new LED lights. Wiring up my solar panels and charge controller. Wiring up LED strip lights for indirect lighting and more. When I went inside my tiny house to see if the lights work or not, they were already on. The switch was in the on position. The lights work! This was an exciting moment for the tiny house on wheels. I ran the wires for the solar charge controller through the wall and connected it to the harbor freight charge controller. Then I went outside and connected the clamps to the batteries. I know you don't speak a lot about cfl bulbs, but I was just wondering, is it true that cfls give off high levels of ultraviolet light? I read somewhere on the web that cfls can be dangerous because of uv light and also can be dangerous if you break a cfl due to mercury content. I have been converting some of the lights in our house to led bulbs but I still have a lot of working cfls that I might keep as backups. Do led bulbs give off any uv light? Just curious. Thank you for your time.

In short, CFL bulbs do give off a bit of UV, and their mercury is harmful, but generally only in large amounts. LEDs, in general, give off very little UV light, and their visible light is usually "invisible" to bugs, attracting fewer of them.

Yes, but you’ll need phone and app to set them up. Wireless dimmer switch will work without app for up to 10 Philips Hue bulbs, and do more if you get the bridge.

Looking for a good quality outside led flood light. they don't need to be motion or daylight savings as they will be controlled by insteon dimmer wall switches. they do however need operate in cold weather. do not care if its just a bulb or complete replacement of outside fixture. I want tons of light any ideas?

Testing out the new LED lights. Wiring up my solar panels and charge controller. Wiring up LED strip lights for indirect lighting and more.
When I went inside my tiny house to see if the lights work or not, they were already on. The switch was in the on position. The lights work!
This was an exciting moment for the tiny house on wheels.
I ran the wires for the solar charge controller through the wall and connected it to the harbor freight charge controller. Then I went outside and connected the clamps to the batteries.
Next I ran the wires for the solar panels into the tiny cottage and then connected them to the solar panel connections on the charge controller. Then I went outside and connected the solar panels to the wire and I had a charging set of batteries. My tiny house was running on solar.
This is a temporary setup though. I want to build a insulated battery box on the back of the tiny house and put my golf cart batteries back there.
The batteries I am now using for my tiny home will be put in the RV so I have power out there when I need it.
I cleaned out the entire living room of my tiny home. I moved out all of the furniture. Then I disassembled the temporary solar power setup that was on the floor of my tiny house living room. This was the portable solar power system from my bugout survival truck. It was very much in the way all this time but it did provide me with lights and some power while I worked in the tiny house on wheels.
I started putting in indirect lighting in the tiny house living room. I ran some of my homemade paneling up near the ceiling of the living room and then measured and cut some of my LED strip lights to size.
The solar battery bank was low when I tried to solder so I unplugged the soldering iron and left it for the next day.
I have been getting eggs for about three days now. I have not been looking every day but I just found three eggs in the chicken tractor. I dont know which hen is laying but it sure is a good thing finally.
