Montreal (i/ˌmʌntriːˈɒl/;French: Montréal,pronounced: [mɔ̃ʁeal]) is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is the second largest city in Canada and the 26th largest in the Americas. Originally called Ville-Marie, or "City of Mary," it is named after Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill in the heart of the city. The city is on the Island of Montreal, which took its name from the same source as the city, and a few much smaller peripheral islands, the largest of which is Île Bizard. It has a distinct four-season continental climate with warm to hot summers and cold snowy winters.
In 2011 the city had a population of 1,649,519. Montreal's metropolitan area had a population of 3,824,221 and a population of 1,886,481 in the urban agglomeration, with all of the municipalities on the Island of Montreal included. The 2014 estimate of the population of the metropolitan area of Montreal is 4.1 million.
French is the city's official language and is the language spoken at home by 56.9% of the population of the city, followed by English at 18.6% and 19.8% other languages (in the 2006 census). In the larger Montreal Census Metropolitan Area, 67.9% of the population speaks French at home, compared to 16.5% who speak English. Montreal is one of the most bilingual cities in Quebec and Canada with 56% of the population able to speak both English and French. Montreal is the second largest primarily French-speaking city in the world, after Paris.

David John "Dave" Matthews (born January 9, 1967) is a South African-born American singer-songwriter, musician and actor, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. Matthews was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and moved to Westchester County, New York at the age of 2. Matthews mainly plays acoustic guitar, which he started playing at age 9.
From 1991 to 2003, Matthews predominantly focused on songwriting and performing with the Dave Matthews Band, which he started in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991. Since then, he has also done various solo performances and produced other records. During the period from 2000 to 2010, his band sold more tickets and earned more money than any other act in North America. The band's most recent album, Away from the World, released in 2012, made them the only group to have six consecutive studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard charts.
The contrast between summer and winter is highlighted in these photos.

A special video from a place unconventional to me, this route follows the northern section of Autoroute 15 in the Montreal metropolitan area. Many thanks to fellow producer Freeway Franks, who provided the signs, footage, some of the inset pictures and immense amounts of information about the route. Also in the credits I dun messed up. The vehicle used in this video was a HYUNDAI Elantra, not a HONAD "Elantra". Shows how much I know :P

The "soundboard quality" advertised on the cover is a definite pipe dream. Don't get me wrong, for an audience recording this isn't too bad, but it's definitely NOT a soundboard. Some parts are overdriven or "static-y" because of the recording. If it wasn't for the dialogue I wouldn't...

As we went down to check out the European car scene in Montreal, Canada, we were greeted by many friendly French-Canadians. We were also surprised by the amount of American car enthusiasts who drove up for this show, but pleased to see how much this show has grown over the years. Eurokracy is a 2 day show that offers a high quality european show cars, a drag race event, a lapping event, neck breaker challenge and burnout contest. This show is definitely very entertaining and comes with it's own nightlife scene at the hotel that the show organizers had recommended. We were pleased to see the vast amount of local Quebec shops using Vibrant Performance products, and transforming fabrication components into chrome-dipped engine bay art. Welcome to Montreal, Canada. This extraordinary city, which began life as a French colony in the 1600s, is now a stunning metropolis combining old-world architecture with modern dashes. When Mark Twain visited Montreal in the 19th century, he was so taken by its many churches that he nicknamed it “The City of 100 Bell Towers.” These numerous buildings are often part of Montreal sightseeing; marvel at the imposing stone façade of Christ Church Cathedral, or stand beneath the great arched ceiling of the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica. You can spend days exploring the city’s many sacred spaces, but Montreal tourism is so much more than that; if you’re a foodie, you’re in luck, because the residents of Montreal adore a good meal, whether it’s poutine from a streetside bistro or fresh produce f...

Travel video about destination Montréal in Canada. Canada's second largest city, Montreal is a fascinating blend of European charm and the American way of life. In Vieux-Montreal, narrow lanes and small houses recall the past and also the lifestyle of the original settlers. In the old fire station at Place d'Youville - one of the oldest markets in Montreal -- is the Centre d'Histoire in which the 350 year cultural history of the city is on display, from the development of the Irokese Settlement, its prolific fur trade, and right up to today's shining, energetic Metropolis. Although Montreal is located 1,600 kilometres from the open sea, it owes its wealth to its waterways which stretch from the country's interior, to the ocean. A trip on the Saint Lawrence River with the pleasure boat, B...

Montreal - Quebec - Canada Travel Guide, Vacation World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Montreal - Quebec - Canada http://goo.gl/LHslES First-time visitors never fail to be surprised by Montreal; French-speaking with grand old buildings and a European vibe, it sits apart from other North American cities. In fact, it really is like no other. Montreal combines old-warm charm and metropolitan energy, small-town warmth and friendliness with vibrant, cosmopolitan cool and bohemian vibes with lively, upbeat sparks. Unlike the modern sprawls sometimes associated with other Canadian urban centres, Montreal is anything but samey. In fact, its intoxicating diversity -- when it comes to ethnicity, culture, language and cuisine -- is what makes this city tick. For gourmands, the city ...
