Jagged Little Tapestry

"Jagged Little Tapestry" is the third episode of the sixth season of the American musical television series Glee, and the 111th overall. The episode was written by series co-creator Brad Falchuk, directed by Paul McCrane, and first aired on January 16, 2015 on Fox in the United States.

The episode takes place as Rachel Berry and Kurt Hummel prepare an assignment for New Directions but have conflicts in their teaching styles. Kurt's breakup with Blaine Anderson brings angst to the group. Becky Jackson has a new boyfriend but has lied to him about her life, and Coach Beiste must make a difficult decision.

Plot

3.0 (professional wrestling)

3.0 is a Canadian professional wrestling tag team, consisting of Scott "Jagged" Parker (born Jeff Parker on March 20, 1983 in Niagara Falls, Ontario) and Shane Matthews (born Matthew Lee in 1983 in Niagara Falls, Ontario). The team, originally billed as 2.0, is best known for working for Chikara and International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS), but have also made appearances for several other independent promotions, including Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South (IWA-MS), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and Ring of Honor (ROH). Parker and Matthews are former two-time holders of both the Chikara Campeonatos de Parejas and the IWS Tag Team Championship.

Professional wrestling career

International Wrestling Syndicate (2004–2010, 2014–present)

2.0 began working for Montreal, Quebec-based International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS) in June 2004. For the first six months in the promotion, Jagged and Shane Matthews worked as faces, but on January 2005 2.0 turned heel at a Northern Championship Wrestling (NCW) co-promoted event with IWS. On March 26, 2005, 2.0 received their first shot at the IWS Tag Team Championship, but were unable to dethrone the defending champions the Flying Hurricanes (Kenny the Bastard and Takao) in a four-way match, which also included SLI (Marc Le Grizzly and Viking) and the Wrecking Crew (Chris Wells and Tomassino). 2.0 received a rematch for the titles on July 9, 2005, during IWS' first, and only, show at The Arena in Philadelphia, but managed to defeat the Flying Hurricanes only via countout, which meant that they didn't win the championship. This set up a rubber match for August 20, when 2.0 finally defeated the Flying Hurricanes to win the IWS Tag Team Championship.

JAG1

Jagged1 (JAG1) is one of five cell surface proteins (ligands) that interact with 4 receptors in the mammalian Notch signaling pathway. The Notch Signaling Pathway is a highly conserved pathway that functions to establish and regulate cell fate decisions in many organ systems. Once the JAG1-NOTCH (receptor-ligand) interactions take place, a cascade of proteolytic cleavages is triggered resulting in activation of the transcription for downstream target genes. Located on human chromosome 20, the JAG1 gene is expressed in multiple organ systems in the body and causes the autosomal dominant disorder Alagille syndrome (ALGS) resulting from loss of function mutations within the gene. JAG1 has also been designated as CD339 (cluster of differentiation 339).

Structure and function

JAG1 was first identified as a ligand that was able to activate notch receptors when it was cloned in the mammalian rat in 1995. It is located at cytogenetic location 20p12.2 and genomic location (GRCh37) chr20:10,618,331-10,654,693 on the human chromosome 20. The structure of the JAG1 protein includes a small intracellular component, a transmembrane motif, proceeded by an extracellular region containing a cystine-rich region, 16 EGF-like repeats, a DSL domain, and finally a signal peptide totaling 1218 amino acids in length over 26 coding exons.

Little

Little is a surname in the English language. The name is ultimately derived from the Middle English littel, and the Old English lȳtel, which mean "little". In some cases the name was originally a nickname for a little man. In other cases, the name was used to distinguish the younger of two bearers of the same personal name. The Little was two automobiles built in Flint, Michigan, from 1912 – 15 and the company, Little Motor Car Company, founded by William H. Little and William C. Durant that built them.

Company

Little Motor Car Company was an automobile manufactured founded primarily by William H. Little and William C. Durant that operated from 1911 to 1913.

After the Panic of 1910–11 and lack of cash from overexpansion that led to General Motors's Board to oust Durant, Durant began forming other car companies including Chevrolet and Mason Motors. Durant purchased the failing Flint Wagon Works and used the assets to set up the Little Motor Car Company and Mason. The Little Motor Car Company was incorporated on October 19, 1911, by Charles Begole, William Ballenger, William H. Little, and Durant. A.B.C. Hardy was appointed to manage the Little plant. The Little company was charged with building a small car to fill the void left by Buick Motor's discontinuing the Model 10 and compete with the Ford.

Little (album)

Little is the debut album by Vic Chesnutt, released in 1990. Produced by R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stipe, it was Chesnutt's first solo release. The album was re-released on July 5, 2004.

Overview

Deciding to pursue a solo career after the band, La-Di-Das, broke up, Chesnutt would play solo at the 40 Watt Club. It was there that R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stipe, first spotted Chesnutt and helped him to produce his first album. It was released on Texas Hotel Records in 1990.

Apache Tapestry

Apache Tapestry is an open-source component-oriented Java web application framework conceptually similar to JavaServer Faces and Apache Wicket. Tapestry was created by Howard Lewis Ship, and was adopted by the Apache Software Foundation as a top-level project in 2006.

Tapestry emphasizes simplicity, ease of use, and developer productivity. It adheres to the Convention over Configuration paradigm, eliminating almost all XML configuration. Tapestry uses a modular approach to web development, by having a strong binding between each user interface component (object) on the web page and its corresponding Java class. This component-based architecture borrows many ideas from WebObjects.

Class Transformation

Tapestry uses bytecode manipulation to transform page and component classes at runtime. This approach allows the page and component classes to be written as simple POJOs, with a few naming conventions and annotations potentially triggering substantial additional behavior at class load time. Tapestry versions 5.0, 5.1 and 5.2 used the Javassist bytecode manipulation library. Subsequent versions replaced Javassist with a new bytecode manipulation layer called Plastic which is based on ObjectWeb ASM.
