Kettlebells are cannonball-like weights with thick handles. They were the weapon of choice for Russian lifters more than a century ago. They're just now getting their due in America. The weights offer all the benefits of dumbbell training, plus a few more. The super-thick handles challenge your grip, and the position of the weight in relation to the handle works your core extra hard. Best of all, kettlebells are versatile. They're ideal for explosive exercises that work major muscles, burn body fat, and build power, but they also add a new dimension to classic moves like chest presses and flys. Kettlebells make traditional dumbbell moves more challenging. Their weight isn't evenly distributed, so your stabilizer muscles have to work harder. Workout Wednesdays with Bodies By Cindy- The Pull Up
In this week's Workout Wednesday, Cindy Ross of Bodies by Cindy takes us through one exercise most of us hate--pullups. The Pull Up is an awesome exercise- You can feel it engaging every muscle in your body! As women our upper body strength isn't as strong as men, which leaves most of us to do an assisted pull up. You still receive the benefits and you as you get stronger you will be able to eliminate the band. Pullups are one of the most convenient exercises around. You can do this exercise pretty much anywhere. All you need is a bar and your body. You can buy inexpensive home pull up bars for your door frames; you can go to the playground at the park, use the parallel bars or monkey bars. Some gyms even have a weight assisted pull up machine. One of the best benefits of pullups is that there are many different variations of the pullup. The best thing is that one version doesn't require any additional equipment than another variation. All you have to do is switch your hand placement around. My favorite variation is the regular old wide, overhand pullup. This is the best variation for getting your lats to grow. Some other good variations are close grip pullups , and reverse grip pullups (also known as chinups). This is a great exercise for men and women, but as women we want our backs nice and tight and this also helps with elimination of that extra skin over our bra that all women hate.- published: 10 Jun 2013

What a great workout this is! As seen during cardio tennis, you can incorporate the agility ladder into any workout to burn extra calories and get your heart pumping! The agility ladder workout is great for any fitness level and age! Athletes use these to gain speed and balance or if you are looking to lose weight and increase calorie burn, this workout is definitely a plus! We will go through 3 different drills: -Side Step Facing sideways, take a quick lateral step by pushing off your back leg and touch each box with two feet. -In & Out Facing the side of the agility ladder, you are going to touch in and out of each box with both feet. Follow a four count of in - in - out - out. Repeat this drill on both sides of the ladder -5 Hops & Run Quickly hop five boxes and on the fifth box land with both feet ready to make another hop, but instead transition into a 1-Step for the remainder of the ladder.
