The Fuse is the eighth album by Pennywise, released on August 9, 2005. The Fuse charted at number 36 in Australia on the ARIA Albums Chart, their third lowest position on the chart among the band's album releases.
The Fuse was a British game show, broadcast on ITV. It was hosted by Austin Healey.
Twelve categories are shown on a board, each containing a different sum of money from £1 to £5,000. One contestant selects a category and starting with the person at the end of the line, the fuse is lit and the team have two minutes to answer six questions in a row correctly (hence the name of the round). If a player gets a question wrong, the chain is broken and play goes back to the first player. The team have two lifelines in this round, the first one is Confer where the player in control can ask their teammates for help, and the second one is Quickfire where the team must answer a list-style question in the same order without conferring, all while the fuse is still burning. If the team answer six questions in a row, the money is put in the prize fund, but if the team runs out of time, the box explodes and the money is lost. Six categories are played in this round, one for each player who picks the categories, with each category ten seconds shorter than the last one. The twelve categories are Natural World, Famous People, Pop Music, Sport, Books, Science & Technology, Television, History, Movies, Food & Drink, Travel, and Words & Numbers. The twelve money amounts are £1, £50, £100, £150, £250, £500, £1,000, £1,500, £2,000, £3,000, £4,000, and £5,000.
The Fuse were a Indie Rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland, that were active between 1998 and 2005.
The band was formed in 1998. The initial line up comprised Kirk Kettles (vocals), Rob Doig (guitar), Garth Coates (bass) and Craig Stark (drums). After two years of sporadic gigging around the UK, they released their self-produced debut EP, The Ballad of Charles Godfrey Stilton in 2001. Coates left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Keith Livingstone. A further development of the lineup came in 2003 when Livingstone and Stark were replaced by Tash and Ted Heagle.
2003 also saw the release of the single High Society, recorded by Duncan Cameron (Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, Travis) and produced by David Scott (The Pearlfishers). The Fuse released their debut album North Eastern Town in 2004. The album was described as a melding of Idlewild with The Undertones and The Wedding Present.
The band played a series of dates in the US while promoting North Eastern Town, playing gigs at CBGB, Kenny's Castaways, and the Chelsea hotel. The Fuse continued to tour throughout 2005 and were invited to record a live session for Vic Galloway's BBC Radio Scotland radio show.
Feels good as it brings you down.
That moment when nothing else matters to you in your
life.
I'm numb.
I can feel it move through my veins.
I can feel the reaction.
My heart's beating faster.
I've tried to find a way for me to fill this void
inside.
I never thought that I would sink this low.
And now I think I've lost control.
Drift off to that perfect place.
That escape where you hide from the issues and fears
that you face.
I'm numb, I'm numb, I'm numb.
I can feel it move through my veins.
I can feel the reaction.
My heart's beating faster.
I can feel it crawling in my blood.
I can feel the reaction.
My heart's beating faster again.
Believe the lie that these drugs will save your life.
Believe the lie that these drugs will save your life.
Believe the lie that these drugs will save your life.
I believed the lie that these drugs would save my life.
Help me, God.
'Cause I've lost my way.
I'm so caught up in myself these days.
Can't see your face.
So, help me, God.
'Cause I've lost my way.
I'm so caught up in myself these days.
Can't see your face, your face.
I can feel it move through my veins.
I can feel the reaction.
My heart's beating faster.
I can feel it crawling in my blood.
I can feel the reaction.
My heart's beating faster again.
I tried to find a way for me to fill this void inside.
But what it was I didn't see, was your hand reached out
