"That which cannot be questioned is always a problem" said Inthira Charoenpura
Some people might feel uncomfortable with what is going on, because it is not what they are used to, but the world doesn’t revolve around familiarity, it spins because it does. Sine said she might be a romantic or an optimist, but when the change happens, it will just happen overnight. It’s all about the accumulation of curiosity, concerns smoldering in people’s minds. It happens little by little. "When there is enough momentum, at a certain level, when everyone questions it together, then that is another story."

One of Thailand's most popular actresses answered a police summons on Monday (21 DECEMBER 2020) on a charge of defaming the country's powerful royal family, in a case that human rights observers say is unprecedented.
Inthira Charoenpura, widely known by her nickname "Sai", arrived at a Bangkok police station along with several key leaders of the pro-democracy movement, who had also been summoned on a similar charge.
A small group of supporters greeted them and held a noisy, impromptu rally before they went in.

A small group of supporters greeted them and held a noisy, impromptu rally before they went in.
"If I can get this charge then anyone can get it too," the 39 year old told the gathering from a stage in front of the police station.
"If you walk without showing respect, someone smiles at you and you don't acknowledge, or you wear a shirt that isn't nice, you can all get this charge," she said.
Thailand has strict laws against criticism of the king, the queen, the heir apparent or the regent. Anyone convicted of lese majeste offences can face up to 15 years in prison.
Inthira has been open about her support for the pro-democracy movement that has made reform of the monarchy one of its three core demands. She has also admitted helping to supply and fund it.
But the actress – who once starred as a warrior princess in an epic movie exalting a historical Thai king - has never made any public speeches at the many rallies that have raised Thailand's political temperature since July.
As she walked to the police station she told The Associated Press she was mystified as to why she had been charged.
"I have no idea," she said "but I am OK with that."
Sunai Phasuk of New York-based Human Rights Watch said it appeared she was in effect being charged as an accessory and called the case a very disturbing precedent.
"The bar is set very low now and no one can be considered safe anymore for the slightest involvement in pro-democracy protests," he said.
Thai authorities recently resumed using the lese majeste law after a break of three years. More than 30 people have been charged in the past few weeks in what appears to be an aggressive strategy to intimidate the protest movement.
