Magical: Disney's New Nighttime Spectacular of Magical Celebrations

Magical: Disney's New Nighttime Spectacular of Magical Celebrations was a fireworks show at Disneyland. The show features recorded music and dialogue, fireworks, lower level pyrotechnics, 10k spotlights, and projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Matterhorn. The show's main musical theme is an adapted rendition of the main theme from Tokyo Disneyland's It's Magical 10th Anniversary Castle Show. Magical was intended as a replacement for Remember... Dreams Come True and as a nighttime entertainment offering for Disneyland's Summer Nightastic promotion.

The show was produced by Walt Disney Creative Entertainment.

The show ran in the summers of 2009-2014, alternating with Halloween Screams in the fall, Believe... In Holiday Magic in the winter, and Remember... Dreams Come True in the spring.

Magical (song)

"Magical" is a pop rock song written by American musician Meat Loaf and British musician John Parr, and it was released as a 1985 single by Parr as a part of his self-titled debut album. A few months later, an alternative version of the song was released in the U.K. as a single by pop group Bucks Fizz. It entered the charts by both artists in the U.S. and U.K. respectively but was not a big hit for either, although Parr's version managed to rise into the top 40 of Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.

John Parr version

John Parr began working with Meat Loaf for the latter's 1984 album Bad Attitude. Together they composed some songs, including "Magical", which became the opening track for Parr's debut album. Parr scored a US hit with the song "Naughty Naughty" in late 1984 and was followed up in April 1985 by "Magical" which entered the Billboard Hot 100 that month but stalled at No.73. It also reached No.28 on the Mainstream Rock chart. In Parr's native UK the single made no impression, although he did go on to achieve success a few months later with the song "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)", prompting his album to enter the UK charts. "Magical" remains the only (released) song written by Meat Loaf that he never recorded.

Spectacular! is a 2009 Nickelodeon musical TV-movie. It stars singer Nolan Gerard Funk, Australian singer Tammin Sursok, Zoey 101 and Victorious star Victoria Justice and Simon Curtis with Matthew Bennett, Andrea Lewis, Harris Allan, Joel Ballard and Avan Jogia. Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, it premiered February 16, 2009. The soundtrack was released on February 3, 2009, with a full webstream on MTV.com released the previous week.

Spectacular! attracted 3.7 million viewers during its premiere.

Plot

As the opening credits roll, a band called Flux, apparently with no singer, starts to play at a nightclub. Among the audience is a girl named Courtney Lane (Tammin Sursok). Interspersed with the scenes of the band playing, singer Nikko Alexander (Nolan Gerard Funk) calmly walks into the club through the back, barely making his cue for "Don't Tell Me". At the end of the song, he kicks over one of the amps, destroying it for effect. After the performance, the other members of Flux, upset by his carelessness, kick him out of the band; Nikko's girlfriend Amy (Britt Irvin), who is also in the band, dumps him. After the band members leave, Courtney frantically attempts to recruit Nikko into a show choir named "Spectacular!," of which she is leader. Though Nikko is skeptical and condescendingly rejects her offer, Courtney begs him to come to a carnival to see the choir perform and then make his decision.

Spectacular (Graham Coxon song)

"Spectacular" is the opening track to the album Happiness in Magazines by British singer-songwriter Graham Coxon. It was released as the third single from that album in 2004 (see 2004 in British music) and peaked at number 32 on the UK Singles Chart.
