In this video, I explore street food in Bangkok Chinatown. Well known for being one of the most bustling places to visit at night in the city, Chinatown truly a foodie paradise. Local street food vendors line up and down Yaowarat Road selling everything from dim sum dumplings to sugary Chinese donuts with pandan dipping sauce. If you're a fan of cheap, exotic, and delicious food...this place should be at the top of your list for places to visit. Bangkok Chinatown is not only a fun place to visit because of it's many tourist sights (Wat Phra Kaew, the Grand Palace, and nearby Phahurat to name a few), but it is also a wonderland of food. The area comes alive at night, especially on Saturdays. I Dim Sum – If there is one thing I love, it's steamed dumplings. These seafood dumplings where some of the best I've tasted. Filled with delicious shrimp, they were cooked perfectly and really hit the spot. Paired with hot chili oil and a dash of soy sauce, they were a delicious treat to start off the evening. Roast Duck – This roast duck caught my eye because they were beautifully displayed in a window hanging from their necks. Although tasty, I have to say that the street food version (from Liw Roast Duck street food stall) was immensely better! Khao Moo Krob – This Thai Chinese dish was one of my favorites from the entire evening! Crispy pork served on a bed of rice topped with a rich pork gravy filled with the aroma of Chinese 5 Spice. It was beyond words. Roast Duck (round 2) – This duck was the winner from the two I tried out. Vouched for by Chinese locals who run my favorite restaurant in the area (i.e. Nai Ek Roll Noodle shop), this street food stall didn't disappoint. Glistening brown red perfectly roasted, beautiful to look at duck that tasted incredible... this is not to be missed! Bird's nest soup – Made from the saliva of birds that has been hardened and dried, bird's nest soup is a Chinese delicacy. Usually priced 3-4 times more than the average street food dish, this teeny tiny soup is definitely an acquired taste. Nate said it tasted like nasty cigarette ashes, but I found the flavor pleasant and mild. It's a love or hate experience, but worth a try! T&K; Seafood stall – If you know me, you know that I love seafood. I would choose fish over anything given the opportunity. So when I had the chance to have a seafood feast in Bangkok Chinatown, I happily went straight for the giant red snapper cooked right on your table! Besides having an awesome little stove on our table, the fish was absolutely delicious. It was a flavor burst of lemongrass, ginger, cilantro and red chilies. Everything we ordered here was great, and highly recommend paying a visit to this stall which is the oldest seafood stall in Bangkok Chinatown!
